- This Touring Aero 3 is the first of fifteen planned examples being built by Touring Superleggera in Milan. Based on either a Ferrari F12 or 812 Superfast, this ultra exclusive supercar celebrates the great streamlined racers built by Touring back in the thirties. In this video, I delve into Touring Superleggera's history file and take this amazing car for a drive on some of my favourite roads..

Love how Harry has stated that the mic issue rectified in 1 min 50 secs. Not "very soon", not "a couple of mins" but 1 min 50 secs. What a gentleman!
... have to agree with you, and indeed it didn't cause me much sadness.
Harry Metcalfe is a living embodiment of precision instrument.
He reminds me of James May and all the good things about him. He Is like Mr. May and so much more.
Ha yes very precise !
Gyana Ranjan Dash similar shirts too, I thought!
don't recall seeing Harry so mesmerized by a car before.
Gregory Zunic defo one for his spank bank.
That’s because he is a real car guy, not just focused on speed or how it looks! It’s statement and about what can and has been achieved, a unique (almost) piece of engineering and craftsmanship, yes it will split opinions, good design should, the owner likes it, so who cares.
Steve Meecham I like it as well, not sure what your point is.
He likes his Alfas or Alfa-connected cars. Couldn’t agree more. Alfa should build cars like this and leave Ferrari for dead.
I noticed that as well! To be fair, you couldn’t have a better start with an 812/F 12 as your underpinning.
This channel is such a joy for the petrolhead. In a world filled with vacuumcleaners for cars, this is pure joy. Keep the roadtrip video's coming, Harry!
Evolve i love car that includes the best evs also
@@allensaunders449 I am glad you do! I don't. Enjoy the video :)
I know what you mean by "vacuum cleaners" and it's tragic. One of my long-term clients (1997 to 2015) was a couple of hundred metres from the Melbourne F1 Grand Prix track - just across the road. It got noisy in March. Sitting at the back of the building, we could hear the howling F1 engines in practice sessions. If you went out to the street, the howling engines could compress your ribs and make your body shake. Magnificent. Then, one year, I stood outside the building and heard a muted, burbling noise like a failed fart. This was the new F1. Kitten and puppy videos are more exciting.
Vacuum cleaners, washing machines... the stodgy porridge that fills the roads today are appliances not cars :(
@@manekdubash5022 Fully agree. Well spoken, Sir.
16 mins 54 secs of unbridled joy! A truly fabulous car, a fabulous video and Harry's enjoyment is just so infectious!
My favourite channel by a country mile. Just brilliant.
Harry’s “Perfect 10-car garage” would be a sight to behold.
This rolling homage to poor taste would not make the cut.
His perfect 10-car garage contains 15 cars
my perfect 10 car garage is the best there is. I'll only mention a few: V12 swapped miata, LS swapped 250 GTO, LS swapped tesla model S, etc.
@@user-hr2zy7ct8h A YES
@@user-hr2zy7ct8h im gunna do an LS swap on a Honda Beat and an Isetta bubble car
God Harry, you are like a kid at Christmas in the first 8 mins lovely to see.
Such enthusiasm, Harry. Thank you for all of your content. This one is special.
Harry - great video - love the sound - I thought I was looking a Jaguar F Type special creation of a D Type....
So lucky to have a chance to jump into this after a few hours rolling the Barley fields....enjoy your Sunday evening👍
Great to see passion and genuine excitement in a review, very few motoring journalists posses your story telling abilities.
Thank you Harry. What an absolute pleasure, this video!! Great car, great info, great scenes and that contagious big smile on your face. Loved this!
What a glorious sound! Terrific video Harry! Many thanks!
" everybody else is home cooking tea but no I m going out" that's exactly what we drivers do! Harry is class act.
As a proud Italian myself I have yet so much to discover on the history of car making in Italy. I have heard the name many times In the past but never knew how much history Touring Superleggera has. This video was so good to watch and I think I have found a new car marker to love and appreciate along with Ferrari Alfa Lancia Maserati Fiat and Lamborghini! Today there aren't many things we Italians can be proud of but in terms of car making, I am proud to say MADE IN ITALY!
