- This is an introduction video demonstrating Geoff Peterson 1.0 for The Late Late Show. It was filmed late at night on the night on April 1, 2010 (which is technically Geoff's official inception date). The first version of Geoff had a button box to trigger the sequences. Later this was changed to wireless control using an iPad. Josh Robert Thompson provided the voice for Geoff since the beginning, with an offscreen operator controlling Geoff. In 2011, Josh took over voicing and puppeteering duties full time, and that is how it has remained since then.
We will forever miss you Grant. May you keep making robots & doing what you love wherever your soul / mind / etc has landed. R.I.P 2020

I never knew Grant made one of the funniest sidekicks in Late Night TV history, RIP a great mind.
They had Grant on a few times as a guest where they talked about it. Even once when Geoff broke so they had Grant fix him during the monologue so Craig could heckle him while he worked in the background. If I remember right, it more or less backfired on Craig because it took Grant all of 10 seconds to do the repair, and he was just "ok, I'm done!"
Geoff truly came to life once Josh started voicing and controlling him.
That's when the show really took off.

Grant, your talent was tremendous, and you are missed a lot. I am so glad I got to meet you at lunch. Geoff was one of your greatest creations, and he (Josh Robert Thompson) still makes us laugh.

RIP Grant. Geoff was one of the greatest things to watch every night before bed. I miss this show so much, and Grant's contribution literally made half the show.
I just realized that Craig was voice acting as a Dalek when he recorded that voice!
So it's not just me who thinks it sounds like a dalek, ^^

I hated math as a kid. By proxy, I hated science due to how frequently the two subjects went hand in hand. Watching Mythbusters though made the subject fun and accessible due to the humor and breakdowns of scientific concepts. Rest in Peace, Grant, You were taken too soon as the good always are. Take peace in knowing that some kid who grew up watching Mythbusters might have been inspired to become the person who invents the next medical breakthrough or cures cancer. You are gone, but like the rest of the Mythbusters crew, you will never be forgotten by our generation
Thank you so much for your work Grant. Helped inspire many people to be more passionate about science and how our world works. Rest easy.

I forgot that Grant made this robot, its amazing that this guy through his ability in electronics and engineering was able to facilitate so much comedy down the line.
R.I.P Grant. I never went on to pursue science, but I will always champion logic and reason in my art because of your impact in my formative years.

Wonder if he would of done anything differently with his time if he knew at that moment when he made this video he only had another 7 years with us.....? Makes me wonder how much time I have left. I spent many hours of my life enjoying his creations, watching him work, laughing, and truly being amazed! Thanks for all the good times!
