This song was inspired by the book 'The Magic Shop' by James R Doty, and was written for ARMY. We all have a magic shop within our hearts. Without going into too much detail, this is a song of healing and comfort for ARMY, and means so much to us all 💜

Magic Shop is "A psychodramatic technique that exchanges fear for a positive attitude. Psychodrama is often used in group therapy workshops in mental hospitals or other mental facilities to help patients gain insight into their own lives." The concept of Magic Shop is based on the book "Into the Magic Shop : A neurosurgeon’s quest to discover the mysteries of the brain and the secrets of the heart" by James R.Doty.
The song is co-writting by JK, RM, Suga, J-Hope, and also co-produced by JK. (WE STAN 7 INCREDIBLY HARDWORKING MULTI-TALENTED MEN)
BTS explored this concept throughout their LOVE YOURSELF trilogy of albums, in the teaser trailer for the MV of the song "Fake Love" we see the boys going to the magic shop to exchange their fears for something else, ofc they are all in character bc this all ties into the BU (the fictional storyline that runs through BTS's albums).
But they have not only implemented that concept in their music, but also in their relationship with ARMY, in this case, the magic shop is whenever/wherever BTS and ARMY meet. Whether it's in person, through livestreams, through new music releases, or just simply listening to one of their songs at the end of a hard day, any time you need to exchange your fears or troubles in life for a positive attitute or message or sentiment, you can go to the BTS-ARMY magic shop, bc it will confort you.
And it is a 2 way street, as we are also a source of confort and reassurance for them, and always have been since the entire industry they come from has always been agaisnt them and trying to end their careers, even till this day, THAT is what they are describing in the song. ARMY has always been their lifeline through all their hardships. That's why they sing "You gave me the best of me, so you'll give you the best of you" and the fanchant "so show me (BTS), I'll show you (ARMY responds)"

Edit: 30:47 Yes, everything is connected. Once you really dive into all their discography, specially if you go in chronological order, and you actually take the time to analize and understand each song, each concept, each visual, everything is proof in the form of art of the genius minds of these 7 boys who were just aspiring artists in a near bankrupt label who grew into the 7 amazing men we see today. I personally feel a lot of connection to their lyrics, so my ultimate bias is RM since he has been their main songwriter since debut, but all of them comtribute to the creative process of their music and it's beautiful to see it all come together once you get to know each of their talents separately a bit more. They are, to me, a musical act like other has ever existed and none will prob be able to ever fill their shoes. When you realize the depth of their songwritting, the level of their performance, the quality of their vocals, the technique of their rap styles, their ability to incorporate all of that into one cohesive unit regardles of genre, their story in the music industry, both in and outside of South Korea, their morals and values that are reflected in their words, actions and their art, their brotherhood, their unapologetic thirst for learning and trying new genres, new languages, the fandom they have cultivated, just everything...there is no musical act like BTS.

One of the things I like about these 7 men is that they are not afraid of showing their feelings towards each other. They don't hesitate to hold hands or hug the other members. They remind me of 7 puppies. When they are away from their mother, they run in all directions but in the end, they come back together and snuggle and comfort each other. Just watching with you and listening along really hit my emotions tonite. "So show me...I'll show you" is a call and response that BTS uses with ARMY frequently even for a few moments at a rehearsal or other settings. They did a whole anniversary theme for their 5th "Muster", fan gathering. They made a fun skit about a "Magic Shop" which is just cute, sort of connected to the magic shop concept but in a cute way. Doty. The book is a memoir by Dr Doty, about the lessons he learned from Ruth, a woman he met in a magic shop, one of the lessons or tricks was to open his heart. )
Magic Shop was written and produced by Jungkook, who said: I wrote this song for our fans. Since it’s a fan song, it didn’t really feel like working but it’s a song that contains how I feel and how I love our fans. There were some things that RM hyung said during concert. He said “ if it’s you who found us and Acknowledged us, you can do it too” I started this song based on these words. It’s a song that tells, if you are tired and weary from reality, you open the door inside your mind and there will be Magic Shop and inside of it, there will be 7 of us who’ll give that strength for you. When you talk about Jimin and Taehyung holding hands, you are correct that it's not rehearsed. They show feelings for each other and ARMY freely. It took me a bit to get used to men being able to show affection the way most Asian men will. Also, out 7 are family at this point

Magic Shop reminds me that even though I have no family and I am alone now....I have 7 men in Korea that I may never meet, and still feels like they truly care about me and every ARMY. I always see people say this. I know they wrote the song after a fight, but do they continually say this or was it a one time thing? I’m just curious because I don’t know their whole history.
@@Imme_begin Tae and Jimin are the same age... they went to highschool together when they were trainees... Jimin wrote a song about them being soulmates (Friends...which featured in the Marvel Movie : Eternals)... Tae wrote 4 O'Clock with RM after he and Jimin had a fight over dumplings.... long story hahahaha... they are really close...as are all the members... For me, I feel that each member has a special bond with each of the others... some are a little tighter ....

