Jschlatt themed video Check out Flemmonade's video! • Getting all the Ticket... Inscryption Story explained: • Inscryption Story Expl... #PonyIsland #Lore #DanielMullins #JSchlatt #MakaJohnson
Even if the snowman is seemingly just a reference to the game jam, I like to see it as a reference to Dante's Inferno where the last layer of Hell inhabits the Devil, forever half-stuck in ice as punishment for betraying God, which can imply that the Devil was banished into the game Pony Island by God himself
What are the chances of me watching a Ludwig video where Schlatt is a guest and he mentions that horse sex case, and me watching this video where you mention it, in the same day. The odds of that are nuts.
Very well made videos with criminally low view counts, I hope the algorithm sends people your way. I played Inscryption first and really enjoyed it but was confused by the change of pace, and then went back and just completed The Hex in one sitting. Both very enjoyable but for many of us actually piecing this sort of thing together in a coherent way is just too much faffing about so I'm really glad videos like this exist to break it down.
Oh don't worry it's not just you, I've only managed to understand all this with the help of many others from the community, but thanks for the support!
@@Maka_J give you're self more credit my dude ! Sure you had plenty of help from the community no doubt, however you were thorough in exploring the community. Go watch super horror bros version of the Mullens games. He gets a lot wrong / misses key details even with the answers being provided happily from the community. Somehow he gets more views which is damn shame because these games deserve quality coverage which you offer in spades. Keep up the good work sir!
I recall in Inscryption when the guy at the computer was shot by the woman from Gamefuna for a brief blink and you'll miss it moment her face changes to the face of Sado from The Hex. I assume the Hex is the next game your gonna talk about?
"So what you are saying is to burn out the power grid and seal my device in amber to prevent the end of the world? Got it!" I thought the secert would be that his high ranking "friends" turned him into a pony and it leads to you breaking out and escaping to the real world. Personally it would of been messed up if the hopeless soul was actually trying to save you and by deleting the game, you are "stuck" down there.
Interesting video, though I do have some problems with it. Mainly your dissection of Theodore's backstory. Point by point, 1) while the Seventh Crusade's target WAS Egypt, by 1252 the city of Jerusalem was under the control of the Muslim Turks. It is entirely possible that a band of crusaders not a part of the rest of the Crusade attacked Jerusalem to try and take it back. It would also explain why Theodore is damned despite being a devote Catholic Crusader, as not only did he disobey his king by heading to Jerusalem, but also taking Jerusalem would not have been good tactically. The only reason for taking the city would be pride, for being "the Crusader Who Retook the Holy City", and as we all know, Pride is a decidedly deadly sin. 2) The Abu al-Kindi you showed died in the 800s CENTURIES before Theodore died. They are definitely not the same Abu al-Kindi. Al-Kindi seems to not be an uncommon last name from what I've read.
Omg, just hearing out these stories are so interesting. I played through Inscryption recently, and it was a blast. I had problems with it (with Kaycee's mod especially), but the story behind, and the scavenger hunt level secrets especially pointing back to the developer's older games is an amazing feat. Good video, and explanation!
Nice breakdown, though I'm not sure if we can safely assume Theodore and his backstory are completely made up (unless Daniel Mullins has confirmed this?) I could go either way with that one, personally Yeah, there's stuff that doesn't make sense, but that could easily be a result of several other factors, like just not actually emulating real life exactly as you suggested.
@@Maka_J It's cool, it's not like I'm against it per se, just don't think it's the only option ^^; I feel Pony Island can connect to the other games regardless, it would simply change details about Satan's actual story - of course, he IS arguably a major character and all, so how we read his story is worth discussing in any case
I'm with you on most of your points, however I do resist the detail of your character's backstory. While I can recognize the fact that Inscryption and the Hex both played with extremely meta concepts concerning the player's character, they always had a real individual behind them, or a real world counterpart to back them up. I recognize that the story makes sense if your history is a lie, however, I argue that it makes just as much sense if it isn't, as it is never really used to deceive you. It is contentious both ways, and I say it stands up to interpretation just who we are in this situation, though I will concede that the usage of the game on your computer as a key plot point does make it easier to interpret the character's past as a lie.
Probably not, in the next games, when Satan is on earth, he has to work really hard to get the old data, and if the old data was the game he was trapped in, he could've just grabbed it as he left hell

