Demo of Fender CF60 acoustic guitar. Recorded on Audio-Technica AT2020 condenser microphone. Mic distance is actually much smaller than it looks on the video - it's around 25 cm. Microphone faced to the guitar body.
What You hear is NOT PROCESSED with any sort of EQ - it's a raw guitar tone.
Music - just a random improvising. It might sound like something else cause there's plenty of songs with "Em C D" chord progression... but this is not a cover.

Ola obrigado pelo review, gostaria apenas de fazer uma observação, grave ele tambem em iluminação natural, ou diferenciada, ai nos ajudara a ter uma melhor visualização, por exemplo, não posso realmente dizer se o tampo é brilhoso ou não, e as outras partes do vilão, atrás? o braço de perto? poderia ter gravado de outros ângulos tambem, iria ficar bacana, pois realsaria a cor do instrumento e seu acabamento. E o som é normal, mas poderia tambem ter gravado um arranjo de harmonia e ritimos diferentes, bem como dedilhados diferentes. Mas obg.

Hey Darius! Wow, I just loved how this AT2020 sounds, especially because your playing is so awesome!
I'm really excited to get this mic and hoping for my acoustic guitar to sound so great like this, since you said it's the raw guitar tone! I'm worried about room noise, since I'm going to record in my room. Is this mic good cutting the ambient noise? Where you recorded this video, was there some sort of noise that could be cut and sound beautiful as it sounds in this video?

These are pretty good guitars for the money. I have a Fender DG-60 that I did a few videos with and it is also a good guitar.

+Sammy Bones Those are probably one of the best in that price range. Aside from the tone, and good production standards, those are quite solid in case of exploatation - handles humidity issues quite well and (at least at the shop I work at) we do not have warranty service issues. For the number of those we sold, we had no client complaining for anything to get broken through time.

Did you find the factory set up was ok for a beginner? Was the action too high or would softer strings be required? I've had mine for a couple of months and still find my fingers getting sore quite quickly...

Hey there! Tone is generally everything involved in the recording process but Let's say that these days affordable audio interfaces are enough descent that such a huge difference you mentioned, is rather cause nor by the interface or the software. Mic position and room and probably most affecing for overall tone. Other obvious things are strings condition and your playing mechnics. I would start to search there

+sirahforever Sorry for the late answer (I've got a lot of questions to respond) I can't help you - I do not have any detailed information on this guitar aside from Fender specification where it's called "folk" body. It's not my personal instrument - it has been borrowed for demo purpose..

Not sure If I would compare both of those. It's still a scale difference that makes 3/4 and 4/4 completely different the way You feel them in Your hands.

how far can i place this mic away from me and still get an effective recorded sound? i dont want it to be in the video :S i have a samson mic that can record pretty well even 2 meters away, if this cant record at least a meter or two away should i still get it...hmm
There is no proper answer to Your question because there is no definition of proper sound from a distance. Personally I hardly use any mic with long distance from the source. Even if I do it's usually a room mic for drums etc and Yes this mic get be set-up to catch the source from that distance - it's only a matter of how much room You want to capture in Your recording and a proper gain set up on Your mic preamp

The CD-60 has a Dreadnought body. The CF-60 is Folk sized.

I took the sticker off my pick guard. I liken it to a mattress tag, once it's yours you can do whatever you want with it, lol. ;)
Jestem pod wrażeniem brzmienia jakie uzyskałeś z AT2020. Napisałeś w opisie, że:

Co mialeś przez to na myśli? Jestem początkującym nagrywającym, ale nie początkującym gitarzystą. Skoro masz jeden mikrofon to powinno się z niego wychodzić sygnałem mono, a jednak słyszę stereo (?), ingerowałeś jakoś tu? Posiadam akustyka i nagrywam go tylko przez AT2020 + preamp Art Tube MP - brzmienie jest zgoła odmienne, jakby pudełkowe. Czy to może być wina preampa (ten model jest lampowy) lub ustawień na nim?

Miałem na myśli to, że sygnał jest surowy, nie obrobiony żadną korekcją ale bardzo śladowo dodałem reverbu (stąd delikatne wrażenie stereo) ale dla mnie akustyk bez "pomieszczenia" zwyczajnie nie brzmi naturalnie i koniec :) Pudełkowe brzmienie to z pewnością nie kwestia preampu a pozycji mikrofonu. Tu niestety nie ma żadnych prawidłowości - trzeba eksperymentować. Może mikrofon z a blisko pudła rezonansowego ? Gitara faktycznie nagrywana jest mono.

Po Twoich radach zacząłem zastanawiać się czy przypadkiem nie mam uszkodzonego egzemplarza preampa - czy możesz powiedzieć mi czy sygnał z mikrofonu przy tej odległości od 12 progu gitary powinien być dość słaby(cichy), dopiero następnie wzmacniany już w jakimś programie czy może sygnał powinien być dość silny aby już w programie go nie wzmacniać. Jak to robisz, żeby uzyskać taką głębię?

hello Derek, I decided to start learning the guitar and I went in a music store to do some searching. It seems that I am between 2 guitars, both of the Fender family. The 1st one is the one you're playing with in this video but I have to buy everything else (bag, clip-on tuner, strap, stand and picks) and it goes by 136-144 euros alone. The other one is Fender Squier SA-105 that has a starter pack, which means everything that I would buy if I choose the CF-60, in the price of 112-116 euros. I've heard how Squier sounds in another video on youtube(czcams.com/video/-A3zPicOqdo/video.html) and honestly, compering to the sound of this one, it's quite poor. I honestly find this one much better and clearer. What do you think I should do? Thanks in advance!
+Mary r. Squier SA105 is one of the best cheap guitars I know. Of course it's built from cheap materials similar to any other guitars from this range but...it done really nicely - intonation, strings action....it really handles 12's gauge and still can be setup comfortably. What's most important it actually does sound "full", not jus ta harsh treble but a full bass response. It has some bad sides as well but those are natural in this category - mainly finish fails. I would not not compare it to Fender CD or CF series. It's a totally different story. Classic Design series is way above in both - quality of materials and finish.

+Mary r. Yeah - it's basicly the same guitar (materials, quality etc). Only difference is the shape and it affects the tone - smaller body has less bass but it does not sound like it lacks low end - it's only a difference when you compare both.
is it a 3/4 guitar ? smaller than a normal dreadnought guitar .
It's a full scale - 4/4 guitar but in the Folk shape which is a bit smaller than Dreadnought