La edad es muy importante en la cultura coreana, puedes hablar informal a personas de tu misma edad y personas de tu misma edad pueden ser más reconocidos como amigos porque, por la edad, están al mismo nivel. Además de esto, Jimin y V han expresado en muchas ocasiones que son almas gemelas y mejores amigos e incluso los demás miembros también lo han dicho y lo han reconocido. Ejemplos de esto puedes verlo en entrevistas, en videos de pregunta-respuesta, en bon voyage y en muchos otros: en muchas ocasiones eligen la misma habitación diciendo q quieren estar uno con el otro y se eligen el uno al otro para ir juntos o hacer algún juego, aunque algunas veces podemos ver que finalmente no están juntos, supongo para que se conozcan mejor todos sobre todo al principio de BTS y en otras ocasiones porque todos así lo deciden. También en sus primeros videos detrás de escena puedes verlos juntos haciendo el tonto delante de cámaras o jugando a molestar a otro miembro o a varios y también jugando los dos con JK. También Jimin y Tae durmieron en la misma habitación pero se dormían muy tarde y alborotaban tanto que los separaron y Jimin empezó a dormir en la habitación con Jhope y Tae con Nam, creo recordar. Otro ejemplo: una vez Jimin dijo que hablaba a menudo por teléfono con el padre de Tae, y Tae se sorprendió porque ni siquiera sabía que Jimin tenía el número de teléfono de éste. Y hay muchísimos más ejemplos de su profunda amistad. En cualquier caso todos podemos ver que, aunque sean almas gemelas y se conozcan tan bien que Jimin siempre sepa lo que en el fondo quiere decir Tae, ninguno de los dos ha descuidado su amistad con cada uno de los demás miembros y no vemos diferencias en la amistad entre los 7 porque realmente son familia más que compañeros y amigos y se quieren todos por igual, como verdaderos hermanos.@@Imme_begin
@@javinnelaureen Same... they make me feel like if everyone puts in just a little effort to tolerate other people's characteristics, the world could be a much nicer place to be... all 7 are different, but they've learnt over the years to accept their similarities but also more importantly their differences... One really standout feature of all 7 members is that they never judge... each other ...or other people... After years of being together BTS is now like a well oiled clock... all moving parts run together smoothly and don't interfere or impact on the other parts negatively....

I love your in depth look at the lyrics and have been watching since you began. You are insightful with both the music and lyrics. Magic Shop is one of my top five BTS songs but I felt sad that by breaking it down in such a stop start way, I felt that you missed the overriding emotion of love sharing between BTS and ARMY in the beginning. This turned around later and you gave one of the best explanations for the "You gave me the best of me, so you'll give you the best of you" lines that I have heard from "Baby ARMY" reactors.
I completely understand that you are a busy family man and so probably using up much more time on your channel than you expected BUT BTS fans never think that a reaction video about BTS is too long! In fact, we live for the time when reactors realise this and embrace it.
So, where am I going with this, I think it would be great if you did a lyric breakdown after watching the live performance video. Their live performances often don't have subtitles because they are meant to be experienced musically. Of course, you want to know what they are singing about and so to rewatch and do a breakdown lyrically on the second watch, would be perfect, and for that I would recommend the www.youtube.com/@EnjoyBTSmore channel.
Of course, this your own Channel and you can run it however you wish but I really want to see you succeed and think this might be helpful.

Your interpretation is Spot on! It’s rare these days for artists to address their fans directly, and acknowledge that the relationship is mutual support. BTS has always prioritised giving comfort through their music, but they are far from soft. They just know how to empathise. It’s great that real men recognise this is good music, because it’s meaningful and reaches out. Not just superficial sentimental stuff. Their Love Yourself albums saved many a trouble soul, and their Map of the Soul Album is psychologically honest and insightful.

In the begining everybody told BTS they would never make it as industry outsiders because everything was against them. They were consistently blocked and they found innovative marketing ways around industry blocks. It was only possible because of how active and involved ARMY was in promoting and supporting them. On the TAYLOR MARI GUIDE TO BTS you see RM gives ARMY 50% credit for their success but the members only 5% each. The company 15%. So RM is clear ARMY made BTS successful. RM 148 IQ ... yes they are genius. Love💜

Sim, Magic Shop é sobre o termo da psicologia q eles escolheram. O BTS tem tb uma trilogia de albums e de um universo ficticio q é baseado na psicologia do alemão Jung. Eles tem tb um mv "Blood, Sweat and Tears" baseado em um livro alemão vencedor do prêmio nobel de literatura, sobre a luta contra a tentação. Eles são realmente inteligentes.
Magic Shop NÃO está na apresentação do MMA 2019. Se vc quiser, pode reagir as músicas q vão estar lá antes de assistir (se vc preferir). Q seriam: Boy in luv, Boy WITH luv, Mikrokosmos (q vc já assistiu) e Dyonisus.
Outra coisa, acho q já falaram mas talvez você possa ouvir/ver a apresentação e depois prestar atenção na letra em uma segunda parte do vídeo. A gente quer muito q vc aprecie os vocais e a apresentação, mas é só uma dica tá? Desde o começo o BTS trabalhou com esse tipo de mensagem, eles sempre falaram que queriam fazer músicas que tocassem as pessoas e que falassem com os jovens (ou com quem estava passando pelas mesmas coisas que eles). Mas como eles passaram por tanta dificuldade no começo e tiveram que trabalhar TANTO pra serem reconhecidos, eu imagino que muitas vezes eles se sentiram perdidos (como o RM fala no verso dele).
Magic Shop acaba sendo uma música tanto de conforto pras armys quanto pra eles. Fala sobre o nosso "ponto de encontro", sobre como quando estamos juntos (a gente apoiando o BTS e eles nos apoiando) conseguimos dar conforto uns aos outros.
Eu acho o verso do Suga tão honesto e bonito, pois mostra a realização do propósito dele. Ele sabe que essa vontade de crescer/ambição serviu como arma/motivação pra que ele não desistisse no começo, mas quando ele percebeu que na verdade o que ele queria era tocar os nossos corações, foi quando ele cresceu de verdade (assim como o sucesso do BTS).

