Rip: “I’m widely read”
I think you mean wide AND red!!!
LoL 😂 Timestamp?
That's Gold Jerry... Gold!!!
"Hey, Rip, I'm 17 yrs-old, three feet tall and weigh 700 lbs."
Rip:
"Ok, good, what are your numbers?"
🤣
Rip: Your a lightweight you need to eat more I'd like to see you at 825

I'm fascinated by the way this guy's hands twitch while he talks. His hands should have their own channel. Each. One channel per hand. Thank you.
Maybe starting stages of Parkinson's disease hope not though.
@@SpodyOdy I had a similar thought. Something's going on for sure.
he is talking with his hands but too lazy to lift em up
Too much strength to be contained. One slip in concentration and snap!-the tabletop gets crushed by his mighty pinch.
It’s getting to where I don’t even listen to these for information anymore, but just for the pleasure of hearing the callers get shit on.
Beginning of the call:
"Holy shit, is this actually Rip?! This is so awesome; I can't believe I'm talking to you!"
After the call:
What a dick..
He's got the Handle on the Law schtick down
As a prison guard myself you are correct. I cannot read but I can count to five and understand pictures this has helped immensely with the blue book. Therefore my NLP has been moving along fine in between abusing the inmates and helping the boys smuggle black tar heroine for some cash on the side to purchase anabolic steroids. Thanks rip and the boys from Texas!
Thank you for you service, Evan. And thanks to your helper for reading this response to you.
Rip: Brent Carter looks like shit...
Delgadillo: people think he's your son.
Rip: why is that?
Delgadillo: he looks like you.
😂
appreciate your podcast especially during these crazy times, thank you coach rip and the SS team
You need to find better podcasts lol
I'm 6'8" 150 lbs, why is my deadlift stuck?
1:26:30 Look how agitated Rip's claw gets when he mentions lobster bisque

Caller squatting a top set of 5 and 2 back off sets at 95 % of 5RM while calling about the Press.
Rip "I'm not going to tell you to do back off sets on your squat. I don't know where you picked that up, but that's not my programming and I don't advise it."
PPST3 page 99, Advanced Novice Section. "Example Trainee: Using 5RM + 2 back off sets and frequency reduction."
Table Illustrating this concept.
I guess Andy Baker wrote this section then?
I’ve been wondering about that!
Looking ESPECIALLY PINK today, m`lord
Me showing up at a Starting Strength seminar.
Rip: “Go home. Come back when you’ve gained 40 pounds.”
Happy birthday, Mark Rippetoe!
Tuba 6. That is "the" elite, covert, musical team. They really blow!!🎺🎺🎺
I play the fallopian tuba.
@@dard4642 👍
This is better than comedy specials on Netflix.
Rip should really think about getting a sponsorship from Golden Corral for these videos.
This would probably be a segment of customers they'd lose money on. :D
Mark Rippetoe callsign is now “tuba six”
Its nice you share the comments from the haters, otherwise no one would ever believe the things people write
I laughed out loud when I heard small bones Derek's breakfast & lunch. So many 'hard gainers' just have absolutely no frame of reference for how much big strong people typically eat. 6'8 450lb strongman Brian Shaw said eating is actually the hardest part of his lifestyle since people that big literally have to force feed themselves most meals of every day to get the calories in.
Derek has obviously never heard of the J.M. Blakely weight gain program.
When Rip tries to speak correctly he sounds like a black comic from the 90's doing white guy voice.
Dave Chappelle's white person impression
I want to go on and get yelled at for being 6’3 and 230lb
Rip is a badass! I love this dude!
YES! Nick got a mic and camera view. Awesome
”The doctor says i’ve got high cholesterol” perfect!
" Do I look like a guy with hemorrhoids?" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Happy frahdee
Why is Rip the only one on the internet who understands that you have to grow a gut because gut is muscle? Nobody can be strong without growing a gut, back, and an ass.
Everybody else wants to be pretty and have their delts capped and their biceps peaked.
Hopefully you're being sarcastic
Abs back and lower body are the foundation of strength
Regarding potassium supplementation as a remedy for muscle cramps (I'm sure Rip knows this very well, but he doesn't have time to comment on everything in the podcast), that advice is ONLY for people with NORMAL kidney function. It is indeed very hard to take too much potassium orally, so much that it leads to hyperkalemia, for people with working kidneys. The kidneys have very high capacity to excrete excess potassium. But if your kidney function is impaired, you can have too high potassium intake, and it is one of the main reason for death in people with chronic kidney disease. The risk for hyperkalemia is also increased if you use blood pressure lowering agents like ACE-inhibitors or ARBs (like Valsartan).
As for salt (as in sodium), again, if you have impaired kidney function (beyond CKD stage 4 at least), too high sodium intake can give you volume overload (you get thirsty and drink more, and your kidneys can't keep up the excretion rate), leading to high blood pressure and other stuff you don't want to have.
I'm sure most of you with impaired kidney function know this stuff already, but just wanted to make sure... Sorry, I'm a nephrologist.
57:00 " I have tiny bones, my back hurts and I have a 30in waist. I'm 160lb body weight, I ate a boiled egg and tuna"
Am I wrong to assume Rip will call everyone a puss after every question.. Priceless call.
🤣🤣🤣
Tuna fish salad 😂 My man Derek is eating his daughter’s meals!
This podcast was hilarious! Made my day! Keep it up pink lobster claw man.
It's fun to watch Rip's face get visibly friendlier when he pronounces his words correctly.
Did not expect to hear Richard Feynman’s name on an episode of Starting Strength.
Best podcast yet.
This is a great format. Please look into doing this more often.
I will now be doing kegels as prehab before and after every squat session.
I was the guy who made the positive experience comment, i’m very happy to be a part of the bottom 3%
Depends on whether you were joking or not!
Nice. You have flat feet as well?
@@sebastianviruzab7986 how did you know that?

