They come across Tyr by accident mostly; the side quest is really investigating pieces of debris thats fallen off Asgard into all of the realms and to clear the remaining enemies there. In Niflheim, they come across this prison and find Tyr. You can then find Tyr in the other realms as well where he says a line or two catching up to what he's missed. He seems more zen like, doing yoga and meditation.
Oh, so that's how you find him?
Yep. Go to the Raven Tree, and the chunk of prison is there.
There’s a ton a side content you miss watching videos vs playing the game. A good example of this is the frozen lightning bolt in Vanaheim.
Basically Thor got blackout drunk and fought with Faye. (AKA Laufey/Loki’s mother)
Hence why he says “this feels familiar” when one is created during his first fight with Kratos.
A very large portion of the side quests have different dialogue depending on whether Atreus or Freya is with you as well.
Also, the traveler that jumps from the sky boat in a Vanaheim survives and is now taking care of Chaurli the turtle.
Once you free him, Tyr can be found in select places in every realm, doing different things, refamiliarizing himself with what happened. The dialogue isn't hugely important, but its nice to see. I will say, it was a bit anticlimacting just finding Tyr like that after all the buildup the game put on him, and i get it was setup for the future storyline however it could've been a bit more detailed, but imo the Valhalla DLC more than makes up for that.
On another note you can actually kinda see the difference between Odin Tyr and real Tyr, the real one even after centuries of imprisonment didn't blindly follow his rescuers around. He wants his own space and set boundaries right away, Odin as Tyr really tried to be a people pleaser, the real one is way more assertive, as a god of war would be.
Also yeah, the shield madies have a bit of a fangirl club for Kratos since hes all about combat, and they hate Gna, so they were all about her wings getting ripped off like Kratos originally did to them, its quite funny
You also have to check out the side quest in Vanihiem about the frozen lightning bolt. Brings a lot more context to Thor and another "certain character"
Reading Gna's journal just goes to show that Freya is more alike than Kratos than we anticipated. Even in the prequel, she said that she saw herself in Kratos more than she thought. Since meeting him, she knew that it was something about him that she could relate. She was willing to do whatever it took for her own reasons and then when things backfire, there's no accountability. That's why I said her and Kratos are good together and would make a powerful couple.
Also, say what you will about Athena but she, the Oracle, Atlas, and other people have told Kratos not to take certain paths because it's not going to end well. Yeah she had a part with the Pandora Box situation but Kratos still made those choices with Ares and had to suffer the consequences.
But dope reaction, can't wait to see y'all react to Valhalla. I just beat that not too long ago and I know y'all going like it. All I'm going say as far as the "Broken Prison" side mission: everything is going make sense in Valhalla.
Thank you for this comment. These kinds of discussions are what I love about the god of war series. Each character in this game can be broken down an analyzed.
Yeah, people tend to forget that, despite being manipulated by the gods, Kratos has made some fucked up decisions himself, he's not completely free of blame for everything that happened.
@@VitorGSM yeah he was like Sandman. He's not a bad person, just had bad luck
It wasn't a prequel...
I really don’t want this to be over I really enjoyed y’all reaction
We don’t either. We’ve enjoyed our journey.
Gna was cookin in her journal lmao straight facts about freya
Lol hahahahaha definitely
They're showing multiple ways how Kratos has grown in God Of War Ragnarök. One of them is Gna.
At one point in the past Kratos would've ripped off her wings.
My first playthrough when I got to fighting Gna I was actually expecting Kratos to rip her wings off at the end of the fight. Since that's what happened in God Of War (2018) that's what I was expecting.
I look forward to seeing you react to God Of War Ragnarök Valhalla aka GOWRV.
Tyr has a completely different personality though.. just from that small dialog alone you can tell the difference just in the voice acting
watch the side quest in Vanaheim. It's a story yall would be interested in
THIS! It is probably the most interesting side quest lore wise, but, yeah, unrelated to Valhalla.
now that you have seen this, you can go back to see all the scenes when Odin is acting as Tyr, read the subtitle and read the name "Tyr", you will notice it is spelled differently when compared to the real Tyr's name as well as when other characters said the word "Tyr".