9:54 was honestly one of the scariest things I've ever witnessed in a horror game.
The threat of social interaction

The youtube algorithm is truly powerful

Yep! Ill be covering it in that video
8:10 yeah, haha, i for one totally did not get stuck on the pathetically easy final puzzle for like 5 minutes no sire not me
The question “what the f*** is this” at the end sums up my response to itself 😂
Imagine the crusader going "what is this magic?"
And then finding out it's technology and going "HOW IS THIS EVEN A MACHINE?!"
"So what you are saying is to burn out the power grid and seal my device in amber to prevent the end of the world? Got it!"

Funniest thing to me about Pony Island is that the devil just decided that the easiest way to get souls was to develop a whole ass game
That is a very well made video. Saw the other one about inscription. Fine work mate!

You uploaded this just as I was looking for something like it! Thank you!
Never tell me the odds
Really enjoying these videos on Daniel Mullens games. Keep it up!
I love this vid so far, only like 5-10 minutes in and already 3-4 schlatt jokes, I’m subbing
Nice video, can't wait for the next one
I've never even played this game but was caught up in video. Amazing stuff
Nice breakdown, though I'm not sure if we can safely assume Theodore and his backstory are completely made up (unless Daniel Mullins has confirmed this?) I could go either way with that one, personally

My main reason for liking this theory is how it connects to the other two games, and I’ll be talking about it more in my next video

Really well made video! Truely underrated
Lovely narration and editing lad
Playing this game from start to finish was a joy specially for the archivements and the secret real final
I was checking your Channel everyday, finally this Is THE DAY
Nice video 🔥
This guy is pushing 🅿️
Huh... apparently I didn't save anyone when I played this, guess I need to get all the tickets. Great video by the way.

That Bread Boys reference at 7:10 was perfect 😂
I'm just going to have to try to get all of the tickets before it's revealed that he's held prisoner and see what happens.
Reminder this was Daniel Mullins first game
2:39 So what was this code for? I assume it was used by now.
After watching the entire video I still know nothing about Pony Island’s toy 💔
So Pony Island … is the old data?
Probably not, in the next games, when Satan is on earth, he has to work really hard to get the old data, and if the old data was the game he was trapped in, he could've just grabbed it as he left hell
@@Maka_J methinks he backed up a part of him to old data?
Yeah, and all the Karnoffel code stuff wouldn’t make sense
Came here after the hex and inscryption video
Is the next video perhaps The Hex?
Indeed it is
The hex explained?
What if you have no friends on steam what will the character who makes it seem like a friend is messaging you do
You get a message from TheDanman
Ok
Are all of the games connected?
The hex and inscryption are definitely connected, but pony island is a bit more debatable
Face reveal?!?
Wow alzheimer moment in the false prophet part
Shit.. Sorry guys I freed the devil
Face reveal?
obama
2 minutes in and I know basically nothing about the game but have to listen to a dumb Qanon-tier Obama joke, amazing
Commenting for the algorithm...!
:)
Is there a reason why you say demon the way you do?
Normally I say it de-mon, but In the game it's spelt deamon
@@Maka_J Oh i see because i thought it was some type of accent or something
@@arran4285 All good
@@Maka_J It is pronounced the same way it's just a spelling variant. Just so you know.
for years i thought he was a hopeless soul
wow.
Geezzz I hope you're trolling because that's not the eye of Anubis... it's the eye of Horus.
😦
"You killed jesus"
*NEW FAVORITE GAME!!!*
Hi
Who does this guy think he is?
1+1=2
Why must you hurt me like this?
This video has this few views cuz of that Obama joke, huh? Damn algorithm…
