I own the same red rcf, needs to be driven in sport plus mode with paddle shifters and you need to hold the traction control button for 5 seconds to really unlock its power! Plus at over 5000 feet you’ve lost 80 hp which puts it at around 390 hp which won’t get nearly the same results. I lived in Utah and then moved to California and trust me the difference is mind blowing
Yes He is never gonna post a great time at one mile above sea level. He is almost 80 horsepower down at that altitude on the v8. And 48 horsepower down on the v6
I was considering of getting a Nissan Z,, But God, for a little more money, these Lexus's are Soo much better looking ! (Inside & Out)..
Yeah the Lexus is great! Beautiful car by all means. The Z is a beautiful car too. I actually love the Z but it just depends on what you want and what you'll be using it for. Both great cars. But paying moire for the Lexus 350 F for basically the same thing as the Z but more weight and more luxurious no thanks. All depends on personal preference.

Yeah & Nissan is out of their mind with the Nismo, charging 40k+ if they lowered their prices on it they would sell more & maybe change the front logo to a Z like they did with GTR model.
Joseph C. The RC is a nice car. Very nice exterior, high quality interior...yet they don't sell a lot. Why? Because simply put, there's better options in its class of competitors. The BMW 4 series, Audi A5, Mercedes C Class are much further ahead in technology and infotainment categories it's actually laughable. Their interiors also look much cleaner. The Lexus is also slower than all of its competition. Even the Infiniti Q60 would smoke it. Actually even the Infiniti Q60 now has a more up to date infotainment system(though I hate the look of it.) Idk man at the end of the day IMO there's just much better options out there if you're looking for a sporty luxury coupe for over $40,000. This is why Lexus doesn't sell a lot of them. They're dead last in important categories- Performance, technology, fuel efficiency. The only things really keeping these cars afloat is the Lexus reliability and unique styling.

I sat in an AWD (6-spd transmission) RC 350 F Sport in the showroom just for the heck of it. After 2 days of longing and yearning, I drove that car home, even though I wasnt looking for a car. I just had to have it. I didnt even test drive it, I figured it's a lexus, how bad can it be...well, that drive home was pure heaven for me. The interior/exterior sold me, but the performance and overall ride blew me away. I was expecting a stiff & bumpy ride, but was pleasently surprised at how comfortable the ride was. I commute every day from Brooklyn to Manhattan, that is the purpose of this car and it suits me just fine. I am not far from 60 years of age, my driving habits and needs changed from my younger days. The 350 F Sport has everything I need today, and would have appreciated it in my younger years too. Are there better cars out there? Sure, but i am getting a lot of enjoyment in my ride. It's a lease, and have another year on it. It's going to be hard to turn in.

I was in a market for a coupe of course BMW then maybe Mercedes. Saw this whip in a car tour and had to have it. I don’t drive fast much. I got a slower engine but I love this car. Glad I saw this on CZcams before purchasing something else.
burgandi watson - Enjoy it, it’s a fun car. I have mine 2 1/2 years now, less than a year left on my lease. It’s going to be hard to turn in. I may lease an ES 350 or buy my current car. It only has 11k miles, and the resale value is high.

Had an m3. Awesome car. But no more m3. It gets old and boring over time. Its like having sex with your wife for the rest if your life. Gets old and boring. We want to try new things. Some afraid and some dont have the means to do so. Lol
The RC 350 at its core is just a sporty coupe, you shouldn't compare it to things like an S5 or AMG. It's more in line with a 4-series, A5, or forthcoming C-class coupe. It's not their answer to the 370z either(but it's not that far off), that'll be the new Supra unless it's more on par with the GTR, but unlikely. It's a fantastic daily driver and just amazing to be in.
467 hp isn't a lot for an NA V8? Hmmmmmmmmmmm.....ok. Also you might want to invest in some precision instruments to make measurements and not use smart phones....LOL

That's exactly what I was thinking... That's quite a lot out of a NA V8. Hyundai Genesis puts out 420 horsepower and 383 ft lb of torque out of a NA 5.0
2017 RC-F owner here and I love her! I still own and drive my 2014 IS250 too. It’s def very easy to be an asshole in the RCF. No regrets here skipping the RC350 or any 350 model. Get the v8 if you can!
The RC is the only Lexus I would consider buying.

