Whoa what an unexpected and pleasant surprise! Thank you so much for the kind words and inclusion of our video in this! It was awesome meeting you both and what an amazing show to boot. That Flamin' Groovies cover was absolutely killer. I think the Lemon Twigs are easily the best songwriting team in the indie world today. I advise anyone who is able to see them on this tour to do so!
Hope to catch you guys soon. We'll be playing the Government Center next Saturday if you're free. Cheers 🤘
their drummer for the time being is reza from the band uni boys! they are fantastic power poppers who are gonna open for them for a few shows in late april i believe! excited to see the both of them in LA finally!
Hi guys, 64-year-old grandma here (graduated high school 1976). I'm a big Lemon Twigs fan since the beginning, and I took my 34-year-old daughter to their gig at the Thunderbird Cafe. I'm not that knowledgeable about music in general, but I admire the fact that these guys play many instruments well and, of course, the brother harmonies. I loved their live stuff. The bass player (Danny) is (I think) their original keyboard player! I believe they are opening for the Killers tonight in Pittsburgh at the Peterson Center in Oakland.
Nice! Yeah they got upgraded to the killers tour. Good to see them get the recognition. - Joe
Good for you, Leah! 👏👏👏
The Lemon Twigs are the BIGGEST breath of fresh air to come along in decades. Magnificent!!!
The great ones make it look effortless.
That was really cool; a nice change in programming, very compelling. Your collective enthusiasm for the band and the evening was infectious. Kudos for bringing Levi on; he did great! You should do more live reviews. Get out there! Best, JPE
They have a live concert album on bandcamp
Nice when members of the community get some video time. Good job, Levi.
My gal saw them open for the killers 3 days and said they killed it .
Sounds like it was a great show! I would really love to see them live myself, hopefully someday I will get a chance. It was cool to see clips from the show and hear a bit from the opening acts too. That Flamin' Groovies cover sounds like it was awesome, loved seeing that clip at the end!
Kramzer is taking the day off to sharpen his edgelord sword.
Looks like a great show! Amazing venue. I'm really looking forward to the new album. I've been playing Any Time of Day incessantly. Bridges and key changes are both dying in modern pop and it has both! Love it. - Shannon :)
cool to have a citizen up in the vid....he did good .... and the coffee mug is chunky
Really nice review from the 3 of you! A guy handed me a flyer for the upcoming Lemon Twigs concert 2 days ago at a Pixies concert, I was like "Oh cool they're coming, maybe I should see them", now I definitely want to see them.
Saw them in St. Louis after being introduced to them by you guys!
Sounds like we need a "Lemon Twigs Alive!" album.
and Alive II!
2:20 In all fairness, Greta Van Fleet is "not copying a specific band". The word "influence" is a better term, in same vain as Led Zeppelin being influenced by American blues artists from the South. But great review guys!!
These guys bring so much life into their music despite how derivative they can seem. I find it much more respectful to the era it’s pulling from than something like Greta Van Fleet. Excited to hear their new record later this year.
I saw the thumbnail. I saw the band name. I knew Jason would somehow be involved.
We were at this show.
I loved this review despite being unfamiliar with all three acts. Jason, as usual, expressed himself with clarity. Joe appeared energized by the show and format. Not sure if you should include a random person. Levi had his moments but was understandably out of his depth. The videos of the acts enhanced the experience.
Flamin' Groovies? Cool! I first heard of them when I read a book about Iggy Pop. Then in the mid 90's I got Groovies' Greatest Grooves. I'm going to look up that song.
Love the first album Do Hollywood so much. Everything that’s come out since not so much 😢
Tough. - Joe
@@TastesLikeMusic tough criticism or tough shit?
Pick one. 😂
im the opposite, their first album is cool but man, songs for the general public is amazing. their new record is set to be just as great if not better imo.
Ok, but was it as good as Songs of Surrender?
Kramzer looks different
he stopped taking his estrogen tablets.
Fuck. I shouldda gone to this. 😖
It ruled.
What was the name of the second opener, slugbug?
Yep
What if Kramzer actually died, and Jason and Joe actually replaced him here with Levi, but then realized that the people liked Kramzer, so they decided to make an AI-generated version of Kramzer as their partner and they’ve had him ever since!? 😱
Hey, it’s just a theory, food for thought 💭 lol
#Kramisdead
damn if kramnz gets kicked off the show i will never get that whitesox hat⚾⚾🧦🧦🧦
The Lemon Wussies. Just kidding! Relax
That's funny. I'm an old dude and I enjoy their songs. I believed Todd Rundgren got behind this band early on. After hearing them I saw them on Jimmy Kimmel Live. I'm glad they are still at it in this fickle industry.
@@maximusindicusoblivious180 They're very good, I'll give them that. I just like to tease Jason about liking wussy music.
Re: SlugBug. Never heard of him, but based on that very short clip, it seems to me if you like that you’d also like Ariel Pink and John Maus.
