- She became known as the “hugging teacher” after a video of her students hugging each other went viral. First grade teacher Zelene Blancas posted the video in November 2018 with the simple caption “what a nice way to end the week!” But today, Blanca’s students at her elementary school in El Paso, Texas are in mourning after losing their beloved teacher to COVID-19. In October, the 35-year-old tested positive for COVID-19, and spent nine weeks in the ICU before succumbing to the virus. #InsideEdition

One of my teachers also passed away she was a really nice teacher. she died from brain cancer. She fought the battle the first time then came back more aggressive. May she rest in peace.

I have went to that school all my life before I went to middle school last year it's so sad to see Mrs. Blancas pass she was such a kind amazing woman. God bless her and her family she was truly an amazing woman.

Everyone yes she did die from COVID 19 she was on a ventilator and couldn't last any longer.

@@ramixpAPEX yup.. and social media has a big role in it sadly. When internet came for first time people were respectful towards each other and careful cause it was all new.
It was a fun and good place until depressing news channels made accounts on several social apps, politics and violence were sent in videos who brought anger and sadness to people who later made people less sensitive to others and then caused wars on internet, people can type behind their screen, horrible words... without anything happening to them...

@C Mee weight doesn’t always cause death, usually it takes around 350 lbs + before very severe obesity symptoms, obesity makes you more susceptible to covid however. But if you had minor diabetes, caught covid and died from the virus, was it the diabetes?
I’ve heard of that it’s so sad, it reminds me of when I heard that my kindergarten teacher died from cancer a few years back, her name was Ms.Friend. She was the best teacher I’ve ever had, I’ll always remember her and to Ms. Zeal’s family, friends and students I send my condolences.
