The thing you gotta love about season 4 is all these high concepts, I swear this year they were just revving up the engines on that front. Remember Me and this episode are such head trips.

I guess somewhere in an area 51 type base..there are 3 wooden crates 1 contains the ark of the covenant from raiders of the lost ark..another contains the body of Jimmy hoffa..and a middle wooden crate contains the get warped editing of TNG episode Family.
That alien costume looked like they didn't want to spend a lot of money
I thought it looked like a reference to the (canonically) fake alien in TOS that appeared in the credits.

After this one got blocked so quickly, I figured it would be a good time to join the patreon as to watch it and finally see the Family reaction. This one gets unblocked right after I watched it on patreon, and Family wasn't available to watch either. Copyright stuff needs a revamp.
That Reel Rejects video was crazy. That they can basically go into a Recycle Bin (which the user has no access to) to find something they deleted a while back, BEFORE it was considered content that could be flagged....and ding them.

Because much like it's a running gag that Worf gets told no a lot,Troi is shown quite often to be bad at her job. lol Although,that being said,it could be fun if her children - if she has any (no spoilers!) - would become a counselor on another ship and actually BE good at it.
It'll probably take a little while to get used to that new intro. And Katrina's volume seems a lot lower than Paula's on this one.
Paula just broke a lot of nerdy hearts with not liking superhero stuff. lol But,hey,if you don't like it,you don't like it.
This is a good,solid episode but am not surprised Katrina - or anyone else - wouldn't figure it out way ahead of time as it's a standard sci-fi trope.

I am not sure if it was intentional or not but there were a few details that ended up coming true in future Trek series. It might be interesting to circle back this episode to see what does and did not come true.

@@MalcolmWolf Wow! That will be most epic! I really love The Orville. The comedy is good, but when it does sci-fi, it does it right.
I always really enjoyed the different combadges from different Star Trek eras, including alternate (even fake) futures and parallel universes. I think out of all of them, I liked the one from this episode the least. It was an interesting concept to combine rank insignia with the combadge, but I don't think they executed it very well.
My favorite combadge is one that shows up in some alternate futures in TNG, DS9, and VOY, and is more-or-less canon for the 2390s-2400s era. I also really like the one in the 2370s-2380s era, which was the combadge used for most of DS9 and all of VOY, as well as the TNG movies. The only combadge I've ever actually owned was from TNG, some toy that actually you could press and it would make a noise. It was way too thick (so it could hold the battery and speaker) and the sound it made was completely wrong, but I still loved that little thing when I was a kid.
I actually get really nerdy about Star Trek props, weapons and tricorders in particular. They're pretty neat.

It's a classic line when Riker tells the fake Picard "I said shut up! As in close your mouth and stop talking!" I absolutely loved the whole fake future aspect of this episode, especially getting another rare chance to see Geordi with normal eyes. LeVar Burton definitely made the most of it, especially when he gets increasingly pissed-off at Riker's demands and starts giving him the side-eye. Plus, Data in a command red uniform looks so weird!

As for Marvel superhero movies I grew up reading the comic books and have loved the films but so many have already reacted to them. I think a better idea would be to step off the beaten track and cover other heroes such as "The Spirit" (by Will Eisner), "The Phantom", "John Carter of Mars", "The Shadow" (Alec Baldwin), "Elektra" (Jennifer Garner), "Hellboy" (Ron Perlman), "Watchmen", "Supergirl", "Catwoman" (Halle Berry), "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" (Uma Thurman), even some old serials from the '40s or TV shows such as "Green Hornet".
Speaking of Jennifer Garner try the "Alias" series or "Andromeda" or "La Femme Nikita" or "Dead Like Me" (only 2 seasons) "Reaper" (also just 2 seasons) or the "Gormenghast" mini-series or the "Dune" mini-series with the sequel "Children of Dune".

