Terrific to see young folk around horses. We do not have enough of of them around to carry on from where we left off!

I felt so bad for that girl who struggled with Confidence.
My confidence was at 0 due to so many falls on a horse that constantly kept refusing and running out, I got fairly badly hurt one day and couldn't look at a jump without absolutely having a panic attack, and took so long to build that confidence back up again. For two years or so I didn't touch a jump, I'm so glad RACE kept me on and helped me build it enough and focused on it, because I wouldn't have been able to touch a jump ever again, I was literally in this girls place once scared absolutely frozen at going fast or going near a jump, I'd want to throw up, now I'm schooling 3 year old breakers over Cheltenham Recreated Fences going on to get my license soon, if it wasn't for the people who stuck by me despite that constant build up only to get knocked down again when I fell and having to rebuild from scratch I wouldn't be where I am today and I can't thank them enough for it.
I really wish she had been given more of a chance and more time to develop further and work through her confidence, she had a lot of potential, and a really genuine personality, though there may be more circumstances behind the scenes that influenced the final decision it's such a shame. I do hope she picks up riding again someday.

What you do is pull bit up in its mouth squeeze legs and give it a belt of whip. Simple as that

From a human health care professional and international horse trainer with a dose of humour,; once horses get into the blood of humans, they are way too big to get out! As Churchill once stated. "There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a human".

I never got to ride horses when l was younger. I worked in jim Bulgers in killkenny for a year, mucking out stables. I quit because they wouldn't let me ride. That's all l wanted. I didn't like to see other women l worked with get to ride the horses. I was so disappointed 😞

Whilst safety around horses is the number 1 criteria, I ask all trainees when the last time they were kicked! Many say never! That tells me that they have not been around enough horses of different ages for long enough. and the longer you go without a horse causing pain the closer we become to a pain session caused by a horse. Accidents happen.

Sometimes a little knowledge is dangerous, we all learn through theory and practice,. Most start off by training horses with ideas of their own and end up training horses in a way that is a long way from what we first thought!

I've been a Licensed Exercise Rider and Jockey in the US (midwest) for 12 years. Those kids wouldn't last a day at a track here.
It would be nice if a school like that existed here. I get so tired of seeing muck sacks galloping racehorses. The US tracks are so full of illegal immigrants, maybe if we taught young motivated Americans how to ride on the track we wouldn't have so many horses breaking down because of bad riders.

I don't know. A lot of places wouldn't take them. And a lot of the teaching is tough love. You have to be tough. Or some people will walk All over you.

As an international horse trainer, it is surprising how many of these young adults can't read, write or perform simple maths equations. How will they understand history, geography, biology chemistry, and so on!

There's nothing on search engines about your training . Where do you train and what's your best horse?

The egos of these kids is mental. Everything that’s wrong with the horse world, where’s the sportsmanship? Where’s the unity in the horsemanship? If someone doesn’t know something that you do, TEACH THEM. Don’t be a dick about it, we all learn something new, no one knows everything about horses.
