I love Autumn! Got to get myself some of those witchy books, I love witches but it’s not a subject I’ve studied all that much. Also eager to learn more!

Loved this video. I have never read Wuthering Heights but as a result of this video I went out today and bought a copy. I have not read many classics but your obvious passion for this book encouraged me to try it and to see if I like it.

I'm obsessed with candles and vendor wax melts, and I agree COMPLETELY that scent and ambiance are 100% necessary for a cozy, contented lifestyle. I also purchase plain white taper candles for my nightstand and I read by candlelight every night.
I've read a lot of these books, and the new Stacey Hall book The Foundling is currently on my nightstand tbr stack. If you enjoy neo historical gothic authors in the vein of Laura Purcell and Sarah Waters, I highly recommend British writer Essie Fox. Elijah's Mermaid, The Somnambulist, and The Goddess and the Thief are all (neo Victorian gothic) titles by her that I absolutely adore!

Yes! Great video. I love autumn, I love witches, what else could I ask for? For me this autumn is starting with a lot of Shirley Jackson. You really tempted me with Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell so maybe it will be next.

I just started one of Laura Purcell’s books-The Poison Thread (I think it’s called something entirely different in the UK). I’ve heard such good things about her and her books, especially The Silent Companion.
The ending of the video made me laugh - love it!

I've read all 3 of Purcell's gothic novels (Silent Companions, The Poison Thread/The Corset and Bone China/House of Whispers) and loved them! Her writing and themes are quite similar to Essie Fox, another favorite neo historical gothic author I highly recommend 👌
