Okay. So I have to geek out about the name of this palette. I LOVE that it's a purple palette named ninhydrin. Ninhydrin is a reagent used in research and clinical chemistry in spectrophometric analysis of amino acids and peptides. Long story short, solutions containing a ammonium is turned PURPLE in the presence of Ninhydrin! :D
VIDEO REQUEST: Could you make a video (or a series depending on how much you have to say) on the best indie brands for each finish? So the brands with the best shimmers, the best mattes, best metallics, chromes, etc. Because I find myself wanting to order during sales but I still don't want to pay for a bunch matte singles from a brand known to have a subpar matte formula but great metallics. I know that's a BIG ask but you've tried so many indie shadows and I trust your opinion 😊 I'd be very grateful💜
The price tag is 😬 BUT when you break it down that's $5.60 a shadow. Compared to other indie brand prices for multichromes that's not bad, providing you like all the shades. If you only want 2 or 3 shades then yeah, ouch.
I don’t understand why Ninhydrin is more money 🤔 I think PJ is a better value for my makeup preferences but $70 and a 6 mo wait 😫😫 I just can’t decide!!! (1st world prob, I’m completely aware lol)
I think one of indie brands biggest downfalls is shipping/production times. Waiting 3 months for an American made product... idk. I understand their struggle but hopefully growing will cause the company to pour money into faster production, hiring more workers, etc. bc the quality is unparalleled!
Also somethings are just like always sold out 😅 I have been trying to get my hands on the arturine blush palette from menagerie cosmetic forever! They closed down from like after Black Friday till end of February. And then that sold out before I even knew the sale happened. I would love to support small businesses but half the time I can’t even buy the products. I’m also still waiting to get that it’s freaking bats palette from shroud cosmetics from the pre-order in October. Been very upfront about everything so it’s fine but like I really want the palette!

This is a miss for me, especially at a higher price point than the plain Jane. I think the packaging is nicer but that’s not enough to justify a higher price when this includes 2 mattes and a diamond shade instead of all special i shades.
Amy I would love if you would do a video comparing this palette and the Plain Jane to the itsbelcosmetics Break the Rules Palette! I'm definitely picking up the Break the Rules eventually as it's more in my price range but it would be great to see how it compares to the Adept palettes. I'm hoping Adept releases these shades as singles so I can pick up the ones unique to my collection (a lot of them remind me of shades I own from JD Glow, Clionah, Devinah, etc)
$68 is so much money right now. Especially for a palette that you won't receive for five months. I understand why it's a preorder, but it still sucks & I wish I didn't have to miss out come July/August.
Maybe my chem nerd is showing, but I wish they had leaned into the chemistry theme and named the shades after different indicators, since ninhydrin is one. They could have done phenolphtalein for that pink, and there are a bunch of blue/violets like thymol blue and methyl violet that are similar to some of the shades in the bottom row. Bromocresol green is similar to the green, too.

I also don't want to be waiting for a palette for literally 5 months. I may move in July so I'm not thrilled with the idea of a rather pricey palette possibly having to get reshipped

I have. Notoriously Morbid loose pigment multichrome that looks very similar to the second to last shade. I need to pull that beauty out and use it. I did pre-order both palettes with your code (thanks again for saving me some money!) And am very excited to get both of them and play... Still have a few months, but I think it'll be worth the wait haha

@@cjaneg97 you can do the brand and she’ll reply. She told me basically everything costs more because the pallet was made in America outer packaging too. The singles are made in China which is why it’s gonna be hard to make the formula in singles. Something like that. I prefer cosmetics made in America

i have two eyeshadows very similar to that first taupe / purple-y matte shade (from two different brands), and with both i have the issue that they feel dry and don't apply easily on the skin. i thought it was an issue of them being pressed too hard or drying out easily but i wonder if it has anything to do with the pigments? it might just be coincidence though.

Including those mattes instead of reformulating them is almost dishonest... especially when the Instagram photos looked so STUNNING... it should have been an 8 pan palette or all iridescent shades ...It is a weird judgement call.
How long will they last seems this is just a finger type cream formula and some people people are just like not in not digging in the fingers in especially in this times and price is to much money better of with natasha denona palette if you going to spend the higher part money or pat McGrath if not own any pallets but this pallet still like price down especially if they would not last on just for 3to6 hrs review cream shadows really depend upon how they are done and sometimes are stack with matt colors to last longer is hack seriously of same cream shadows. I just know my auntie was in cool buisness.

The mattes look so muddy and underwhelming compared to the shimmers, they shouldn't have included them in the palette.

I'm not impressed with thier pallets at the price points. Especially after you factor in the insane shipping cost as well.

I’ve worn this formula for over eight hours with no primer and they still lasted great. I personally like using my finger but you don’t have to.

@@AmyLovesMakeup I feel excited every time I try new makeup, especially from an indie brand, I probably sound repetitive to my friends when I gush about my new makeup loves but that doesn't make the sentiment less sincere 🙈 It is exciting to try something new, and for me it's extra exciting to be trying a new brand and knowing that you're supporting a small woman/BIPOC-owned business
(I'm waiting for a Copecetic order, which is a Black and Hispanic owned business, I really hope I'll love them!)
