Hello everyone, thank you for being patient with me while I have been sick. I appreciate all your kind support🙏🙏
In today's case we will be discussing The bizarre disappearance of Jawaher Hejji, who was 26 years old and had parked her car on (12/23/20) at a construction site near Black Mountain, shaded canyon Nevada which is south of Las Vegas. Her family heard from her on that day and apparently she sat in her car for several hours before getting out to go for her walk/hike. Her family didn't hear back from her so they tried reporting her missing, however, they were told by police that they had to wait 48 hours so they couldn't actually report her missing until Christmas day 2020.
They did extensive searches using dogs, drones, helicopters, and red rock search and rescue and found nothing. The family had offered a reward and had tons of volunteers and were actively searching the whole area for months. Aside her car, which had all her belongings including her phone on the hood of the car, they didn't find any clues. There is video surveillance footage of her seen walking towards the trail.
It wasn't until 10 months later that a hiker/climber found her remains in what the police called " a difficult area to reach" Jawaher wasn't known to be a hiker or someone who did those kind of outdoor activities so of course the family was very confused as to what she was even doing there in the first place. Further this area was searched over and over, and if it was a hard to reach area, how did this young girl who had no hiking experience even get there?
The medical examiner's office wasn't able to provide any answers regarding what happened. manner or cause of death, which of course made things even more upsetting for the family. The family has hired a private investigator because none of it makes any sense, and according to various statements they gave to the media, they don't feel as though the authorities are putting enough into the investigation. The Metropolitan police in fact have closed out the case but it remains active and open with the Henderson Police Department.
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Hejji family, and everyone who knew Jewel, her mom and sisters and all those that are going through the hardest times in their lives. 🙏🙏
I hope and pray you will find answers soon🙏
If you have any information or were in the area at the time, please contact the Police Dept at 702-828-3111 or you can call crime stoppers at: 702-385-5555
We need to get justice and answers for Jawaher and her family!
Thank you for watching and please be respectful in the comments if you choose to leave them 🙏This family is going through and unimaginable tragedy, and please think before you comment. Thank you 🙏🙏

Several hours alone in the car, things on the roof, and a lengthy, remote hike alone sound like suicide. Just because they say she was happy means nothing. I had an uncle who was an airline pilot. Happy, successful, playful, with big future plans and a beautiful home and family. A neighbor found him in the car with a hose from exhaust to inside his car and empty booze bottles scattered all around the house. We only *think* we know our fellow humans. They can be on a slow boil inside without even those closest to them being aware.

Not to mention, people can and do just snap from time to time. Happens every day.
This is heartbreaking for the family. I hope they can find some peace eventually.
May she be resting peacefully. ❤

If I’ve learned one thing as an ICU nurse, it’s that we don’t really know people-especially our own family. She sat there for hours contemplating her decision. When she finally decided to move forward she left her belongings on top of the car. Not in the car, on top of the car it’s a statement-here are my things, I’m done with them. To say she couldn’t get to where they found her is a grave under estimation of what one can do when they are determined. When someone decides to end their life, they have a strong power from within. I have seen so many attempts that survived, some that end up not and others that had tragic outcomes. Never, ever think your family member would never do this. They can and they will.

  • @thesecretshade

I'm not sure why anyone would think her putting very personal items on top of her car means she will be right back. No one does that and walks away from the car for a hike. That's not normal.
She just sat several hours in her car before stepping out and doing that. Like she thought really long about if she's going or not. Then putting her personal items on top like she's done with her life, walking away.
In my opinion she wanted to be alone and not burden anyone with a clean up or discovery of her body. Something was definitely not ok in her life and I wonder why her missing posters say she might be in severe distress and something about medical. Either the family doesn't tell everything or they have no clue what really was going on in her life.
Either way, I hope she rests in peace.

I didn't hear it mentioned but one would think that a forensic analysis of her cell phone, personnel computer and social media sites would come up with something. Most young women of her age spend inordinate amounts of time on electronic devices. She was sitting in her car for a couple of hours prior to walking off . Hard to believe some of that time was not spent on her cell phone. In my opinion the fact that she left all her personnel belongings including cell phone and car keys on top of the car indicates she did not expect to return.

Especially if there is evidence that she sat in her car for some time before getting out and just walking off. How did she get to a remote and difficult area? She walked there, it's not a mystery. If she was going to commit suicide, she just kept walking until she found somewhere remote enough, or plucked up the courage. My deepest sympathy to her family but I hope they can accept this and gain some peace rather than pursuing phantoms for the rest of their lives. This is an odd case. Leaving her things on top of her car seems like a statement--"Look at this car, identify its owner," or "I have left and do not/will not need these things [keys, car, ID, etc.] anymore."
As for climbing to where she was found: My friends and I used to climb up to impossible places when we were determined to check them out. Climbing up is easy when you are not considering how you will descend. I feel for her family, suicide may be difficult to accept when a loved one appears to be content with their life.