@@sebastianviruzab7986 i’m concerned now, i do have flat feet, and i did comment that on the live show, but other than that, you shouldn’t know, unless you stand outside my window
Someone just donated $100... "is that what that annoying noise was?? I rather not deal with that noise and not have the 100 dollars.."
That's my Rip...LOL.
The description 🤣🤣🤣, and rips california accent is epic.
I've never met his mother.. That I know of
I like the Nick cam.
Hey Uncle Pink, Happy Birthday! :)
I worked at a United States Penitentiary for a while. Your assessment about reading and writing (lack thereof) is kind of true. I hate to admit it... LOL
I'm 6 foot.
What do you weigh?
215
*Rips blood pressure* +++++++++
There are no dumb questions.
There are only dumb questioners.
So the best advice I heard is “Go to Golden Corral and stay to 6pm” if you want to get strong!😂😂
How true that is!
Rip, the fookin' BEST!
Kid who rip told to learn the hammer should just do highland games instead. Way easier to get into on a casual level to start
How many times does Rip have to tell people to "gain more weight" and "deadlift the damn bar" before people stop calling in with the same question?
Imagine being asked the same questions for 30 years and you still have to answer the same damn question every time
One of the funniest episodes despite the drudgery of dumb questions.
Rips should just make a chart with target body weight for height.
Does anybody know when the next live Q&A is?
Hey rip I’m 7 ft weight about 105lbs. 8ft wingspan. Deadlift stalled at about 65lbs. I think it’s my short arms.. what do you think?
I don't know what would Richard Feynman answer to the question "is there such thing as gravity", but it's a great question, because physicist (or an aspiring one) isn't supposed to blindly accept such things, he should be able to explain why he thinks it is the best solution to the problem
and before Newton there were different views on that
That Derry from Kentucky guy was very nice. He should be a recurring character of the podcast.
Hey Nick,
I'm from ID and I went to school in Boise. Is there any way for me to get one of the shirts Rip is wearing, without having to go to Boise?
Contact Dave and see if he can send you one: boise.startingstrengthgyms.com/
Rip, glad we're of like mind
I choked on my ziti when you said TWOOO by SIXXX
Wait, we've got a producer-cam setup now?!
You guys are trying to knock Crowder off his perch!
Mark Rippetoe is WIDELY RED
Just a little note about potassium. They have "heart healthy" salts in supermarkets that have lower levels of sodium because they're actually part NaCl (sodium chloride) and KCl (potassium chloride). Some of these "heart healthy" salts have a bigger ratio of potassium to sodium, some and just pure potassium. Like Mark, I'm in Texas, and I always cramp during the summer, despite easily drinking over a gallon of water a day, so I started putting KCl in my water. Boy oh boy, you have to titrate that stuff slowly or you're going to be shitting half a dozen times a day, and I wouldn't even call it shitting so much as it's pissing out of your ass. So be careful, and have fun.
chapter numbers ARE different in Canada. We use the Canuck Standard for books lol
Ooh yeaah!
Nice word Nick “capitalisation” I’ve never used or heard this word before in this context of capital letter usage. Normally it’s expensing assets.
Can be both of course and can be spelled ‘capitalization’ as well.
@@cynthiagraham4046 - USA like to put “z” in spellings instead of “S”
Poor Jacob. Probably had a good question.
Happy Birthday, dear pink man!
Its a good thing 🦞 never die of old age
The guy that says there's no dumb questions is getting ready to ask some.
It’s Pink and it’s FriDEE!
I ain’t no fancy pantsy physician like old Doc Feynman but I guess that “is there such a thing as gravity?” Is not as dumb as it sounds
Brent Carter defnitly is Rips son, no way that ain't Rippertoe genetics. If not he is some kind of clonetrooper ...
Rips posh voices cracks me up
Jack from Cincinnati's lifts are twice mine. I'm a wimp.