💚🤍💘🏎
Good to see Italians loving their history, if only Brits would have the same appreciation of their own history. Congrats on your recent elections!
Bloody brilliant, sums up the car and the channel. Thanks Harry.
Love the vid Harry especially the history of Touring’s cars. Marvelous!
750 views in ten minutes, lots of people happy on an otherwise wet Sunday afternoon, thanks Harry..!
Harry... you’re killing it!!! This is truly a world exclusive 👏
What a review and all under the speed limit of course !
Stunning car, thank you for giving us the opportunity of seeing and hearing this magnificent beast.
thanks to the owner for sharing this gem of automotive history and may he have many enjoyable miles driving it..
Always entertaining Harry, and educational. I learned a lot today! This is one extraordinary car, piece of art. That V12 sounds almost too good to be true. Amazing attention to detail, splendid design. Love how they preserved the nostalgia, I agree with your view on the badge. Super review 👍🏻
Is that your real name?
For me, best car video I think I’ve seen! The absolute and pure excitement, and appreciation for cars that shines through here from him, allows you have the best insight into how you think you’d feel driving something like that! Just Brilliant.
Great video - a unique car - Harry, thank you for sharing.
Something unmistakable about the sound of a V12. My first aural memory was a Miura. Unforgettable.
I recall my first oral experience like it was yesterday 😁
New Harry’s Garage going to be a great day
Wonderful video Harry...you really took me with you.
Always a pleasure to watch your videos Sir Harry
What a machine, saw their Bentley estate a while back, that was something special too.
The future of the 1930s is finally here! What a fantastic video and drive!
As usual a great video, but just love how much you're enjoying that car, it really comes across . Many thanks Harry .
Awesome as always Mr M
What an absolutely magnificent machine. A work of art!
Cataracts can be cured thankfully...
@@Speedwelltuning They can! A lack of discernment can not.
the option between a normal seatbelt and full race harness is brilliant
Is like this in most Lotus Exige´s too. You can chose according to your mindset 😅
An elegant piece of art reliving my childhood dreams, thanks Harry for keeping up the excellent content and video.
What else can you say? Harry relentlessly continues with delightful surprises. This is the best automotive youtube channel, period.
Night and day compared to the Calum dogs breakfast from last week. Perfect
The sunset light actually really added a lot to the video. I wouldn't mind seeing that more often 😉
It is called golden hour in photography/videography:)
Thanks for your efforts.. great review. I like your collection so much
Incredible! Amazing video and the coolest car!! 👍🏼
The only person missing in the enjoyment of this car is Harry's grandson howling with laughter in the seat beside him! :)
I love that fin. Just like white chocolate and airships.
Nuts
It’s a work of art.. cabin is sublime. Enjoy Harry!
Cheers lucky owner for letting Harry share this beast with us.
The touring coach-built body is very apparent in the modern Ferrari...the pedigree is there 😎
Beautiful race car.
What a car, have no clue how you managed to get your hands on this, other than being royalty in car jurno land, glad you did though...! That engine just boggles the mind, the effort and detail that has gone into the coach work is simply breathtaking. Wish I was a rich bloke, the fun you could have commissioning something like this.... Thanks Harry, coming off that high must have been hard work!!
Fantastic car and a fantastic video...as usual.
Congratulations
Wow Harry, another great video with a very special car. Well done!!
Greeting from the Netherlands.
That engine, the noise 👌....Electric cars will never make you feel like that....thanks for sharing the experience 🤪😎
Yeah EVs lack any character, so lifeless.
😴😴😴🙄
Harry needs to start selling prints of cars on his estate, the scenery with the caliber of cars he has in his disposal is a great combo!
...totally agree! They would sell like hotcakes!
Agreed. Would buy. Especially if one of them was an LP400
Great looking and sounding car. I caught myself smiling and talking to Harry. Great Sunday entertainment. Ty.