When one of your loved ones committed suicide, do you want to know why? Sometimes the don't left a note, because they don't wanna hurt you. I personally couldn't answer my own question. With the locdown here In Belgium earlier this year a girlfriend from my wife committed suicide. And nobody saw it coming. No note, no signs and nothing bad happened in her life. The opposite was true, she had everything. Good education, a boyfriend, loving parents and no financial troubles. My girlfriend described her as a person that was very happy and outgoing. I tell you this story, because you never know what are the struggles inside a person.

As for Jewel this is a really sad and confusing situation for all concerned. I wonder if she had received some bad news or was deeply shocked about something she just didn't feel able to share? Leaving her things on the car roof sounds like she wasn't thinking straight or was under duress.

This sounds like a suicide unfortunately. In cases like this you have to take what the families say with a grain of salt when it comes to their attitude, mental status etc. You can never truly tell how someone is feeling inside no matter how much you think you know them. The case of John stivers is a perfect example of this. The family and friends of his repeatedly claimed that he was happy and not depressed and would never hurt or leave his family. It turned out that's exactly what he ended up doing. Same with the case of a recent hiker who killed him self in teton national park over the summer. His remains were found by searchers looking for gabby petito. His family claimed during his initial search he was happy and would never kill himself.

If you look at the cold hard facts then there's no alternative other than coming to the conclusion of suicide.
The young woman drove to a remote location alone..then sat in her car for 2 hours, she then gets out of the vehicle and places all her personal belongings on the roof of the vehicle but deletes the phone memory first (obviously because she doesn't want anyone to see it)..
Then she walked off along the trail..alone without her phone or carrying any water or hiking gear..just walked away from her life .
Arranged marriage on the cards?..maybe something that most of us wouldn't blink an eye at- was a very big deal to a pretty, young, educated woman coming from a very traditional culture.
Not so far from my home there's a section of the rail line notorious for young female suicide..almost all are from a similar cultural background to juahir.

Obviously there's a contradiction right there..
I don't like to generalise but the usual reasons for someone like juahir taking her own life are the prospect of an arranged marriage to someone she doesn't like or because she has a serious relationship with a western boyfriend and her family think she has brought shame and dishonour on the family because of it..
A friend of mine (white Middle class English)..is married to a very highly educated and intelligent lady from an Indian family..they are both honest, hardworking people and good parents to their 2 children..her family has disowned her and there's been no communication from them for many years now because they honestly believe she's brought dishonour on the family by choosing to marry someone from outside their culture.
It's very sad to see how upset it makes her, even today many years later because she obviously still loves her family and misses them very much.
Personally I think if you choose to live in a western country then you choose to accept its values too- and the whole arranged marriage thing with associated family dishonour and shame and the occasional honour killings- should be treated by the authorities as harshly as possible with severe penalties and punishment
Singapore has been very effective at dealing with this type of cultural behaviour and takes a zero tolerance attitude towards it.

Adults do have the right to change their lives, disassociate from family, friends if they wish. Reporting someone as missing depends on current laws, never say "I think". The question was, why didn't S&R look at the hard to reach sites? Why should they? This woman wasn't known to be a hiker/climber and searching those areas require time, skill. technical equipment. those are better spent on areas she would more likely to be found in. Use some outdoor thinking here. It is a sad case, but what is so curious is why she sat in her car for hours? Why would she leave her valuables on the car? Is this suicide or abduction? Her family will never know. Why didn't the police release those documents? They are not going to release anything in an open case. That is standard procedure, family and friends are investigated as well,. Are her family or friends telling the whole story of what happened as far as they know, or is someone holding back? Sad case as always.

When suicide is on the mind of a person, (in my opinion) they are beyond being able to consider the effect this will have on family and friends. If they were able to consider this, they would not go ahead with it. Sometimes people who suicide believe their death will in some way relieve their family of the burden that they cause them. This is rarely (if ever) the case, but when considering / planning suicide, thought processes are inevitably skewed. If this lovely young woman was thinking such thoughts and decided to act on them, I hope she has now found the relief and peace she was seeking.

@@AverageAmerican No…lost hikers, missing children in the woods, lost dementia patients, etc. are routinely found in an area that was already searched by police or by search and rescue. This happens all the time. It means that just because a grid of forest was searched for a missing hiker, that doesn’t mean the person (or their remains) were not in that grid. This is because searches are not exhaustive and it’s not accurate to conclude that because an area was searched it means the person (or remains) was not there. We know this from all the missing hikers who are subsequently found (both dead and alive) in an area previously searched. In some cases the searchers were within 10’ of remains but didn’t see them. In one case, another hiker gave exact GPS coordinates of an injured hiker and they STILL couldn’t locate the person even knowing where to look. Lost hikers who were later rescued (or who kept journals found with their remains) reported hearing rescuers calling their name, seeing helicopters overhead, and still not being found because they couldn’t be seen or heard by the rescuers. So I’m not talking about criminals moving a body into an area already searched.

