Now, nearly 5 years later, I decided to update that list with some of the new and stranger options available in Minecraft 1.16. Whether it is piston elevators, shulkers, ender pearl launchers, and more, it's on this list. Let's see what is the fastest way to reach build limit in this new minecraft experiment by Skip the Tutorial!

Sprinting up soul sand water elevator with riptide trident, speed, depth strider, dolphin’s grace, and shulker levitation.
i think levitation cancels out the effects of sprint swimming
Shulker's lévitation would only make you go as slow as levitating lol, also speed doesn't change nothing in water.

Fun fact with stairs if you do it right you can spam spacebar to climb up them faster. Helps to have speed boosts from like swiftness as well.

Try this: four repeating command blocks summoning end crystals around one block of bedrock, stand in the middle block and just smack one in creative, and welcome to 100,000 blocks in the sky

you can be even faster by pressing space continently while sprining up those stairs to build limit
Don't forget spamming the jump key when sprinting up stairs, which usually is pretty fast

In. Creative you can use end crystals (in bunches) to launch you up pretty high
My highest using end crystals is around 20,000 blocks high
I did it and I got MAX
You missed one. One really powerful one
Placing multiple endercrystals in the same spot and hitting them from above. I can real 6k blocks high in a blink

But you need blast protection on all your armor or you will totally die, i dont think even that can protect you from dying

Hey skip you forgot about mob head stair cases, by alternating between placing a mob head on the ground and on the wall you can make a stair case that’s actually pretty fast
Edit: and if it doesn’t work on Java try it on bedrock because that’s where I tested it
The snow one would be good for storage. Cause only you know that “my stuff is at the top” and if others try, they’ll get demotivated real quick

Leave ender pearl in soul-sanded water with opened trapdoor near the height limit. Close trapdoor from sea level using vertical redstone chain. Takes nearly 0 seconds to get to the top.

Bedrock also has (or had, idk if it was patched) an almost instant safe vertical teleportation in survival using falling block entities and a piston along with some weird physics

The fastest way to go ANYWHERE IN ANY MAP is a teleportation machine using an ender pearl stasis chamber. You can teleport anywhere in the map instantly using it.

Topaz in bedrock (dn about java) you can use creative + elytra and you can bug it and you can fly super fast
Right click minecart elevator is still the best to me! (fast and without spending items/durability)
A few months back I made a contraption using pistons dispensers fire work rocket s and shulkers which each pushed against each other sending me to build limit in on second

Also, teleportation isnt possible in survival with no cheats.
The second stair case is even faster when you run and jump together.
You need to be absurdly good at spamming the jump key because if you slow down spamming the jump button for a second that will REALLY hurt the time.
You also can't hold it down because it usually slow down as opposed to spamming it.
@@emadgergis6710 I don't like when people are wrong. Here are my results in 1.16 going from y level 4 to about 120, sure it's not the height he did but quite frankly I cannot be bothered to invest that much time into proving you wrong.
Running up the stairs: 19 seconds
Running up the stairs and hitting spacebar in short bursts (Edit: About 3 taps each burst) with about a 1 second delay between each like I'm some freak that just can't possibly move their thumb up and down a spacebar consistently: 16 seconds
Running up the stairs and spamming spacebar not even that fast, just casually moving my thumb up and down: 13 seconds.

I LOVE my Riptide trident. Favorite item by far and I never put it down. Always have 2 water buckets too. Don't have Elytra yet but I live by the ocean and go to the snow limit often when it rains.

Windows XP memes and stuff lol Minecraft loads chunks in a 16 x 16 area, from bedrock to height limit, if your teleporting to the world limit then what terrain would be needed to load? The only thing I can think of slowing you down is having a bad computer that has a hard time teleporting you instantly. Plus, you could already have the command copied and pasted, he made an entire flying machine and didn’t count the building time, so just tp.

Just for those who are curious:
Considering it was from 63 to 256 in 1 gametick, and 20 gameticks is 1 second, it would be 3860 blocks per second for that specific teleport.
This needs an update cuz the world height limit and depth limit have expanded since this video came out
some enchantments that makes you fast is perfect