Personal warning bell for this scenario: Geordi's eyes. "Cloned? What do you mean? A clone was made of you, and had his eyes harvested? Or WHAT! Cos that's a pretty nasty thing to do to someone, even if they are never allowed to achieve consciousness...WAITT BECAUSE they are never allowed to achieve consciousness!
I believe that, even at the time, there was talk of being able to clone body parts without cloning the whole organism. I would expect they basically meant "eyes grown in a lab with Geordi's DNA."
The best part is that the kid actually looked alien at the end- not the laughable "forehead makeup crab" gag.

Ah, Katrina... If you're going to start reacting to Marvel start at the beginning with Iron Man (2008) and go by release order. Going any other way will spoil other the other movies. There are mid and after credit scenes as well so you won't miss them by turning the movie off too soon.
Phase 1: Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, The Avengers.
Kat's already seen all the movies, just none of the TV shows. Can you imagine walking into Wandavision with no prep??? 🤯
Sorry again for all the issues you're still getting with this project. This is an interesting episode but seemed Katrina was almost too smart for it. Almost forgot, a very powerful new opening you have now.

Interestingly enough, the main plot of this episode is basically the same as a classic GI Joe episode. Not sure if the writers here were directly inspired by it, or if this was pure coincidence.
The specifics are quite different, though.

Paula, why did you tell Katrina about the woman Riker created in the holodeck before it was revealed in the episode? I know Katrina saw the episode you mention but she didn't remember the character. I do consider this a spoiler since Katrina couldn't remember the character. Again, you both talk about not spoiling anything yet Paula spoils a lot of info about quite a few episodes. It's like Paula can't wait to talk about the episode so she spills things.
I think she is so excited to show this episode to Katrina that she honestly forgets to censor herself when it comes to spoilers. I do the same thing when I'm showing friends or loved ones shows and other things I love to them too, so I'll give her a little leniency 😉
I feel at the point that Paula explained it, the episode had already done it's "reveal" of the fake Mrs. Riker. At that point, Kat just didn't recognize the character that had been already revealed.
When Riker says "Min... Minuet," that's the time the reveal happened. Paula gave Kat some time after that to remember who that was, but she clearly was not connecting the dots. When Kat finally recognized who it was, we still got the fantastic reveal reaction. She was just reminded by Paula 5 seconds before Riker reminded us who Minuet was.
From the comments, I gather you had trouble getting past the copyright censors. But come on, you can't just skip all the way from Riker meeting his 'son' straight to breaking through the second illusion. If that was the only way to get the video unblocked, it's arguably better to just skip it, and throw a quick explanation into the description of the next video.
Now this episode I remember. "Jean-Luc" trying to play three blind mice lol.

@@brianadkins3880 once pirated viewings were taken into account AoS actually had much higher viewership than any other Marvel series at the time. Certainly viewings doesn't equate to quality, but it does speak to its appeal.

I don't get the whole copyright issue, if I wanted to view the entire Star Trek franchise I'd pull them off my media rack sitting 5 yards away from me. We aren't here for the show, we're here for the REACTIONs to the show. The same goes for music reactors, I have all the CDs, seeing someone hear those songs for the 1st time breathes new life into them and viewers can fill the reactor in on the background, the context, hidden meanings. No one is out to rob Paramount or the BBC or any other fat corporation that we've already paid money to watch on cable or stream or bought our own copies of. They're trying to milk dead cows that someone dug up. Enough capitalist greed already.

Paula.... you've got to stop doing that. Whenever Katrina makes a "correct guess" about the episode, your eyes tighten just slightly. That's called a "tell", and something people use when trying to decipher when someone is telling the truth or not. Your "smile" when she's guessing sometimes hides it, but you're not consistent with it. What you can do, is just close your eyes, and smile when she's making these guesses, so as not to "give it away". =D

Personally, I think there should be a statute of limitations for CZcams content. If you're reacting to something that's over 20 years old, copyright strikes should not be possible.

Have you thought about duplicating your videos on a second site and linking out to them if they get blocked on youtube? I know other reviewers do it for patreon which I hate because reacting isn't something you should get paid for, it should just be sharing your enjoyment with others (or maybe I just don't have the money to want to see videos a month early or reward people for watching TV) ... But the second upload is still a valid option. There's a guy who reviews Star Trek called SFDebris and he's had to jump from streaming site to streaming site
