      It's actually very simple to understand what he's saying. All math. All science. All textbooks have been written by a man. Now most science is able to be repeated because that's just how it works within the laws of nature but math is created by us. What is a measurement? Who woke up the first time and decided that things can be calculated with an equation and how did you get the units for the first equation? The further you go into math the more the equations begin to become theories vs fact.

    The function described is (√n)^3/n
    Consider that (√n)^3=(√n)(√n)(√n)
    So we get (√n)(√n)(√n)/n
    Now consider that (√n)(√n)=n
    So (√n)(√n)(√n)=(√n)n
    So we can rewrite the function as (√n)n/n
    Now consider that n/n=1
    Now we get 1(√n) which is just (√n)
    So we have now proven (√n)^3/n=(√n) for all positive integers. If you have a denominator smaller than the n you will have an increasing output, if it is larger than n you will have an decreasing output.
    2 is a positive integer.
    (√2)^3/2=(√2), (√2)^3/1=2(√2), (√2)^3/3=2(√2)/3
    3 also
    (√3)^3/3=(√3), (√3)^3/2=3(√3)/2, (√3)^3/4=3(√3)/4
    His operation is not special, it makes perfect sense, it is logically consistent and has a definable consistent function.

    and for number above 2, square root of that number will be obviously greater than square root of so cube will be greater than 2^1.5 and divide by 2 will be greater than 2^0.5 so every time you will get exponentially increasing number and vis versa (with number less than 2)
    Fun fact:If you will do square root of any number and cube it and divide by number itself you will also get loop

    It actually makes perfect sense.
    Square root of 2 is 2^(1/2). Then, cube it. Now it’s 2^(3/2). Now divide it by 2, and that’s the same as multiplying it by 2^(-1). Since the bases are the same (2), then we can add the powers. 2^(3/2-1)=2^(1/2) which is what we started with.

    For those who don’t understand … Terrance Howard is missing the fact that “dividing by 2” is the problem when he tries to apply this formula to other numbers. A similar loop can be done with any other number so long as a person divides the by the number that is equal to the starting value, instead of two. The issue Howard missed is that the starting value changes, but the dividing value doesn’t. Somehow, somewhere, someone neglected to explain that to him when he was younger, which has made him fixate on it. A two minute conversation would have solved it.

    (√2)³ = √2 * √2 * √2
    Since √2 * √2 = 2:
    (√2)³ = 2 * √2
    (2 * √2)/2 = √2
    Back where you started.
    He says thats only the case for 2, but thats only if you divide by 2 at the end. If you divide by the mumber you started with, itll always be a loop, no matter what number you pick. In mathematical terms:
    [(√x)³]/x = √x.
    This is true for any x except zero, since dividing by zero is undefined.

    2^1/2 is the square root of two. Cube it, it’s 2^3/2. Divide it by 2, it’s (2^3/2)*(1/2) which is equal to (2^3/2)*(2^-1) which is equal to 2^(3/2 - 1), which is equal to 2^1/2. We’re back at the start, just cube it again and repeat. Same goes for number 3, just divide it by 3 instead of 2 (basically 3^-1). You can do this with any (positive) number ‘n’, just divide the cubed square root of ‘n’ by ‘n’ and repeat.

    I'm not sure why he said it doesn't work for any other number, because it does.
    Take any number x, and squareroot it, then cube, then divide by x.
    So x -> √x -> √(x^3) (rewrite) √(x • x • x) (simplify) x√x -> (x√x)/x -> √x
    The reason it works is because the operation of cubing a square root makes a 3/2 power, which means dividing by x will remove a full power and bring it back to a 1/2 power.
    Loops absolutely make sense in math, they happen quite often, Euler's number has plenty of loops to it.

    • @henryhe5945
      @henryhe5945 Před 4 měsíci +65

      The reason it doesn’t work for him is because he is dividing by 2 and not x, even when x is not 2. Also I don’t understand what he even means by “loops”. It’s just two operations that happen to cancel each other out. The only reason it is a “loop” is because he instructed everyone to repeat those operations.

    • @MOK-ns7ew
      @MOK-ns7ew Před 4 měsíci +1

      yeah this will work with any number if you divide it by the original number sqrd, the square of the square root of two is two, so it only sounds crazy because the number two seems so basic when really he is just conforming the equation to fit into this simple seeming number so that it is miraculous and not random seeming, silly

    • @awaythestone
      @awaythestone Před 4 měsíci

      @@MOK-ns7ewthis is a paradox that proves the infinite possibilities of the universe, take a square, a perfect square and draw a line from one corner to the next corner, you'll find that the measurement for that diagonal is infinite, no matter how precise the measurement is, you will never find a rational number for the diagonal of a perfect square, now the question is, why is that controversial?
      It's controversial because if you take that same perfect square and now split it into three or four or five or six pieces and so on, you will now find a rational number, to better visualize, say you have a perfect square and you have split it into three separate pieces, or three rectangles, so what was once a perfect square, has now become three separate rectangles, once again, measure from corner to corner and you'll find a rational number, a number that does not continue on infinitely for the diagonal of that rectangle, do you see the controversy now?
      Why is it that a square can not be perfectly halved but a imperfect square can
