In reality it is better to advance the Guideliner over a balloon when it reaches the coronary vessel, in a way to minimize possible traumatic injury to vessel wall. If resistance is encountered, just inflate the balloon and carefully advance the Guideliner while deflating the balloon. Avoid leaving the Guideliner in a fully active position for prolonged times, and always control the symptoms and pressure readings, retrieving it to a more passive position if necessary.