So they have been hinting all over the game that Tyr is not real.
Also don't know if you have seen the Raven Keeper yet, that tells you more horrible things Obin have done to obtain the green Raven spies
the story of the ravens is just sad
@2:56 even though the video never gets a good look at the dwarf, he is found elsewhere. You see that dwarf on a bridge in Svartlfheim, he spits over the side as Kratos and Atreus row into Nidavillier for the first time. In reality that dwarf was actually Odin in disguise.
You find tyr throughout realms doing positions from different mythologies. The game developers say it's a hint to the future of Gow.
Fun fact: Dïnnr the octopus tells you exactly where Týr is the first time you ask. The realm seed she gives you is for Níflheim.
I love how ya’ll explain things before, during and after watching the video and voice y’all opinion! It gives me better understanding of this story!
That background with the flying cars look awesome..& here we are in 2024 still with no flying cars when we thought we were going to have flying car back then since year 2000 lol
Seeing the Gna fight is one thing...actually going against this nightmare brings a whole different emotion! 🤣
Gna is a coward she followed them through the tear... she abandoned asgard so early... wow
Now you could still watch Kratos visiting Artreus, Fenrir and Angroboda, see the mourning wife of Ragnarok and watch Thrud find Thor's hammer.
Nice to see that they are aware of Kratos, Mimir, and Freya finding the real Týr. However, it is disappointing that they haven't learned the true story behind the frozen lightning in Vanaheim.
So if you travel to some of the other realms you can find Tyr doing different things like meditating, etc. There is more dialogue about why they freed him….. kinda
There was a scene where The find Bauler's dragon and Freya says that he puts you through so much and apologizes. Kratos states that Odin had a hand in it too
Tyr's side quest does feel a lil open ended but I think that was by design. Apparently he teases potential locations for where another game could go. And thats coming from the Director. After you free him you can see him in specific locations where he's doing some sort of movement or action that represents another pantheon or something. So in a way Tyr's side mission was meant to be a teaser.
What other locations you think seen?
@@black-5469Even in the 2018 game, we saw on Tyrs shrine the 4 symbols of the lands he traveled. We can reasonably assume he visited Greece, Japan, and Egypt.
You think Tyr was acting just like Odin? As I recall Odin-Tyr flipped out and acted like a broken man when Kratos walked in. Real Tyr gets sprung by a God killer, Frigg, and his decapitated friend is just like "oh, Ragnarok happened? That's neat. If you'll excuse me."
They didnt forget about the giant turtle 🐢 in the wood left in the snow
If you take a look at GOW 4 (2018), in Odin's secret room at Helheim, when Mimir look at the missing panel of Tyr, you'll see 4 symbol of Greece, Northern Europe, Egypt and Japan. And a lil bit spoil here is, in GOW Valhalla, Tyr uses 4 type of weapons: Spear with Round Shield like Greek army, the big blade like Birgir's blade in Ragnarok, twin Khopesh blades like Egypt royal palace guard and the last one is Katana
When I finished hunting "The eyes of Odin" and came to Nifilheim to check on the Raven tree, Mimir got my attention with the prison.
Finding and fighting Gná in Muspelheim was crazy and she was far worse than Sigrun it took 17 tries to take her down and again THE FUCKING WING ATTACKS WERE THE ONLY THING THROWING ME OFF! But I found her after I took down the Berserker King.
Speaking of Berserkers: You got to take a look at the Berserker gravestones
I've done everything this game has to offer except beating Hrolf, the Berserker King and beating Gna. Two absolutely brutal fights
You can do it! If I can you can!
I found the triple berserker fight far more difficult than the berserker king.
Then I realized you could unlock the camera in settings and beat them in a few attempts. (On GMGoW)
@@BrandonWestfall What camera settings did you use?
@@coreyhunt5966 I honestly don’t remember what the setting is but it allows you to move the camera freely when locked onto a target.
It may be under accessibility.
Awesome video.
