- Conan O'Brien is no doubt the best late night host, the others can't even compare. His show on TBS was amazing and my favorite part to come out of it was Jordan Schlanksy. His remotes about the elitist coffee machine and Italy were great. Truly class. I am writing this description on an empty stomach

Jordan is just playing himself, it's not an act. Met him a few months back with no cameras on. He's just like that.
Conan is the Late Night TV King. Furthermore, his podcast is also probably my favourite. It is just the best. He is a legend.
i wish his pod wasn't just him talking to famous people or Conan fans. Conan is an extremely intelligent, academic person and i think he would be amazing if he stretched that muscle of his and did interviews with other academics/researchers.
Funny satire as always on Conan...99% non serious gags. not propaganda or politics. love him for that.
I think every characteristic Jordan shows is his genuine personality, just dialled up to 1000% for the camera. There was a moment during the pandemic - after Conan sent Jordan a pet food dispenser so he could remotely film and feed him treats 😂 - where he sincerely tells Jordan he missed him and to take care. It was incredibly heartfelt and I think that genuine warm relationship - they've worked together for 30 years now - is what belies all these remotes where they bicker at each other.

I think his first appearance was a segment during the writer strike where Conan talked to him and then they danced in the hallway
It’s kind of debated since he did some stuff here and there for a while but I chose to go with the espresso machine as the start of the official run since that’s what they talked about on Conan Needs a Friend
I guess unpopular opinion but I like Jordan 😅 like not in a “I find his personality funny” but I just like his general attitude and passion about certain topics

What if he didn't participate in the writers strike but wasn't willing to show that he's not participating in it so they had to make his character seem like it's not a bit
I don't think Jordan is breaking. I think he is actually laughing and just doesn't seem to be comfortable showing emotion. I refuse to believe otherwise regardless of the evidence 😂

Yeah, I think he probably just got comfortable and the “breaking character” looks completely normal to me. It’s definitely played up a tad, but I think it’s definitely him. Also in that Harrison Ford clip I think its clear that was just a bit.
You forgot that the I think Jordan's 1st or second appearance was When Conan interviewed him during the writer's strike giving us a general background of him. Then I believe that Cona had that Italian Dinner with him in New York. After that might have been that Thanksgiving dinner.

The 1st appearance was at LucasFilm, according to the Team Coco channel it was filmed in 2007 while these segments were all filmed 2008 and up
@@iAmLufaah that's cool. These are all like hidden gems since they all aren't on the Channel. I believe Jordan is pretty much a quirky dude, getting tightened up due to not knowing what Conan will do to him lol.

I don't even know if you can say Jordan is acting most of the time. In those breaks he had in Italy I think he genuinely believes that the train ticket in Italy has a unique smell and when he gets called out for saying feces instead of poop or shit or something he loses it but then has really deep points about "Language is a means to an end" and things like that or when they were tasting wine and he really believes the things he's saying but watching Conan giggle not understanding what he's talking about it is humorous to him.
Also, get a mic stand stop moving it around with the rhythm of your speech patterns

i respectfully disagree on all the examples you chose to prove that Jordan is playing a character/playing an exaggerated version of himself. I think those were all instances of Jordan literally being unable to control himself. He is not a trained actor. When you see normal people trying to act next to someone like Conan, who has been in the business since the elder days, it is extremely jarring. You don't see that with Jordan and Conan because Jordan is just that person.
HOWEVER, i will note that you missed the one and only example that I have found of Jordan being his "true" self that made me think that he miiight actually be a character. Although i will admit it's very very weak evidence. It is in the remote when Conan cleans Jordan's office. When Conan walks into his office, Jordan goes "How are you?" he then notices the camera crew + organizer lady and then says "My goodness!" from then on, Jordan speaks in the way of "his character" but the "How are you" and "my goodness" seemed to have come from a completely different person than the one we know as Jordan.
