Die hard Padre/Charger fan here. Good buddy of mine (Dodger fan) bought me and 3 other Dodger buddies tix to this game. Had bday plans with family and my Dad said "Go to that game. When will you ever get to experience something like that again?". Wife gave me the ok to drive down to SD from LA and there we were Field level on the 3rd base line. Literally in line with 3rd base. My buddy who bought the tix was so hammered he couldn't keep his shit talking to a bearable level. I spent the first 6 innings fending off fellow fans and security because they all wanted his head on a stick. It was that bad haha. We were straight and kept it cool with everyone around us but man did I have my hands full. That is up until the 7th inning when the sheer volume and straight-up chaos that ensued completely drowned him out. I will never forget being a part of that crowd and the adrenaline-filled joy it brought me. So much so that I watch the highlights every so often to relive it like a feen chasing his first high. This is the first time I've seen the full-inning play out on the broadcast. To this day, my buddy apologizes/ thanks me for saving him that night and I tell him I would do it again any day...especially this night haha.
proud to say, I WAS THERE....15 rows above 3rd base. Which was pretty much the same section I was in, in 2008 when the Padres couldn't score more than one freakin' run in a 22 inning game against the Rockies..lost 2-1 to the Rocks. Had a migraine so bad when I left in the 20th inning, my brother had to drive because I could barely keep my eyes open my head hurt so much. So, beating LA in Game 4, was better than sex...for just one night.

Instant Classic. No we couldn't pull it off against the Phillies, but we sure as hell stuck it to two 100+ win teams in the playoffs and showed LA we are not little brother anymore.

That crowd is fire. Best in baseball. I remember watching the Phillies crowd during the NLCS and they really couldn't sustain the energy. I guess they had the meat sweats from all of those cheesesteaks.
You can tell when a crowd is artificially hyped and purely prompted by a sound guy. This was a city waiting for this for decades. Stands were shaking, best game I have been to in my life.

who is the color commentator? Watching the game from the padres rally in the 7th, the color commentator is so knowledgeable and has such a good voice. really adds to the game. the main commentator is great as well.
I remember when my memory began they used to sell baseball folders made out of cardboard , baseball players drawn inside the folder you had your multiplications , each coming person has a story.long live baseball

as someone who phased out of baseball for a couple years (played since i was 5, im now 21) and came back to it, holy shit what is that dodgers lineup, legit their entire lineup were star players from other teams, betts,turner,freeman,ohtani how did this team ever lose
My late and old boss (expert in baseball) often told me 'never to move my legs' before swinging my bat... and also taught me where to strike the ball to (left or right)... and that home-runs depended on what I do the night before the games. LOL! Fortunately, he was right!

@@fukkincalderonz with the Dodgers staff, I would beg to differ. Playoffs, runs are hard to come by, inherently. Dodgers I’m sure were at the top, in terms of pitching last year. Again, San Diego flat out beat that team. I wouldn’t say that the Dodgers handed it to them.

Yeah that 1-12 in extras was just extremely unlucky. We still have the same core, we just need to replace Snell with a somewhat comparable arm and we'll be right in the thick of the hunt for sure.
