- Yet another modular piece with the small system+Bitwig, and possibly the last track before Modular Works V is released (April 2nd). Huge thanks to Amy Wallace for providing some really beautiful ambient vocals, which in my opinion really elevate this track to a new level. Considering she's a classical soprano singer and not used to this kind of thing, I'm really impressed with what she came up with, and her vocals really helped inspire the final version!

Apart from the fantastic work - I'm trying to figure out just how you managed the overall look of the film. I don't think it's possible with my Canon 5D2. I suspect you are able to add high ISO with little noise added with the black magic camera system. It seems like you likely used the lens wide open at f1.8 as well. I bought the SLR Magic adapter, but that requires lenses to be stopped down to about f4, which is a lot less light brought in than your lens. My (many) attempts at getting a film quality even closely resembling yours has fallen quite short. So - congrats on both the music and the presentation.
If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

I do have an old modular standing under a desk that i've built decades ago...i don't even dare to switch it on, afraid that it explodes :-)

The voicing on the lead around 9:20 or so reminds me of some of the stuff on 'Epsion in Malaysian Pale'. I love your take on this voicing as reminds but does not duplicate. A stunning track. Watching these is so inspiring. I'm just starting on my modular journey and dream someday I can put together something like this. I really appreciate all the patch notes you write, and diving in to your VCV patch (Silk Nebulae) was really helpful too.
If you don't mind, in your physical setups how are you recording to your DAW to preserve the stereo width? I assume some of these tracks have pan being stereo modulated by something? Do you just have an external mixboard to pair up with all those other synths you have outside of your modular gear? Or do you do some level of mixing within eurorack too?

Thanks! I don't really have a specific site I use, but I do have a lot of sample packs I've collected over the years from different places (probably all of them). Loopmasters and Splice are good places to find those.

Loving this mate. I just wanted to ask. Are you self taught or do you have a music background. A degree in music or something. I have been messing with music since 1990. I started off as a DJ and tried to go a different way after about 10 years using Ableton live and controllers and try to create my own style of music. Unfortunately I sought of got off the groove for a while. Well I do play a little bit but not a lot these days. Had to make changes as you do in life. Listening to your music reminds me of what I am capable of and can put together. Maybe a little more up beat but very similar sounds and timing with the changes. You are very smooth and clean with your sounds. Keep it up mate. You have skill and great ability.
