CJ out here reading defenses like the Bible
Yessuhh! 🙏🏾
😂😂😂🎯🤘🏾
You win 🎉
I have almost zero clue what he is saying but I could watch him go over his plays for hours. Its the confidence, bro is truly that dude.
First of all I’d like to thank my lord and savior Coleridge Bernard.
I need a 2 hr version of this lke I need oxygen
Would give anything to just be a fly on the wall for his film sessions with the Texans. So so good
I’d love to see him with the QB School dude
Y'all remember when everybody was saying this kid was dumb 😂😂.
As a teacher , even my gifted students sometimes did poorly on tests.
@@donnagreene7766 probably out of boredom... I was always in advanced placement classes and I always found myself daydreaming when I should have been taking test... When your brain is wired for curiosity , Being forced to sit at a desk filling out a sheet of paper isn't enough to captivate you more often than not. Thank you for the job that you do though Teachers really don't get the praise they deserve.
@@bradleyhendricks8606 it sounds like you're more preoccupied with people calling *you* dumb lol
@@chumerranion778 ...Not that it really matters much tbh , but umm .....What exactly was the point of this comment? How exactly am I preoccupied? And who's calling me dumb? 🤔🤷....I mean I have my moments, but I'm willing to bet my mensa membership card I'm probably smarter than you and a majority of the people you associate yourself with while you sit back and want to call me "preoccupied" ....but anyways have a good one chief 🙂✌️
@@bradleyhendricks8606 The video is about CJ--even your original comment is about CJ, but then you make the issue about yourself (for some reason) and your own struggles with conventional measures of intelligence. Reeks of insecurity to me. As does unironically waving around a mensa membership.
this kid is brilliant, hes going to take us far
Every time I watch this kid I feel like someone needs to pinch me so that I know I’m not dreaming. The future is definitely bright!
too bad for OSU he couldn't do crap against the true champions of the Big 10...UM, owners of the Nattie!!!!
@@lennyj2080 nobody here cares.
@@lennyj2080 Hard to play offense when the Def knows the play. #Cheaters
@@lennyj2080 You mean that team that cheated the 2 years they played against him? They didn't stop him as he had good stats both games. If Ohio State's defense had a pulse, they win both times even with the cheating. They cheated CJ out of the Heisman, twice!
Man, as a Texans fan, it still hasn’t sunk in that we have a QB like this. You can see and feel the joy he has talking football. A special person and player with the potential to be in the hall of fame one day. CJ impresses me more and more every time that I watch him. It’s like a dream!
Incredible how cj plays outside of structure while playing in structure
And he's processing this information that defense is giving him within 3-4 seconds. It's unbelievable how fast you have process defense and make quick decisions post snap in the NFL.
I 10000% agree with your point but it's even more impressive than that. He plays on schedule so well, it's really like 2 - 3 seconds, which is bonkers. A second in an NFL pocket is an eternity!
3 seconds is too long for the NFL... try closer to sub 2
Quarterbacking is really hard. Thank you Nate for all the great work.
He needs to be less quaterbacky like Lamar Jackson who is the perfect mix of quarterbacky and runningbacky
Where is Lamar now? Cancun!@@Messup7654
This kid is a genius….
No they called him STUPID REMEMBER! BLASPHEMY
Bro these plays were obvious I’m more impressed that he watches film and cares about losing
@@redhunnid5142 yeah bro 4th read is really that obvious? also his second throw he purposefully didnt hit the man running into the blitz zone, which is the obvious play. instead he saw the backer coming to cover the blitz zone so took a shot at the seam. both of these plays shows that CJ has something extra. what a dumb comment
@@redhunnid5142 "hold my beer"
Geniuses typically aren't easily duped into believing that it's somehow moral or decent to tell a developing young mind that they are born broken and sinful and require salvation from an invisible father figure who refuses to ever demonstrate himself objectively. A genius might care more about what's true than what they were told in some book that brings them personal comfort. A genius might care enough about the MILLIONS of young minds they're impacting to actually put in the time and effort to understand and value a sound epistemologal stance on the world, instead of one that will only lead to future problems when reality doesn't align with the irrational nonsense they've been being fed by their idols. Be better, CJ..
This guy process the game so well. Going to be a stud for the Texans for years to come.
This guy is ridiculously talented. Up and coming team that I love to watch.
He’s not talented he’s skilled. All that we saw in this video is hard work and study. Talent is only the starting point.
@@Fraustyy “he’s not talented”😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ok
Gotcha
Parsing “talented” and “skilled” as if they’re mutually exclusive 🤡💩
@@saw12367 you’re not understanding me. I’m only saying that talent is the starting point in the beginning of any person’s endeavor. Obviously he’s talented, I’m not saying he’s not. To have football IQ like that is not talent. It is a skill honed by playing and studying.
