    🙀 These guys take their music seriously w/o employing any gimmicks, everyone in sync with one another. It became more obvious that this is a studio recording over a live performance on video, especially when you hear two guitars playing together. They are professional sounding and have lots of energy to spare. I wish them the best.

    Amazing song. Amazing band. Amazing guitar. Ive been listening to metal and classic rock for 40 years. This really is fucking good. Loving the new album by Anthem. If you like guitar solos listen to “Howling Days” from the same album or “Master Of Disaster”!

    Grabs you by the throat right out of the gate and doesn't let go! Great stuff!

    I'm a big Anthem fan since 1985, but the moment I heard Akio Shimizu (joined around 1992) he immediately became one of my favorite guitar players ever. It became a tradition, he's having an instrumental on almost every album and the one on the new album doesn't disappoint neither. Kudos for rating Ronni Le Tekrø. Hopefully we'll get one final great TNT album. The ones with Mills and the last one were too streaky, to put it politely.

    This might help with the names (or make them more confusing).
    The vowels are all basically the same as Spanish, etc. (a-i-u-e-o --> ah-ee-oo-eh-oh). If you get the vowel sounds and pronounce the consonants like English, you'll be pretty close. The biggest difference is probably "r" since there isn't really a hard "r" sound in Japanese. It's more like the trilled "r" in Spanish, but without multiple trills. It's kind of between "D" and "L" and made with the tongue rather than the lips (as would be the case with a hard "r").
    Also, there is emphasis on certain syllables, but it's fairly subtle. My advice is usually to use a monotone and you'll be pretty close.
    Naoto Shibata --> Nah-oh-toh Shee-bah-tah
    Akio Shimizu --> Ah-kee-oh Shee-mee-zoo
    Yukio Morikawa --> Yoo-kee-oh Moh-ree-kah-wah
    Isamu Tamaru --> Ee-sah-moo Tah-mah-roo
    I hope that helps. If not...uh, sorry!
    Anthem is an awesome band. I've been a fan since the 1980s (yeah, I'm old), and I never worry about whether a new Anthem album will be good or not. They've been incredibly consistent over the years. You always know that you're going to get an album full of good thumpy-crunchy, energetic, tightly performed melodic heavy metal.
    You mentioned Rainbow in this video (as well as the reaction to "Wheels of Fire"). Just about every hard rock/heavy metal band in Japan since the late 1970s has been influenced by Deep Purple/Rainbow/Ritchie Blackmore to one degree or another. Even in pop songs, I'll sometimes hear some very "Blackmore-esque" guitar work. The back bands for pop singers/teen idol singers are often metalheads, so you end up with a saccharine-sweet cutesy song with a shredfest in the middle. Even the legendary Akira Takasaki of Loudness started out in what was basically a "boy band" called "Lazy." The drummer was also a founding member of Loudness and was a member until his death (cancer) in 2008.
    Here's a sample of the cheesiness that was Lazy. If you can't go there from the URL, you can search for the song "Akazukin-chan Go-yojin" performed by Lazy.

    Was more thinking of Fast as a shark, with a Rainbow-ish bridge to a Painkiller chorus. The second killer song. Now let’s hope the album keeps that level (will then be without a doubt be a top 10 of the year for me)!

      One of the great things about Anthem is that they have been very consistent in the quality of their releases. You always know that you're going to at least get a solid energetic melodic metal album.