You guys need to understand that these guys are testing one mile above sea level which makes these 0-60 times 1-2 seconds slower than it would everywhere else.
I’m the lucky owner of the 2019 Lexus RCF F10th Anniversary, and I absolutely love it, it is truly an amazing car and totally worth $85,000, thank you for the video.
Congrats! U could have saved half if u buy used rcf for $40k or under. The higher the price, the more money ull lose yearly. U lose average 8-10% yearly.

Lexius owner of a ‘15 rcf the only real difference is making aesthetic with matte NGP with blue interior and F blue calipers all could be swapped to make any RCF look like the 10th anniversary sucks they didn’t do any power increase or even number the 240 the 10th anniversary actually isn’t listed as a “trim” there two used ones going for 62 in my area of Florida you did kinda get snubbed as they will depreciate like all rcf since kbb is the same

I would love the RC F but to be honest most people will be more than happy enough with the RC 350, and you definitely don’t need the RC-F track edition that’s for sure

One review that would be interesting is a chip tuned RC200t against the RC350.
Actually flash tuning are around 300hp and 400 nm torque. Those are interesting numbers. Add to that, that the 200t is the lightest RC model.
Clearly many forget this is at altitude 1600m above sea level. But weirdly my IS350 did 5.7 sec 0-100 at Zwartkops with a top end of 255kph.
I thought they were limited to 230kph in South Africa.

My wifes old IS350 (essentially same motor and power) would run sub 5 sec 0-60. My only guess is that mile above sea level was really hurting performance. Would be interesting to see it in optimal conditions.

Kellan Larson His comments was valid, yours is not. In Australia the RC F takes about 4.5 secs from 0-100, that puts it in the range of the C63 and M3 which will make me take back what I said originally.
My original comment assumed that Lexus was selling the RC F at the price of a high end luxury performance car while it's slower than its competitors, that would make it not good enough. It's all about comparison, when someone does a better job then you, then you're not good enough no matter how good of a job you did.

Actually people have pulled it to 3.9-4.0 but people don’t like hitting the rev limiter on these for some reason. People shift at 6700 when in reality you can do it at 7300

That heavy dark grille Toyota adopted in 2014(?) was so ugly, but it's growing on me for some reason. As far as your driving goes, you're not racing the Indy 500 so sit back and let the car guide you through those turns. Both these models with the same tires are going to kill it on the southwest freeways and certainly dodge a blowout with driver aware. The spongey brake pedal is a plus for me. I like that initial relief when transferring and it's been a Camry staple since Gen 2. Awesome drive, decent test, sick engineering. BMW's handling behind the wheel can bite my left toe!
So when are you guys going to compare the Audi RS5 and M3/M4 against this? I would love to see that.
The 0-60 times can't be accurate on the RC-F. The sport mode must not be on or it's a driver error.

Everyone is complaining about the 0-60 times, if you watch the video, it states that he is 1 mile above sea level, (probably in Denver) that can have a noticeable effect on acceleration times.. it needs to be tested at sea level..
5.7 seconds in a V8; my 2015 GS 450h F Sport does 0-60 in 5.5....not sure if those are accurate numbers for the RC F.
It’s not by any means. They are a mile above sea level so the car loses power. RC F’s do 0-60 in 4.4 secs

it seems like it's a little on the heavy side but it's still got a lot of horsepower, I love it, wish they would lighten up the chassis a little bit though but it's still a great car to drive, I want it when I pay off my current car I have.
I own one, the rcf, the best car i've ever seen, in my opinion. At sport + mode the exhaust sounds so so so good. stability is great it fits four people, Great car over all.
I definitely want one, I always love a V-8 class vehicle, it's stylish and it looks and sounds really good, when I pay off my current car, I'll trade it in for a RC-F

allcarguy Yes, I believe in motortrend's "rc-f vs m4" video they clocked the rc-f's 0-60 at 4.6s, and they are at sea level in California, so this 1 mile high elevation seems to add 1 second.