@@Fraustyy Gotcha...my bad...thanks for the thoughtful reply...have a great weekend
@@Fraustyy his talent is his ability to break the defense down so fast in real time. plenty QBs put in the work behind the scenes but cant process the field that quickly once the ball is snapped. Can't teach that.
CJ has a future in media 15 years from now!
Or coaching!
Hopefully 20+ 😃
I love cerebral QBs. Love his breakdown, scheme is good too
he doesn’t take tests , he plays football.
too bad for OSU he couldn't do crap against the true champions of the Big 10...UM, owners of the Nattie!!!!
@@lennyj2080 You just gonna spam every comment? #Cheaters
You mean cheaters?@@lennyj2080
It's so funny now about that test shit. This dude is so smart football wise.
@@lennyj2080 Congrats you got your first natty in 20+ years. Now your whole team is gone, and youll be back to losing 3-4 games a year. It's okay.
Yeah we're gonna need you guys to do whatever it takes to get a longer version of this in the offseason. Throw the bag at him, I beg.
CJ said DeMeco teaches him to read defenses in addition to Slowik of course.
CJ said at the beginning of the season, he studied their playbook day and night. Slowik said, "He didn't want to go out without command of the offense and w/out knowing all the answers." So much so that coaches had to tell him to schedule downtime too to avoid burnout. Their WR coach Ben McDaniels said coaches were amazed at the amount of info he could absorb.
Abigail who do you think we should draft with the 23rd pick?
That’s my quarterback, man😢
Go Texans!!🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
Can't imagine being a Panthers fan, this dude is like the best QB you could ask for.
this kid is the greatest
Ball placement specialist! 😎😎
This is probably one of the best pieces of football content I’ve seen dang
If you enjoyed this, the NFL released a series of about 10 videos with different players breaking down their plays. Look up Davante Adams Breaks Down Releases to find the playlist
For a kinda old guy who never got past division 3 quarterbacking, I really enjoy watching CJ ball
Holy cow that break down was awesome. More stuff like this! CJ is the dude! And Nate…”yes, sir.” Feeling old? 😂 Respectful young man.
CJ is smart as a rookie to develop this quick it’s like a new born baby talking very early, CJ is blessed…
Its like a newborn baby beating a career lawyer in a debate 😂
But the S2 cognition test said…
He did it on purpose to come to Houston
Can we get breakdowns like this from more QBs analyzing their own plays? This was really awesome to see. Channels like the QB School are great for this, but the analysis coming from the actual QB in the clip makes it even more interesting
I love that he is all about the media scene! He could totally do a show or coaching in the future! Talent for days
kid is different!!! go texans
Legitimately a special player. He's doing stuff in year 1 I was asking of QBs in their year 3. Elite pre-snap and post-snap processing.
It's so fun to hear CJ break all of this down and what he was seeing to be able to make these quick time decision thorws is just amazing! Thank you Lord for this young man! That's my QB! Go Texans!!!
I thought he’d be good but reading that live is very very good. I think a lot of people owe Nick C the GM some apologies for what he put together this last year including probably some of my takes when they dropped Hopkins haha.
CJ Stroud plays like how Brady preaches when I think of it. Breaking it down, focus on ball placement, being a baller.
Yall NFL is in trouble if hes this smart as a rookie jsut think how much better he will be next year
Rest and so many things he doesn't have to worry about this offseason. Texans lighting up scoreboards next season.
@@ericparker163 so excited man
Best QB the Texans could hope for! 💪💯
So he doesn't hit the usual answers, instead he chooses the more aggressive ones. Playing chess with the DC.
Slowik said when he talks to him, it's like talking to a coach. This comes from a lot of film study and his awesome football memory.
Aggressive with deadly accuracy. Watching the team that gets built around him with DeMeco and Nick working together, its going to be awesome.
its truly elite play. even when you are right as a defense he makes you wrong.
hes mentally fast enough to make the read you should, and still have time to respond to the defense reacting to the initial correct read, and then throw and hit the route which becomes more open as the defense tries to adjust and cut off that tradional "correct" read.
i could listen to athletes breaking their tape down all friggen day.
This breakdown is amazing
CJ is so impressive 🔥🔥
My family's from San Antonio I don't really mess with the Texans, but this kid is a national treasure. Protect him at all costs.
Nate has been working through all these looks in his head on a loop. The mind of Nate Tice is a beautiful thing!
The Texans are so lucky to get CJ. He's a real one.
Yo CJ really the goat
Gah damn I’m glad my team drafted him!!! Holy shit .
This type of content is fascinating for a football fan who didn't grow up playing. Learned a lot from this 🙌
CJ🎉
Insert Anchorman ‘What did you say’ meme 😂 CJ is dope as hell, so cool listening to this breakdown
After seeing this, I think the S2 company needs to wrap it up. It’s over.
Fascinating! So good!