Thank you for another great review of a car most of us only will get the chance to see in pictures 🙌 Keep the films coming! 👌
Only Harry would get away with borrowing Captain Scarlet's car
Captain Scarlet’s car! Of course! That’s what it reminds me of!
All the way through I was racking my brains thinking where I’d seen that fin back before
I had the Corgi toy as a kid
You hit the nail on the head it was bugging me as to what this reminded me of! Thanks you've put me out of my misery. Great guy letting Harry drive it and let us all eavesdrop! Definitely a classic of the future.
I applaud the owner for having it built, even if I will never see one in the flesh, or were I to win the lottery, buy one.
Think there would be quite a few other cars on my list before this
Such as?
I bow in honor of the one in recognition of such goodness
You don't even play the lottery
@@user-ht9fr6eh9u just about any other supercar tbh
Harry your videos are addictive...the car you are reviewing is literally mind boggling...and the way the 1930's design has been paid tribute too is pretty amazing...
thanks for sharing this special car Harry !
6:11 says “f12 tdf” in the gauge cluster obviously they couldn’t remap the screen
Travis Russell Weak effort.
Good catch. Really not the worst thing to be reminded of though 🙂
It sadly only says F12 Berlinetta :/
So every time you turn it on you get reminded that you spent £650k on a £150k car. I've no idea why anyone would buy this hideous car.
Btw i am not a fan either.
Not my cup of tea but I'd never turn down a Harry's garage video
Fabulous, thanks Harry.
Thanks you Harry and Owner. Beautiful
Five minutes ago I had no idea this car existed. Now, I must have one. Oh yes. I must.
Beautiful car, amazing noise. Disco volante next? 😉
That just looks spectacular. You lucky lucky lucky bastard, to gert to drive that. Well done Sir!
What an astonishing car. Thank you for the video.
That tear drop car brings a tear drop car to my eye.
Nuts
Some controversial bits on the styling. I guess some minor changes would reduce the " Hot- wheels"- look a bit, and all 15 examples will look slightly different. Thanks for showing :)
I agree, as fast and unique as it is, there are some suspect design touches. the wheels are a bit 'drug dealer', the doors look like theyve been kicked in. The back end belongs on a 50s le mans car. Too much design for designs sake to try and justify the price?
Another superb review. Thank you
Outstanding that car made the hairs on my neck take notice... One of the nicest new cars I have seen in a long time, its made my bucket list.......
How about a video on "Harry's perfect 10 car garage?"
Yes! Wouldn't that be great. Come on Harry....please.
Love all the old Touring cars shown in the video, but this one's just not my cup of tea. But then, it's a problem I'll never have 😊. Great video Harry, as usual...
superb watch as usual
Just love your channel!
Looks like an Alfa 4C, Chevrolet Corvette and Jaguar D-Type had a baby...not sold on the exterior, but that sound!
Nick Wills sounds exactly like my stock F12
@@spiller212 its based on an F12, so that explains that!
@@nickwills6042 you missed the point...he knows it's based on the f12 and is basically telling you if the sound is the only thing you like about it then just buy an f12!
@@TheScudabear1 yes exactly ;-)
Looks like all of those, but I'd also add in the Fisker Karma
The front bumper is too busy.
Other than that, brilliant machine.
I agree it detracts from the otherwise simplicity of the design.
As does the clashing colour orange used on the numerals and details. A simple white roundel with black numerals would have been so much more evocative of a classic racing car.
@alanrtment porter Nah, my dream car (as of now) is Porsche GT3 with a Manual.
The front looks like a chopped up gt3 bumper
@@ahmedp800 great choice, and I'd rather have a standard F12 or 812 instead of this, back end is OK but the front is a shocker
just needs to lose those two rectangular intakes
Best ferrari driven by the right man from automotive vlogging!!!perfect assembly!!!
Has to be a life defining moment with that car on those Cotswold roads as the sun is setting... tough job Harry. What a fabulous car! Great video...
