I have one question for you Sir, why your channel doesn’t have a hundreds of thousands of subscribers, I am a mechanic and video editor and I haven’t seen a really nice detailed video about Pinion Seal replacement. You are a pro bro.
I am a 49 years old and have one advice to you to succeed online, make a bunch of shorts with very nice editing even if the idea of the shorts is repeated plenty of time from different content makers, a lot of shorts with nice editing get you more subscribers. Good luck brother

Thanks so much. My son and I replaced his seal today. We had all the tools we needed because we watched your video several times. Instructions were perfect. Fingers crossed it fixed the leak.

Nicely done. I like the measurement technique instead of counting threads. Gave me confidence to take on the job if the light weep i have now turns into a drip on the garage floor.

Thanks for the video! I think I need to do this soon. No drips, but I have a wet looking ring around my pinion seal area.

Seems like your breather tube needs to be relocated if you didn't do this already, which is why you had the chocolate milkshake. I moved mine up to the rear taillight area.

      You're right

Move it? Most likely I would think it was clogged, unable for the hot gases to escape, thus putting too much pressure on the seals.

Why make marks on rear drive shaft? You can put it back randomly. The shaft is balanced in factory.

Nice video. If anything, I'd say pull the front wheels onto ramps and then let the vehicle sit for a while. Shouldn't have much fluid to work around then.

great informative video, i'm having the same issue with my frontier.. do you happen to have the national part number for the pinion seal you used?

I have my axle pulled just waiting for the seal at the parts place. It's 1:00 golf at 5:00. Wish me luck

I completed the seal and got to golf on time. The hardest part was removing the 30mm nut. I used my old Huskey air impact which made it easy. You will need a 14mm and 10mm Allen to replace the oil. Thanks for your help

How much torque is needed to get that nut back on? Someone told me it was 500ftlbs, is that only when the crush is being installed? Just worried I'm not going to be able to get the nut back on correctly if I attempt this myself...

    • @mixmovementtv3654
      @mixmovementtv3654  Před 3 měsíci

That's why you need to put a mark on it.

@@mixmovementtv3654I get the mark part, I was curious how much torque is actually needed for the nut to know if my impact is strong enough.

Will this same technique work for a Pro-4x/OR m226 version?

Will a 4 inch bearing puller go around and grab that case? Or do I need a 6 inch one?

Good question, honestly I'm not exactly sure but better to have the longer one.

Rear diff pinion seal leaks because diff breather valve gets clogged or this happens regardless?