I will buy all the Pepsi in the world if you keep delivering this kind of content.
I would be so dope to hear him break down film on the Ravens wildcard matchup on what he saw and what he would do differently.
Nothing, nothing, nothing, !!!! Pressure, run!.......no, no, dang nothing...x30 Texans couldn't anything going. I think its more about the strength of the Ravens than it is the failure of CJ or the Texans. We're coming back stronger next year.
I LOVE THIS MAN!
WILD CHERRY THATS THE SHHHHH .. CJ JSTROUDS.. BALLIN !!!!
hes literally playing outside strucutre while within structure and still in the pocket and on-time. insane. For as much as people talk about Caleb Williams and his abilities, CJ is doing stuff thats an entire level beyond the play Caleb has been lauded for.
Awesome video
That was fun. He said he was mic'd up, I wish I could hear it.
It's on youtube. NFL Mic'ed up Week 10 the Arizona game
This is amazing bro thank you guys for this
Such an awesome video! Love all of the film breakdowns from Nate because they make me a smarter fan.
This was actually very nice to watch and learn.... I think I prefer Nate Tice in this format - well done dude
Thanks for posting this, it's a great opportunity to learn about him as a young man and leader of his team. What a bright star, I will be tracking his progress surely.
Regardless of what sport you like, you gotta admit that being a QB in the NFL is the toughest position to play in professional sports. You literally have to process information in seconds before you get your head taken off with the chance of a suffering a season ending injury.
New favorite series, love the players breaking down their film
That's awesome keep going cj
He's a joy to watch and I believe that he's going to win a Superbowl.💯🔥💯❤️
Love this format.
This was so fun to watch
This segment is so great.
Well, processing all that info that fast makes you wonder about his S2 score :D Love it. Kid's going places and seems very humble. Keep it up CJ :)
Excellent content !!
Much love CJ
Super Awesome. Excellent all around
Insanely good, more more more
this is so good
This was absolutely fantastic
He is amazing. Best rookie qb I’ve ever seen. Also love this type of content. I like seeing NFL QBs break down coverage and their reads. Idk just satisfying.
CZJ is Amazing when it comes to reads!!!
This is dope content 👌
That test that measured his comprehension of diagnosing plays should be thrown out. He clearly can read defenses well beyond his years.
I'm a lifelong Saints fan and I think CJ Stroud is probably my favorite quarterback in the NFL right now.
love hearing the QB break this stuff down vs some QB guru. Finally fun to be a Texans fan.
This is so damn cool.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This is everything
I’m not going to lie I love people who love the game and you can tell both these guys love the gMe
This is super cool
5:45 so when CJ was mic'd up for this, CJ complained that the ball was really wet. They had their center, Deiter, change jerseys because that mofo was sweating too much and CJ couldn't grip the football very well 💀
CJ stroud is very impressive!
The way this dude throws with anticipation is what single handedly brought me into the light and made me realize justin Fields is not it for the Bears. 3 years in and i havent seen him throw a receiver open like this once. Makes you realize theres such levels to QB play and it all starts to make senses why the Bears offense stalls so often and why things look so hard sometimes. Sure our OC played a part but there are so many times we have open receivers and dude simply doesnt throw it to them. CJ is like a God to me. Wish we had a QB who could throw like this.
CJs dead stare at the camera in the beginning cracked me up
lmao you stupid for this comment. Even had me go back and watch it 😂😂
Imagine all starting QBs doing this live. Would be cool to see whose got that processing factor and who doesn’t
amazing
Houston fans must be pinching themselves at the thought of this kid being their franchise qb for the decade plus.
I’m a ravens fan, CJ Stroud is great. I would love to see what he thinks of the ravens defense and everything. I wish him nothing but the best!
Man I love this. This dude is bright and talented. Stroud is really the next big QB in the NFL.
Buckeyes and Jags fan and cannot tell you how gutted I was to see him go number two and have to face him twice a year! He is scary and this is just a small example of why. Good luck to him.
anyone who ever says a non-qb should win mvp needs watch this video. the amount of information the qb has to process is insane, and then they actually have to have the arm talent to make it happen. its ludicrous
I want an entire series of this so badly with NFL QBs going through their own tape and explaining their thought process. I can understand why they might not be to keen to do so though. This is like the football version of those RapGenius videos where artists explain the lyrics in their songs.
a lot football fans have no idea how complex understanding coverages can actually be. especially when it comes to modern split field defenses.
Madden doesn't come close to actually reflecting all the different permutations of zone coverages and the how the rules for specific positions within those same coverages vary by team.
We need more. And that’s not a request.
6:12. The ball placement here is literally inch-perfect. Never, ever miss high to a guy crossing the middle. The receiver wants that ball exactly where it was.
Yessirski
The NFL marketing brass probably be drooling over dude. Dude already may be one of the most marketable athlete in the US market. EZ 💵