The entire 5th muster is a must-see, but the prefilmed vignettes confirm (as well as other elements) that they are aware and intentional about the use of the term from psychology. Haha your reaction on discovering what magic shop means had me crackling up, very funny. Yes they went that deep. You'll discover that BTS goes that deep. For some songs you need an explaination video because otherwise you'll never discover what the song is really about. Examples of that are the songs blood, sweat and tears, spring day and ddaeng.

Eu esperei muuuuito pra ver você reagindo a Magic Shop, a música é incrível assim como todas as outras, mas mostra o amor profundo que os meninos tem pelo Army e mostra tanto o motivo de sermos tão passionais com eles. Está sendo incrível acompanhar a sua jornada com o BTS. Se você prestar atenção no final da música quando eles estão descendo, atrás deles forma o símbolo do Army.
Loja mágica é um conceito psicológico, um lugar que eles dizem ter dentro das pessoas, loja é um lugar onde se adquire coisas kkk e "mágica" é como conseguir lá as coisas que vc acha ser impossível, magia ou fantasia. Em alguns casos o amor próprio e esperança podem parecer coisas de contos de fadas ou distante demais da realidade. Dentro de nós mesmo existe um lugar onde a gente pode encontrar tudo o que precisa na desesperança, entende? eles estão básicamente dizendo "olhe pra dentro de vc, acredito que todas as suas respostas estão dentro de vc. dentro da galaxia que existe dentro de vc" (tem uma musica chamada love myself que fala sobre isso). E nesse lugar eles se colocam como um ítem a disposição que podemos encontrar pra nos ajudar a seguir em frente. Na parte do refrão onde eles falam sobre desespero e desaparecer, na verdade não é só sobre eles, mas a gente também, tipo, quando a gente estiver se odiando e quiser desaparecer, eles vão estar na loja mágica nos esperando e a gente só precisa entrar. Ou seja, procurar por eles quando as coisas estejam difíceis pra conseguir algum tipo de conforto. Eles deixam claro nas coisas que falam que está tudo bem recorrer a eles como um consolo, mas que a gente precisa aprender a recorrer a nos mesmos tanmbém. Mas quando isso for difícil, devemos ver RUN BTS ou ver um mv ou vídeo deles, ou ouvir suas músicas.
Jimin e o Taehyung (V) são melhores amigos desde o ensino médio, porém com o tempo, conforme for assistindo entrevistas, RUN BTS, vídeos de bastidores, shows, etc, vc vai ver que todos eles se tocam muito, se abraçam, se cheiram, deitam e sentam um no colo do outro e fazem muito carinho. É uma coisa cultural, os homens coreanos não tem medo de mostrar afeto entre sí. O Suga não gosta muito então ele fica longe quando eles começam a se pegar demais kkk mas quando ele quer, ele só chega perto e espera kkkkkk é engraçado que os meninos entendem quando o Suga quer carinho, eles riem do jeito dele e vão lá dar atenção, ele só fica parado sentindo até expulsar eles dnv. Por isso a gente chama ele de gatinho 🤣 (com a gente eu digo o fandom, os meninos, a mídia e até ele mesmo)
a maioria das músicas dos meninos se baseiam em conceitos psicologicos, livros, contos, problemas sociais e questões individuais. Eles leem e estudam muitos tópicos, principalmente o RM, então nenhuma linha é jogada alí por acaso pra encher linguiça, elas são reias e até mesmo quando tem um produtor acompanhando, os maninos analizam a letra pra ver se ela se encaixa no que eles acreditam e vivenciam, eles nunca falam sobre o que não viveram ou vivem. É tudo tão profundo que é comum chamar de toca do coelho kkk e por isso sempre vc vai encontrar o nome deles nos creditos de produção das músicas
Demais! Na verdade estou bem impressionado com a profundidade das letras deles e também pelo fato de sempre serem alguma forma de auto-ajuda! Isso é muito importante nos dias de hoje.
Sobre a relação entre eles eu acho muito engraçado. Da pra ver que eles tem um senso de humor muito parecido com o meu e meus amigos também. Por isso me identifiquei com eles. E por isso percebi o gesto do V com o Jimin no vídeo. Quando as pessoas são bem resolvidas consigo mesmo, não ligam para o que vão dizer sobre eles.
