- What's the Most Damage Possible in Minecraft 1.16? Minecraft has plenty of weapons available to do damage, but what is the most damage you can do in Minecraft? Most of the time we settle for an enchanted diamond sword, but is there more damage possible in minecraft than just that? So for PVP or regular survival combat, we are going to look at the different options available. Mumbo Jumbo researched this back in 1.9, but since then the new nether update has added netherite swords, axes, and more so let's see how much has changed in Minecraft in four years. It's a minecraft damage experiment in this episode of Skip the Tutorial's Minecraft videos.

In bedrock you can light showballs on fire mid flight to make them do decent damage.
The harming 2 arrow combined with power 5 can 2 shot a full netherite protection 4 player. Though it is hella expensive
A crossbow with multishot with arrows of harming instant damage 2 can one shot a full netherite armor protection 4 player

In 1.16, you can use commands to get a weapon with Sharpness 1,000,000,000 and you can also use commands to give yourself strength 255, so if you have commands you can deal 750,002,310 damage but that number got reduced to 2,501.25 damage in 1.17

Good question with netherite armor I got to half heart with the wither explosion.
It's something dumb like 140 on Hard. I know it still one-shots you with full Prot 4 Diamond/Netherite and Blast Prot 4 on one armor piece (maximum blast resistance). You need the absorption from a god apple to survive, or a totem. Source: Standing too close to one like an idiot on 2b.
You can survive a point blank end crystal if you have created the God armour in minecraft 1.14 with mainly two enchantments protection 4 and blast protection 4

What Skip probably meant was "If you have a netherite ingot, maybe save it until you have enough diamonds for an axe because then you'll be doing the most damage per hit." Of course, it's not that simple, because netherite swords recharge to full power in less time, can hit multiple enemies, and last a lot longer when used as weapons. Plus, they're cheaper: you only need two diamonds, one stick, four netherite scraps, and four gold ingots to make a netherite sword, but to make a netherite axe, you need three diamonds, two sticks, four netherite scraps, and four gold ingots.
@@ryangallagher9723 To be fair, if you have the ability to make netherite tools, you'd probably have a toolsmith villager that gives you diamond axes or just already have diamonds. One diamond really doesn't make a difference.

Yeah, "but DPS isn't the only part of a weapon" (-Technoblade). This experiment isn't necessarily the fastest way to deal large amounts of damage fast, it is what deals the most damage in a single strike. And sometimes, a single strike is all you need to kill an enemy with high enough damage.

1.8- PVP is overrated
i have a crossbow with quick charge, multishot and mending (all enchants are max) which is already a very strong crossbow but i added instant harming 2 arrows to it and it now 1 shots my friends in full prot 4 netherite (this is on bedrock edition and if all arrows hit)

Practically, for PvP, end crystals. For PvE/grinding, TNT-duping machines. Theoretically, for pure damage, a sharpness 32767 diamond sword/netherite axe with strength 255 effect on an unarmored enemy. On 1.8.9 and lower, a sharpness 32767 diamond sword with strength 255 would do 6.78 MILLION hearts of damage. On 1.16, a sharpness 32767 netherite axe with strength 255 would do 8,579.5 hearts of damage. Oh, and did I mention that weapon base damage can be modified through commands? with the damage attribute modifications, you can go all the way up to what I believe is the 32-bit integer limit, or was it the 64-bit limit? whatever. I'm not "mining" the game code all over again to make a single comment. ;)
Oh, and I forgot one thing, bows. A power 32767 bow with an instant harming 256 arrow at full charge should do anywhere between 37,629 and 41,730 hearts of damage.
Edit: I just figured out that bows and potion arrow damage don't stack. The 32k power bow would actually do 36,861 to 40,962 hearts, adjusted for this bug in the game.

I still find it baffling how wood swords are technically better than gold.
If a gold pick is faster than a diamond one, a gold sword should be stronger than a diamond one. It's still balanced because of the terrible durability. If players started using gold swords too often, then they could reduce the damage to the same as a diamond sword. I don't see why this isn't the case.
@@AdamSmith-qu5bv That's actually a pretty good idea. I think the idea of a glass cannon weapon is cool. Though IMO the durability on tools (pickaxes, axes and shovels) is kinda annoying even if they are the fastest. I kinda think they should have a small buff too. Maybe even gold swords can have a very slight increase in durability too. I do like the idea of a "glass cannon" weapon. Breaks very easily, but it's really good.
I think at the most it should do diamond damage, as well, i don't know about diamonds reputation really.
At the least it could Iron damage, it being worse than a stone sword is just a bit bad. I also don't get how Gold can't break its own ore. You need an Iron Pickaxe to mine gold, and gold cant mine diamond. ._.
If we're gonna talk about buffing bad things, what about gold armor, sure the piglins won't bother you but that isn't really going to be useful in PVP. I don't know what else they could do, since they cant make it better than Iron because...

What about Leather Armor, the armor that absolutely noone is going to make. Because mining Iron is something you can do in the first 10 minutes of the game, and making a cow farm takes much longer, you have to wait 5 minutes to breed the cows over and over again. It just overall takes more time, if not more effort. I kind of wonder what if they made speed affected by armor choice, like wearing armor would make you slightly slower or something. If that were the case, leather armor would be faster than all other armor, and give you more protection. I presume not having armor would mean you'd be the same speed as leather armor. Or maybe Leather Armor can have a unique enchantment or something? I don't know what they could do to Leather Armor to make it useful that wouldn't impact the vanilla experience.
I doubt people would be happy with the change I listed. Then again they were unhappy with the combat change I personally like so...
I actually don't like how I can't buy bedrock, because I'm one of the people who prefer 1.9 combat. I'm a weirdo apparantly.

I feel like even gold pickaxes arent made when trying to do extensive caving so... that could get a slight buff i feel. The durability doesn't have to be literal glass. Just a small durability buff pls. Maybe same with Axe.
Leather Armor could maybe EXIST. Like I don't think some people even know it's a craftable armor. Or have ever crafted it.

Now about the gold, gold is clearly not a glass cannon, its glass, its a joke, its suposed to be crappy, because you have other recipes that need it (and now bartering) the gold tools are a joke, not suposed to be good or a glass cannon

@@businessmanbrute2211 You don't need all blast prot, in fact it's stupid to do that. One piece of blast prot and 3 of normal provide the maximum protection against explosives while still providing decent protection against other attacks and is what we use to not get one-shot from cpvp.

It never said the fastest way to get killed just the most damage possible with a lot of god apples you can take a lot more damage while the rail cannon kills you instantly so I think my opinion is still the best also this video is in survival not creative in bedrock I'm pretty sure you still take void damage in survival.
The void only deals 4 half hearts and 2 full hearts.

Harming 2 arrows are the most overpowered things ever.
A power 5 harming 2 arrow can pretty much 2 shot a full prot 4 netherite.
Although the arrow can't get through shields, the effect can, rendering shields completely useless
(I play on bedrock btw)

2:32 Actually making a netherite axe as opposed to a netherite sword doesn't cost more netherite. It costs more diamonds to make the axe, which can then be upgraded to netherite with one ingot.
