Chalo, Dekh Ke: A Smart Zebra Crossing - IFTP 2020

This solution was presented at Invent For The Planet (IFTP) 2020, an intensive 48-hour design thinking marathon, hosted at Habib University in collaboration with the Texas A&M Engineering College.

According to statistics, a considerable portion of road accidents happen at zebra crossing as a consequence of pedestrians being distracted while using their smartphones.
Our solution proposed a simple, sustainable and efficient approach to solve this problem by providing detection and 3 lines of defence (Visual, Auditory, Sensory) to catch the pedestrians attention, in the event that they are distracted and/or it isn't safe to cross.
