Sorry that the video feels a bit rushed! There is currently construction going on outside my flat which gives me a huge headache and I can't really concentrate!

So I've been thinking about this a lot lately. This is a very typical explanation of the the power of UDT, but I await an explanation of how to map this data to physical i/o

Just done 3 weeks of lockdown here in the UK so had time to teach myself TIA. I find your videos and your teaching style extremely useful and appreciate you relaxed style. Well done and keep providing top class training. Next week I’ll move on to your HMI training.

Your videos about UDT´s really helped me! Because you explain very clearly and with examples. Thank you!
I hope you will make more videos in the future! It would be extremely helpful! 🙂
So I made a donation on the GoFundMe-page. It´s not much, but it is something. I will watch all your videos and take notes/practice in software.
I am a newbie in PLC, a student in automation and digitization. Greatly appreciate your videos!. Thank you.

Thanks for video! Very useful as i have a project with more than 20 g120 invertors(conveyors, elevators)
I think it could be very useful if you show how and when to use indirect addressing. I spent around 2 hours researching IDA on Siemens forum to understand how it works, so maybe your video can help somebody else.

You need to do this video again and shows how useful and powerful UDT ares when you used them "Outside" of FB (Function Blocks) not inside of them. On your video you created a FB called Tank Controller, inside here you need to use standard variables and then let's say you instantiate this FB and create these: Oil Tank, Water Tank, Solvent Tank, Soap Tank, Degreaser Tank. It is with these five instantiations when you used the UDT type in a more powerful way.

Thank you so much for your Videos. I have a really big wish - could you create a Video how to handle Manual and Auto mode and specially how to switch between this modes and what items to take care of doing this (Home Position?). When is ist allowed to switch, how to program in graph, etc. It's really hard to find infos about this. Thank's a lot - your viedo are great.

Dear Hegamurl;one disadvantege of using udt in a FC you cannot determine input and output. I mean that You can determine mw300 as fill level and you can see by looking at the FC inside main ob. but if you use udt you can determine it inside the FC.

    • @mertsenol6000
      @mertsenol6000 Před 4 lety

I think if you use the same udt in both input and output there will be no problem.

How do you know they are all InOut variables when you put de UDT in the "Schnittstelle"? If i have temporary or In's, can I move the data there?

Thank you very much for sharing and simplifying the UDT concept. I am a bit confused how will the PLC CPU will understand the address of each variable for each tank, For example to differentaite between High level Tank1 with High level Tank2 ? I could not see any address for these bitss?

I wanted to use a hardware interrupt and was happy to learn from your session about OB40. However when I came to apply it to my project I found that there was no setup space in the ANI card config.
I then discovered that the reason for this was that your tute was based on a 1500 PLC while mine is a 1200.
So could you please clarify in your tutes what works with a 1500 but not with a 1200 ?
    Thanks.

    Hello Hegamurl,
There is one think I do not understand. Would it not be easier not to use Tank DB but to declare vaiables in Tag Table as "Tank" Data type? When we strorage variables in Data Block then the I/O for each tank have to be written to Database block in the function, right?
It means more work to do.
