I have the H&B engine crash guards and they are great! Easy to install. They provide amble protection and protrude out far enough to provide side protection when the bike is down. Already tested mine 😉

man they are tough to install, but once on, you won't regret it. i had to get clamps to make it work on mine. maybe just my stupidity. these things are rock solid though.

Are the tank bars bolted to the engine block? I have read several articles about crashes that have resulted in damaged blocks that bars were mounted to.
The tank guards mount to the same place where the engine mount bolts are. Every crash is different and in the more extreme cases possible damage might occur to the mounts. If it is that extreme of a crash though, the bike might be totaled anyways. For most accidents/drops you are likely to not experience anything like that.
I have a H&B upper crash bars on my t7. Damaged the block threads, bent the replacement bolt on an average crash.
Don't buy.