The audiobook has 57 Chapters, but 21 is about deadlift back position.
Is it acceptable to lift with gloves when it’s 40 degrees in my garage? 🥶
HAHAHAHA "Frideee, Saterdee, Sundee, Mondee, Tuesdee, Wensdee, Thursdee"
It will be a “tuba six” from now on.
“Figure it out cus you just named 3 different federations” 😂 🤣
Spinach and blueberries are great for potassium
🇺🇸
Let's all be honest, Rip seems like he has a blackberry bush going on down there.
One bowl of jambalaya.....
I wish I could eat just one bowl and think I was full. Something like that is a three bowl minimum.
Nobody is strong at that height and body weight, except Dr. Feigenbaum and Dr. Baraki
That comment from that hater with the BMI of 35 made me really laugh hard. That one giant from iceland, what's his name, i think Hafthor Björnsen, has a BMI of over 40. Look him up, he is 2meter and some and weighs 210 kilos. Now that guy has a freaking body.
4:05 shout out to Richard Fay-man
Last week, I learned the word "flea-botomist." I guess that's the medical technician in charge of delousing.
The new tom hanks movie in netflix is a story from wichita falls 1870. If you are interested...
What is a back off sets?
In some lifting protocols, people will work up to a one-rep max (or double or triple, max weight), then "back-off" the weight to where they can do sets of 5 or 8 or whatever.
@@dard4642 thanks for the explanation:)
@@snakebite961 for sure!
Maybe that is the new T-Shirt: Gain Weight and do the Program 😅
There is also a difference between external and internal hemorrhoid's. Imagine getting an external hemorrhoid doing bootcamp. I can tell you....not fun.
I’m getting dejavu. Haven’t we heard this already
Maybe they released parts of this earlier I also feel like I have seen parts of this before.

I am 5''11 tall and i weigh 182 pounds. I do barbell training for 1 year now. My numbers. Bench 300, Squat 360, Deadlift 625, Press 170 and Pendlay row 265.
Am i strong RIP. Oh i am 36 years old and almost 37. Let me know Rip.
You could be way stronger if you weigh 200 pounds. But these are impressive numbers I would say.
I'm jealous of New Zealanders tbh
Lol, 😀
Politics aside I intrested in your opinion on guns. Do you have any interest in guns or are you a hobbyist shooter or collector or nothing at all. I find I agree with you on your opinions on most things just curious
He did videos with warrior poet society so probably all of the above
From what I've seen he owns guns and likes them in general. He's no high round count operator-competitor type. He puts a few rounds down range now and again from what I can tell. Seems to like his .44 revolver.
the pink complexion is explained by the hemorrhoids lol
The minute something other than how heavy the bar was, how good your form was, and how heavy you are is taken into consideration the competition's legitimacy begins to erode. Politics has been the one word epitaph of countless sport leagues. Do you really want a trophy or medal knowing that someone who doesn't wear a mask could have had a higher total than you? Do you want to be known as the world's strongest man knowing that 10 of the top guys didn't show up this year because there's a new steroid ban? Sticking with a governing body that makes decisions like that will leave you with only one thing that can be certain: One day all your hard work to satisfy them will have been a waste of your time.
Today I learned: I am not strong, and I need to gain weight.
Over/under 50.5 boogers under Ripp`s chair?
