That bar should have never put Riley out, that to me is a big time law suit. How sad!!!! They should be held liable

@@ivet6585 agree, they over served which is illegal then tried to dodge liability by kicking him into public streets where he becomes a danger to himself and others. Should be law to require to keep the frunks in a security hold or police called or Uber or something not just dumping outside.

That doesn't explain who removed his wallet boots or pants. Already confirmed the river would not of caused pants or boots to come off!!

That is great news that they are getting the area safer with new fences and lights! I think that sends a positive message. Whatever happen to the Riley's Act? Did it get passed? If not, what happens to the money that was donated, does it go to making the area safer? Thanks for the update!

What a shame it takes someone to die before implementing a program to keep people safe. The businesses are responsible for this, because they supply alcohol to the customers. They are making millions of dollars off of selling potentially dangerous products. It looks like someone could have done this to this young man on purpose, or he had an allergic reaction. Instead of kicking him out, they could have given him the benefit of the doubt and given him aid. With a few precautions, he could be alive today.😢

I agree that leaving him out on the street by himself was wrong. The restaurant/bar had the friends inside to post the bill. Riley should have been allowed to stay with his friends until they all paid their bills. I've read that one friend was outside w/ him at first, but the friend had to go back inside to pay his bill. Riley then starts trying to walk to his hotel but goes in the wrong direction. All of this could have been prevented with a freaking taxi, Uber, Lyft, or letting him stand in the door until his friend(s) came out, too, to be with him. I think it's terrible the bar kicked him out in that type of shape. He was drunk enough he could have been run over by a car stumbling around all by himself. How ridiculous. 5 more minutes inside the bar while his friends paid their bills, and then they can come out and be with him and the young man would probably still be alive. Ridiculous! I'd be livid if I were his parents.

Or you know make people accountable? You wanna get overly drunk then drink at home. By no means is it the company’s responsibility

@@SirRemixbullshit. It was when I was his age. And I was stupid enough in college a couple of times to drink too much, as was most every college student in the place. And NONE of us ever got kicked out! The bars were smart enough to have friends call a taxi or whatever but they did NOT kick a college kid out onto the street by themselves for being too drunk. They ALWAYS made sure the kids had friends or family with them before showing them to the door. Riley was stupid to drink that much in one night. But he surely isn't the first one to do something that stupid. The laws are different today, too, on how much a bartender/server can continue serving alcohol to a person. Apparently the bartender must not have been paying enough attention. A friend of mine's husband got fired from his job as a bartender for making that mistake. I won't name the restaurant but it IS in Davidson Co. And he got fired from his job about a year ago. Unless the laws have changed... idk...

@@SomewhereInTime5059 you make a good point. A friend of mine used to be a bartender and she talked about this. The rules are more strict now. I wonder if the problem was that he'd already had a few drinks at another bar or two, so this one didn't know. He had only one drink here I think. But, being that lit, it's a real shame nobody called an Uber or something to get him to his hotel safely.

Many areas along the Nashville downtown river front are very dimly lit. It would not be a stretch to say he was unaware and could not see where he was walking. Drunk or not. Just sayin. RIP

So does Riley see the two patrol cars come by because were told there was a investigation into a truck break in byone officer, yet it,s been reported two other cars came in Riley,s direction? Could Riley have seen them and thought they were watching him,he thought maybe someone called him in as WAISTED( IN RILEYS MIND REMEMBER)
