Yes, the mighty HAGGARD. One of the most mindblowing bands in the world and the best fusion of classical music and metal. This song is included in a conceptual album about Nostradamus and his prophecies. The next album is even better and goes about Galileo's struggle with the church... I suggest for more Haggard "Per aspera ad Astra", "Eppur si muove", "Of a might divine", "The observer", "Upon falling autumn leaves", all of them brilliant masterpieces. I suggest you to listen to them in the studio albums, where you may hear much more details than in their live performances (there are good lyric videos to do so). And also I suggest more THERION, "Son of the Sun" (Gothic live 2007) or Ginnungagap (Live in Budapest 2007) for it's about time you know the best metal soprano, the amazing Lori Lewis..

This is the first song I listen to of this band and yours is my exact same reaction.
Haggard, a great band, they are magical, powerful. Upon fallen Autumn leaves, Eppur si mouve, Herr Maneling and more more great songs to react.
Haggard sadly only produced 4 albums but each one of them is a genuine masterpiece. As for the songs listen to the suggestions of rafael smerdou franke (comment below), to begin with...

Haggard has been around since 1989. It is a shame that their 2012 album was postponed indefinitely. I love the piano parts in this song.
Asis himself commented on a video I watched last year and said there is another album coming!
Brings me back to gothic of the late 90s and early 2000s.
On their website, they plan a concert in Nuremberg next September. They are still active, but hardly producing new albums for now.
Yes, great band with a unique style. It cannot be classified as a genre, unless we speak we name it "Haggard" style :-D
