Wow, that is a "Sicko" rap you have on this video Anthony, I REALLY like it a lot (can't get it out of my head right now). Tell me one thing, please, when & if you find the time to type here; I write poetry, compulsively, you might say, for over 52 years now, since I was a kid. I wonder how you memorize all the lines you write to be able to perform them?
Do rappers have to do the lines/ bars over & over & over to memorize them so well that they/you can spit them out without any errors, live?
Or are all great rappers naturally gifted with exceprional memories? Either way, it is such an impressive ability to not only write it but perform it.
In songs, generally, there are not so many linesfor a vocalist to memorize for each one... but in good/great rap the amount of words & lines just blows my mind that anyone can remember all of it !!
Only hobi can convince yoongi to do this with him and that's on SOPE.

"Otsukare sama deshita" is basically the Japanese way of saying to coworkers "Thank you for your hard work" at the end of the day. Koreans have a similar saying "sugo heh so yo", which also translates to something like "You've worked hard". It's a kind and mannerly gesture of thanks for working hard, rather than an outright "thank you". And yeah, like others mentioned, it started from Hobi saying that to their Japanese staff during a tour, and it evolved into this "trot" style song of gratitude. "Trot" is a genre of music in Korea, from the older generations of music - nowadays, we consider it a bit cheesy and over-the-top, with the sparkly bowties and coats, but it's just a beloved part of Korean culture, and all the boys love it. And Hobi is the ONLY person that could possibly have convinced Yoongi to do something like this in such an enthusiastic fashion.
Any time I've had a bad day, if I come home and listen to these two singing and dancing and telling me I've worked hard, I think I just might feel that much better.

People keep saying only Yoongi could say yes to Hobi. While as a matter of fact, it was Yoongi who had the idea to make it into a full song. Hobi liked to sing lightly "otsukare tsamade shita" to the staffs & crews to appreciate them after working hard together. So Yoongi asked Hobi to finish the song & sing it together as a 'hwagae market' subunit

I listen to this song every morning with my daughter and sing it before we go to school. We so love this song and we are teaching it to her teachers. So fun you can't have a bad after hearing this song. Only j hope can get suga to come out of his shell to do this.

He is good at all the three too. Hobi is actually a sub-vocalist too while Jungkook is a sub-rapper. (Maknae means the youngest in the group, Hyung means older brother)

Actually, at the start of the song they’re “opening the doors” bc it’s kind of personal introduction to their duo. They would often do livestreams titled “hwagae market.” When starting the broadcast they’d “open” the door to the market and when ending they’d close them.
Hwagae market is an actual place btw, it’s placed in between two regions (Yoongi’s hometown state of Gyeongsang-do and Hobi’s hometown state of Jeolla-do) - those two regions traditionally didnt get along and didnt like each other, so the market was (and still is) a place where they could come together and put aside their differences :)
