- This small lineolated parakeet loves his owner so much he gets all in the guy's business. Which was a huge surprise! Chris, the lucky owner, expected Dipper to be a classic chill linnie. But he was wrong. Dipper is super clingy, likes running on the floor and gets into everything like a daredevil he is.

Everything about Dipper reminds me of my cockatiel. I had all these expectations that I'd have give her time to adjust to me, get used to teleworking in my room, etc. No adjustment period, & she's the sweetest bird I've owned. Chloe is definitely clingy & a needy little thing, but I wouldn't change a thing about her.
What a beauty. I love what you said about only putting him in cage when absolutely necessary. We need to stop breeding these birds and focus on adopting them so they aren't locked in cages with people who don't know how to care for them. You do a great job with Dipper, including him in daily activities, and giving him safe spaces to roam. 💙

I also have a free roaming parrot who prefers to be on or with me constantly. The only breaks she takes are bath time (for her. She is still on me in my showers and baths), band practice, and sun-yourself-in-the-window time.

No. I have two budgies. They are very social. That is why he is the way he is. I wouldn't say he's "clingy. That's a human thing to say. My two have taught me about companionship and love! You are a fortunate guy to have this one! He is your loving companion!♥️🐦🐦♥️

Parrots who are well bonded to their humans have the person as a partner. As long as they spend many hours a day interacting, it's fine as a solo bird. Sometimes introducing another bird to a bonded human/parrot pair can trigger aggression and stress behaviours.
I understand. I have adopted and fostered birds for 28 years. My experience is having two birds is always better. Humans are not a good replacement for a partner. We have things to do and inevitably leave the house. I have birds bonded with me but still have great relationships with each other. It is how you socialize them.

For there wellbeing it is nessecary to have an other bird.

That's true, there are thoughts going on in there, small brain but very highly developed. Used to compare my female lovebird to my dog - look into the dog's eyes and there wasn't too much going on upstairs. Look into the birds eyes and there were gears turning
