      I really like Martin Sheen's acting skills. He seems like a very nice man as well. I know nothing about this character he wanted to play, but I am impressed that he's so amazed by someone who said he just wanted to be up in the sky. I just don't understand what the impressiveness of it is. Of course, everyone is interested in different thighs. I personally think a person who does not care about anything else in the world, but to fly, would not be someone I'd necessarily put up on a pedestal. I'm not saying he was a bad person, I'm just saying there are so many people that care about actual problems on Earth and try to make the World a better place. He describes this man as his hero.

    Gary Powers always thought that Lee Harvey Oswald was responsible for providing the Ruskis with altitude information which enabled them to shoot down his U2. There was a Cold War intelligence operation afoot here. The C.I.A. and the O.N.I (Office of Naval Intelligence) did not want any rapprochement with the Soviet Union whereas Ike did. By the time JFK assumed office the American Military and the intelligence services were advocating for a surprise first nuclear strike. JFK is quoted as calling the Joint Chiefs "lunatics".
    LHO had been placed in country as part of the "false defector" program run by the two intelligence services in the mid to late Fifties. Many other Marines participated as well so the op is easily verifiable. Contrary to history books, LHO was a loyal Marine until the day he was gunned down surrounded by Dallas "cops" and there is no indication in all of the research that the U.S. Navy took any part in the assassination of JFK. LHO was following orders when divulging Top Secret info. There was a summit talk scheduled between Ike and Khrushchev which was canceled over the Powers Incident. Mission accomplished by LHO and his handlers.

    • @IrishCarney
      @IrishCarney Před 3 lety

      Oswald was erratic and unreliable and would never have been trusted by any intelligence agency on either side to do anything important. He was a fanatical Marxist who hated the USA and shot JFK out of that malice, plus seeking fame. The Dallas Police did not knowingly allow Oswald to be shot; obviously they would not have wanted to compound the embarrassment of JFK's death in their city with his shooter dying in their custody. Have some modicum of common sense.

      @IrishCarney Před 3 lety

      @@MarkRoberts-bj2me It's not discredited at all. And you have no refutation of anything I said, just name calling. There's no credible motivation for any conspiracy, no credible way it could have operated, and no credible way it could fit the facts we know. For instance, Oswald did it (his gun, his bullets, his fingerprints on the gun, he ran from the scene and shot an officer who tried to stop him). And an actual conspiracy would either have picked him up right at the Depository to kill him or (less likely) whisk him to safety instead of risking him being apprehended and questioned for who knows how long.

If a part, in this case a reallife person, and his story mean so much to you that you would rather refuse to do the film in the first place than being part of a bad (at least mediocre) biopic that doesn't do him justice, you would regret having done it at some point in the future! 🤷🏻‍♀️ He probably only regretted it because his idol died not long afterwards
