  • Some random ghost towns and ruins we visited on a trip to the Death Valley area. This is kind of the leftover footage from my mine exploring video ( • Exploring Abandoned Mi... ) and we also have some Area 51 stuff here: • Messing With Aliens At... )
More Ballarat footage from 2021 can be found here: • Exploring Death Valley...

Love your videos, but as a Vegas resident I'd be remiss if I didn't note that 1. The Rio is under *heavy* renovations right now, hence the sign in shambles, and 2. The other building you shot the side of was the Tropicana which is due to be demolished in the next year or so to make way for a baseball stadium of all things. You did nail it on the "monorail" though, when it's not broken it's not exactly the most useful piece of infrastructure around.

We went to a show at the Rio and the inside wasn't quite as run down. Interesting about the Tropicana, it did look like it was ready to be demolished!

You have a very good method of explaining stuff, you can make more of these roadtrips videos too!

I love urban exploration videos, especially entire cities in the desert. I hope more videos on this topic are coming soon. Going on a ghost hunt in the abandoned city in the desert, at night.

Great Video... I've been to both - Ballarat Death Valley and Ballarat Australia. Only thing they have in common is the name. Go out towards the Racetrak. Bluebell Mine is always a favorite of mine. Plenty more out there...

seeing this area of the US always reminds me of the story of the Burro Schmidt tunnel

Our Sandland project is kind of like that, lots of tunnels dug for no logical reason 😂

I've been *through* LV exactly once in my life. When I was driving through Nevada with a buddy of mine, on a trip back from southern California with a boat behind us--I was 17 or so. The pink glow on the horizon could not be ignored at night, so we drove through it just to say we'd been there. But other than that? Doesn't appeal to me personally. Although if/when it turns into a ghost town? Yeah, that would be fascinating for sure! If/when they build the DSA-2000 in central NV, that might be a good reason to go back for me personally.....

Towing a boat through there sounds terrible! Next time maybe we can visit some radio astronomy sites, or bring more equipment out to take advantage of the quiet canyons.

The worst part of the trip was actually in Utah, where we broke down. The degree to which the locals had never even *heard* of a Volvo, let alone understood how to fix it was kind of frightening to me. The tow-truck driver kept referring to the car as a "Hitler Wagon", and in the 30-mile tow back to Salinas, I wasn't sure if he was going to shoot us and leave us for dead in some Utah bone-pile. We ended up fixing the car ourselves at the GM dealership he towed us to. They'd never even heard of an electric fuel-pump, which was the proximate problem. Broken wire. Fixed it ourselves using a bit of material and tools at the GM dealership, and made it all the way back to Toronto without further incident.

Crazy how when I clicked on this video I got an alien documentary trailer ad, coincidence perchance?

@saveitforparts my friends and I are playing the video game "Sons of the Forest" a survival, crafting, horror game. In it though you are stranded on an island, but the odd thing is scattered across the island are caches of supplies, including a solar panel, and a battery powered scooter, radios, laptops (I don't think you can interact with the computers in game, but they are static scene dressing at least) there is also a totally enclosed raft off the coast in an area, and you have a GPS navigator that you use as the character to view the map. You know about satellites, using just the parts I have described can you make a video on cobbling together a functional radio transmitter? Sort of a fictional survival scenario?

That could be interesting! Not sure when I'd get around to it, but I can add it to the to-do list!

Do you have a video where you explain the veeeery basics of how satellites work? Like how data is transported and such. If not, would you like to make one? And please don't say you don't know what you're doing. I don't believe you. 😄
