That is a proper knife review. I relish attempting to learn & pronounce all the fancy names, towns and such. ~ I feel much smarter having watched this film. Applause!
I’d like to add this knife to my collection solely for the locking mechanism! And thank you for finally posting another video. I’ve missed them, especially with the quarantine.
Love your video’s I have purchased many a knife from the brands you review. They owe you a big thanks. I am in the USA and would have never heard of them if it was not for you.
Stunningly beautiful knives. Simple, yet elegant. Thank you for showing them to us. We in the US, do not get the chance to see many of these gorgeous European made old school knives, so I really do appreciate it.
The knives you choose, the knowledge you share about history and context, the beautiful photography - that's what makes this channel one of the very best. That and the food porn.
My wife is beginning not to like you sir. Every time you post a video I start asking for another knife for my collection. Another wonderful video Stefan. Keep them coming. I am sure I speak for many from the knife community, your productions are top tier, if not the best on You Tube.
Everytime you release a new video I am very excited. Your knowledge and passion for traditional knives is always refreshing. Thank you for the quality videos. That opening method is very interesting indeed.
As for the knives, I think they are great an classy and with a good modern touch. I have Rasolino by Viper with same system and I think it is great modern alternative to classic slip-joint. Rotating opening is also great, would love to see more knives using this construction. As for steel, any good modern steel is better anyway, for any intended usage. Thank you Stefan for another great video review and please keep doing this awesome work! I wish I could help you one day to cut all the cheese and pour the drinks... and drink and talk about knives and history....
@@StefanSchmalhaus Definitely Stefan. I remember when I subscribed to you a long time ago(I think it was the Carl Shlieper video) I got a message from you thanking me for a subscription. And all these years later I get a message from you again. Thank you.
Beautiful and educative video as usual, thank you! it is always a joy for me when you edit a new one :) Man you really enjoy Morbier ! Many belgian cheese are excellent however but i suppose not easy to find in Germany.
Mussels? That was a mis-match in your video today. Cheese, sausage and so on from a typical French variety which goes well with wine and you offering a beer to drink with it? I'd stick with wine. Yes, I love strong Belgium beer but maybe I'd take it with no food.
If I had to guess as to why you created only a few videos in the recent past I would say you need time to eat all your props. But as always great review!
@@StefanSchmalhaus hi. Quick question. What so you rate as the best value and quality knife for everyday and or best value picnic knife folding slip joint. Just curious.
The knife with the secret opening mechanism likely would not make it past Canadian customs because it looks as though it can be opened using one hand by employing a butterfly like opening action. Sadly butterfly/balisong/gravity like knives are prohibited in Canada.
Stefan, love your videos. But I can't afford to keep watching them. I keep buying knives after your video. Hahaha. 😂 TES Barlow on the way. Question, the notebook with the pen in the snapshot, where can I get one?
Bonne continuation !
Wieder mal schön in Szene gesetzt. 🤔😂
Stefan you nake fantastic knife videos one of mine favourite, but on this one the music is too much, disturbing. Its knife vid with slow motion not driving motocicle over the mountains. But many others fantastic vids on the canal.
@@avigator I guess the secret opening mechanism only works with a straight handle. Other than that, it's not unusual that knife designers get inspired by other knife designers.
i always love your accent and your in depth knowledge of everything you display Greetings from the UK
Thank you for your kind words, appreciated!
If I didn't take these CZcams classes from Stefan, I'd have no class at all.
That odd opener is pretty neat.
Thanks, Stefan!

Fascinating review as always. Last month I purchased Fallkniven GP (Gentleman's Pocket) knife. I review of this knife from is greatly appreciated.
I have a lot of other reviews in the pipeline.
Merci!
Very cool knives, Stefan. They look very similar to the Le Francais, but definitely with different components underneath. Thanks for sharing them!

Lets pour a glass of Belgium beer and find out. YES!
Of course, what else? 😂

Valentin Plotnichenko fyi Belgian here. We drink our beer with everything as eagerly as wine. Mussels go well with Hoegaarden for example..
Excellent video of a wonderful and characterful knife. I see one with secret mechanism in my future.
ALWAYS enjoy your content Stefan (and now I want a baguette and some sausage 'n cheese)

reminds me of the small Beretta gentleman's knife, the way it rotates to open & close. ;-)

@@StefanSchmalhaus hi. Quick question. What so you rate as the best value and quality knife for everyday and or best value picnic knife folding slip joint. Just curious.

I think they are quite reasonable.
The knife with the secret opening mechanism likely would not make it past Canadian customs because it looks as though it can be opened using one hand by employing a butterfly like opening action. Sadly butterfly/balisong/gravity like knives are prohibited in Canada.
But seems there is enough friction so the blade doesn’t drop by gravity alone.

Lieben Dank, Fred!

Is it just a coincidence, that these knives remind me of the Atelier Perceval „Le Francais“ ( czcams.com/video/HndcqIDq7Js/video.html )?

I did. Obviously I have to ask my question differently: Is there a reason that “Le Brabançon” resembles “Le Francais” in a way?