@@AverageAmerican You’re right, it’s not routine to find them alive, it’s more routine to find them dead in a searched area. But we know from journal entries that are found with remains that they were alive when the area they were in was being searched because the hiker saw and heard rescuers. However, There are many examples of people being found alive in areas already searched too. Baby Rainn in 2015 was found curled up in tall grass only a mile from where she went missing that had been previously searched. Lost Hawaii hiker Amanda Ellis? From 2019 was found alive 2 weeks after getting lost and rescuers repeatedly searched where she was. Also in Hawaii a guy lost on a volcano for a week saw and heard rescuers every day but they couldn’t see or hear him. It wasn’t until a teenager in a sight seeing plane noticed him that he was found. Planes that have crashed into mountains with survivors reported being flown over by helicopters multiple times without being seen. There are many, many more examples. Depending on the terrain and sounds (rushing water) in an area, it can be very hard to see and hear someone calling for help. Also, people become weak and can’t shout anymore after calling for help for days. In the winter when snow falls, or in the autumn when leaves fall, a person who otherwise would be visible gets covered, making detection almost impossible. With the Brian Laundry case, they searched the area he was later found in but the water level was too high to find him until it dropped. It is VERY routine that searches are not exhaustive.

Honestly, my first guess would be mental health issues. The odd behavior ,waiting in the car for hours, is unusual and suggests somethingg is going on personally.
I would be curious to see what phone activity occured during those hours, if any. I would be interested in any social media and what any of her closest frieeeends observed. Often thhe family can be in denial of these things.
Its difficult to come to any conclusions regarding where she was found and whether she could have gotten there without more info. Difficult doesn't mean impossible and she already had done unusual activities. Kinda reminds me of the Japanese lady, doctor(?) who travelled all the way to the north of Canada(Yellowknife?) spent a few days then aparently walked out into the frozen tundra to die there.

Your right. It doesn't mean she wasn't there. Your logic is solid.
So what's most likely true? TC let's talk about probabilities. Is there a 50% chance she was there and a 50% chance she wasn't? If so, then we can't be sure. -Your guess will be as good as mine. Right?
However, there's something you need to know about canines. Their sense of smell is terrific. Talk to canine officers from different jurisdictions and they will tell you if the woman was there, then they will MOST LIKELY find her. If canines were on the scene within one week, and there wasn't a mudslide, tsunami or massive flooding then the probability of the canines tracking her to her location comes really close to 100%. But TC you are right to say it doesn't mean she was there for certain.
For sure, the 50/50 probability mentioned above does not fit. -And it's important for us to choose between her being there or not being there. -Because if she wasn't there, then that community MOST LIKELY has a serious problem on their hands.
So TC what is most likely true? Most likely, she wasn't there. So what do we do now TC?

Honestly it sounds like suicide. Her sitting in her car sounds like she was contemplating if she wanted to go through with it. She might have left her belongings outside the car so someone saw them, or so they knew who she was, or maybe she put it all outside/on the car because she didn't need it any longer. Or both. Maybe that was her way of leaving a clue that she was done. No letter though. Which a lot of the time there is no letter.. also the place where she was found sounds like it was probably on a cliff, which makes it sound like she fell or jumped. But with the other signs... I would say she jumped. So sad.

A bizarre case. I think suicide the most likely explanation on the basis of information given so far. However, that superficial level of information still leaves many questions unanswered. There is no information about the emotional distress that the flyers say she was suffering. She was 26, but we have no idea how she earned her living (sounds like a student, but where and what?...) , where she lived (independently or with parents ...?), significant relationships... Conversations, phone records and social media in the lead up to the disappearance would seem to be crucial , but there is no mention at all ... These could likely confirm the emotional distress and/or that she was planning to meet someone. The sitting in the car for hours could have been on the phone emotionally distraught after a relationship break-up OR waiting for someone (drug dealer, internet hook up(?) who knew the cameras on site, so would meet off-site after giving her a remote but easy-to-find place to park) who was delayed in giving instructions exactly where to meet. Dropping one item accidentally when leaving the car is possible, but leaving ALL you personal stuff together on top of the car is either an intentional 'done with the world' statement, or an oblivious complete mental breakdown/drugged state, or an action done done under instruction under great fear. (The last makes no sense to me in the context, but a lot of things don't make sense to me.) Clearly not placed by someone else; the surveillance camera apparently shows her doing it. I think the family may be in denial about aspects of her life. I think the police are covering up something, but not necessarily a perpetrator; it could be their lazy failure to act when they didn't want their Christmas holiday disturbed, or the known identity of an ex-partner to whom she was on the phone for hours before going off to take her own life. Still too many unanswered questions to be 100% certain of the likely suicide, and I hope the PI can get some answers.

Too many possible scenarios to just jump to suicide.

Missing shoes and items of clothing, yeah. Those who are found alive usually have no idea what happened in the the days or hours they were missing and in the case of missing children are often found completely naked, there was one instance where a kid had removed his clothes and folded them neatly and left them in a pile on a rock (something that is common with other disappearances). It's like these people have a fit of mental instability where they black out and feel compelled to wonder the wilderness in circles for days until they are found alive or dead.
This case really doesn't sound much different.