HUGE difference on my 370z just going from the crappy stock bridgestones to pilot super sports!! If you think your car sucks at cornering, check psi/alignment, upgrade tires before trading it in. Now I wonder if a 370z w Sport package (larger brakes) for $33k (no, you don't need to WASTE $46k on the stupid Nismo!!) is nearly the same as the RC-F performance wise? Seems like you may as well go bmw m2 if you want an RC-F or go new 2016 Q60 and in both cases you save $$$ Or forget both of these and all chips in get the 350gt 5.2ltr ? Great time to be a performance car fan (til we hit a nice recession!)

well... heres a tip, DO NOT BUY IT BRAND NEW, i spent $60,000 on a brand new one, i couldve bought a used rcf, a used m6, used m4, used gtr, but overall, i love it, it drives smoothly, standard audio system is awesome, 4400 pounds v6 but 0-60 5.4s, not bad at all! and u get a ton of attentions if u like attentions xD
So around 3-4 seconds faster around the track and 2 seconds faster 0-60.
For an extra $15,000-$20,000 more?

+Wanda Soler do you realize how much power is lost at a mile above sea level? Its quite a bit. If you have a supercharged or turbo engine it doesnt lose much at higher altitudes but naturally aspirated engines lose alot of power.

One thing he glazed over the RC F-Sport has 4 wheel steering, the RC F does not! I just got a used 2015 RC 350 f-sport. My lease was up on my IS 250 F-sport. The RC is a Luxury GT sport coupe. It drive much better then the IS 250 f-sport IMHO.

Rcf is for weekend drive. U race or track it. Rc350 is for daily driving. Fun and comfortable to drive daily. Just bought rc350 fsports. Loving it.

Now listen, coming from the owner of a fully modded awd rc350 and is200t both my cars would KILL an rcf. Love the rcf but it has to be modified right. I have owned 7 lexus, one of them being the isf, you won't go wrong with the 200t 350 or rcf, they can all make amazing power and the handling is beautiful, better than my GTR 🤦♂️ yep better.

Because that's what you want to believe. The RC350 you're not paying for the engine, you're paying for the luxury and overall build quality which is far superior than your RAV4.
The RC350 and 3rd gen IS350 are nuggets though, so "yawn" is on point. Weaker gear ratios (from an ISF) and a heavier car overall.

My dad is CFO lexus in my country so the he doesnt pay for the car itself, otherwise a (any) AMG would have been a cheaper and faster alternative. And its paired up with a lexus IS/GS for daily driving. You have a nice car by the way, CLA amg is a very nice car, what kind do you have? Coupe/shooting brake
Lexus, you need to get serious with your performance line up for your vehicles! The F badge shouldn't be for a 5.0L 460 bhp v8, it should represent a turbo or upturned version of Toyota's 5.7L v8 with at least 550 bhp especially for that much money. If I'm going to pay that much I'll just get a hellcat from dodge, by the way Lexus that car has 707 bhp!
Why would I spend 75,000 on a Lexus, when I can get the base model Porsche Cayman for 10 grand less and still outperform the Lexus. I would spend 75,000 sure, on a Porsche Cayman GTS or a Corvette or a Jaguar F - Type or even an BMW M4 Coupe.
locoism1025 the M4 coupe = the RCF... for both their prices it would make far more sense to get an FType but then again they're different cars the M4 and RCF are more like GT cars while the Cayman and Ftype arent
