Man this one hurt. I don't get too attached to celebrities usually, but Toby was unique for me. I grew up on him. I respected him. And he had a lot of fun in his music. He will always hold a special place in my heart with the amount of memories I have stored away listening to his music. RIP to a legend of country music, american patriot, and most important a true family man.
My sister passed away in her nursing home, just this Sunday.
It was sudden, which is a shock, but, you know? She didn't have to linger in pain, or get really old ( she was 76).
Life goes on, and, your circle grows smaller.

Thanks Ricky for putting this out there. Toby was one-of-a-kind. I had the privilege of meeting him in Norman, Ok and twice more at Hot Springs, Ar at Oaklawn at the horse races. Toby loved horse racing. RIP Toby.

Rick you are amazing as a man-kind, introspective and bring hope. I can’t thank you enough. I lived toby Keith too. In 1193 I was 25 years old when he got big-I’d drive an hour to my 3rd grade teaching job and listen to him and other country greats in that day. Not even sure how I got into it but you had to rely on the radio and I did!
Anyway-you are right! Life goes so so so so fast. I’m almost 56 and my husband is 61. We’ve lost 5 people in their 50s-70s the last year or two. His best friend, my dad, my cousin-and other friends. Love them here and know like you say it’s just another part of the journey. It’s hard-but we all go through it. You talking about your dad makes me think of mine the same way. I’m going to try and post his pic if I can here as losing the great Toby Keith, just makes me hope my dad is listening to him heaven