This has to be Flash Gordon's car from those 1930's comic strips by Alex Raymond.
😂that’s exactly what I was thinking , I reckon it would be Ming the merciless driving it !
A much more resolved design in my eyes than the new Zagato Astons, love it. Yes in the top 20 list.
I really liked the link to iconic Touring cars from the past. Car like this need to make you go wow when you open the garage and this one certainly did that! There's only going to be 15 examples anyway, so it hardly matters anyway. Agree on your comment regarding recent Aston Zagatos too..
@@harrysgarage Yes, respect to the owners' idea of a bespoke homage to the lovely and very fast Raymond Sommer/Clemente Biondetti car No 19 of the 1938 Le Mans - an Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B, that retired not long before the finish of the 1938 Le Mans 24 Hours. As you say Harry at 16:23, "Bloody brilliant this is!" - the owners' new Touring Aero 3 is a beautiful car also. As always, many thanks indeed for all your professional video car-enthusiast's content. Cheers.
What a lovely car. Thanks again Harry for the lecture.
Amazing car, thanks for sharing with us
Hi Harry, how can anybody give you a thumbs down on this video I just do not know. I thought it was great.you must be a very much respected and trusted ex car journalist to be lent that car. One minute 220hp case tractor next a 6or7 million pound Ferrari .what a guy.
I haven't even seen the video yet... but it's clear Harry has "connections".
Must be nice
Guy who produced top automotive magazine for almost 2 decades....has connections to automotive industry.
Very insightful, captain Obvious
@@mothaybabonnam5632 hahaha

Proper treat! This must be a one off. Thanks for this.
"Bloody Brilliant" fantastic two word summary in Harry's loveable style 👌
Harry does 'the Wacky Races'. =) After Jay Leno, this car's owner is the Vice President of the 'More Money than Brains Club'
Bit unfair on Jay Leno :)
@@KewlBee Hear Jay announce it himself at the 1:05 mark here: czcams.com/video/10q9_pB6unU/video.html
@@KewlBee I agree completely. Leno is a gem. Sure he has pots of money but he spends a lot of it on his passion and then lets anyone come along for the ride. Just feel sorry for him living where he does....
oh wow - was driving up to Blenheim the other day and saw this parked outside a pub! Was thinking - 'what on earth is that':)
You just made that up
What an absolute beauty! Very special indeed.
Harry in heaven - Bloody Brilliant!
My god, this car is so quirky looking and beautiful.
Clicked "like" before Harry'd uttered a word!
What an absolute classic style with the ridiculously gorgeous fin. And that orchestra screaming out LOOK AT ME
Thanks for sharing this glorious machine.
❤️❤️❤️👌🏻
The sweep of the fenders, especially at the rear, recall to me Tom Tjaarda at his best. This is wonderful. Thank you so much.
"The Emperor's new clothes".
The perfect Emperors car for the complete emperors clothing madness that is 2020🤔
When compared to earlier Touring creations, as shown in the montage, this is poorly resolved; the tacky badge sums it up IMO
Well said. It is ok, but is nothing close to the Ferrari donor car. Sorry, Harry, this doesn't seem like a future classic.
I am glad that I did not have to be the first to say 'the emperor's clothes'. This car is silly in the way that pro-wrestlers are 'silly'. The useless stabilizer fin; the 'racing' numbers; the helmets with their tiny little fins; the oversize exhaust tips that add only weight; the cartoon colored interior; this is just so boy-racer. Carrozzeria Touring is a serious design shop, but this feels like the beginning of the end.
Next Harry's Garage video..."I've sold the farm and bought a Touring Superleggera Aero 3!".
Awesome, all credit to the owner to allow it to be driven by other special people!😍👍👏
The very definition of a 'singular' experience...
Very nice!
Love the engine and, no that's all.
The interior cockpit looks really nice but so bare with no manual gear knob. I hate that part about the future
GLORIOUS design Harry.......what a fabulous looking car. You lucky devil!!
Wow!!!! for the first time I will learn about the new supercar from your channel