So little side note. Tyr isnt the only person Odin imitated during the game. The dwarf that was dead in the prison, Kratos and Atreus passed him as well. When you first go to Nidivller the dwarfs all go into their homes to hide, one however spits in their direction before going into a building. That was Odin, it’s a small thing but Odin was watching Kratos and Atreus from the start.
wait wtf, really? never heard of that one before
@@MrAlaverge1 yes Cory Barlog himself said it. It’s also such a small moment many people just don’t even see the dwarf. If you look for him he’s the dwarf standing on a bridge and spits in Kratos and Atreus direction.
Odin had to keep him as a prisoner in order to masquerade as him
Btw in this prison there is a person odin transformed into to, so that he could spit on kratos 😂
If you look back when Odin is Tyr the subtitles show it as Tyr.
When they are talking to the real Týr it has the accent over the y.
You're also invited to watch the viking funeral of brok.
It's already on the channel.
Odin imprisoned the prisoners so he could shapeshift as them. They need to be alive so he can take their form.
When Kratos & Atreus first get to Nidavellir, they go under a bridge. On top of that bridge is a "dwarf" who spits in the water.
You can actually find Tyr in all the realms when you explore it and there’s more dialogue he has
Definitely not needed for it's own video but after you free tyr here you can encounter him in all the other realms. May be worth a watch either at the beginning of the Ragnarok vid or just offline on y'all's own time :)
Hope you guys react to the Valhalla DLC. That’s where Tyr really gets his time to shine and shows Kratos was a War God truly should be.
The only thing left would be the crater lore and all that, but it's mostly to do with Thor, Faye, Birgir, and some other oddballs
Tyr is a god owar before Odin was but he is also a god of justice, war. victory and self sacrifice... which is why i wanna get Tyr and Fenrir tattoo.
Týr also appears throughout the world with additional dialog after you find him in prison.
Notice how the real Týr has the accent on his name but fake is just Tyr with no accent on the Y.
Yall need to look up the side quests that tells the story of Thor and kratos wife fighting a why it’s two different frozen lightning in two different realms
I think the Tyr part just felt a bit awkward because it was just NPC dialogue and it doesn’t help that people have PTSD and are hesitant to believe it’s really him which compounds that feeling. It would’ve felt more satisfying had there been a real cinematic, even if it was more or less the same, simply mo capping a short scene and a touch of music with a stronger sense of closure and somewhat of triumph that they’ve truly found the REAL Tyr. Something like escorting him out of the prison while having a short conversation and at the end a parting of ways seeing him off. It would make the player a bit more satisfied and reassured thinking “good for him” as he takes off with his long awaited freedom
Actually in the main game you can find Tyr in numerous realms.
When you get to Valhalla, then you will understand.
Did get to the funeral?
you should really look into the crater storyline as well as what transpires in alfheim after ragnarok just to be completely informed of the god of war verse
Flower to pick up, ignores it
The Oath to the End
Still missed some things with Tyr.
Whats funny is Gna is the hardest battle in the entire game and you can skip it 😂. Actually the 2 hsrdest battles are side quest and then in 3rd place is the first fight against OdinIf you guys watch IGN interview about GOW Ragnarok you will see that you actually see one of Odin's other disguises during game play. Also it breaks down the mindset of the developers
Niflheim isn't a part of Helheim (in the this game). It's another realm.
Now to Valhalla 😁😁😁
Onward!
The side quest is to collect the pieces of Asgard that fell. As u journey to each piece, you come across different characters from the game to see their endings. Tyr is your guide in the Valhalla dlc
I keep forgetting they do reactions on Patreon so the inner me wants to say, "don't spoil it" but 🤣
The story continues... lol enjoy guys
There is a video that talk about the theory on who might be the real antagonist in the GOW series i thought y'all might be interested in it since u both got different views
dont know anyone if has mentioned this but if u have subtitles on the real tyr has an accent on the Y and the fake one doesnt
Love from Pakistan ❤❤❤❤
You guys need to react to God of war valhalla next
You get more context if you play the game!
Was this on Patrons early access?
yes.
Sòfna Brok
Please watch God of War Ragnarok animated
Peep this y’all hear me out. Do the original exorcist and part 3 which is the real part 2. Forget about number 2 though it’s dogshit.
