I finally got around to doing the coolant temperature sensor mod. You use a sensor from Nissan. I've heard it's for a Pulsar or Sentra. If you search: Engine Coolant Fan Temperature Switch - 21595-01A00 on Ebay, it'll come right up. The genuine ones are going for $50+ but this was only $12. So far, it's keeping the bike about 30 degrees cooler. Fans come on at 190F instead of 225F (or close to that). I also flushed my coolant multiple times and got a ton of sediment out. Then a quick oil change and the bike is running great!

I did the fan switch mod today. Fan kicks on at 185 instead of 215. I ran the ground to an engine bolt instead of the radiator mount.
    Works just fine.

my friend bought a honda CBR 4fi 2002 and he has such a problem that when the motorcycle is cold, the engine speed rises to 4k. but when the engine warms up, the speed becomes normal 1k-1.5k. Maybe you know what the problem is?

It’s a built in automatic choke they’re meant to go up to 3-4k when warming up in cold

Yes I believe that is standard. That's what mine got up to before the mod

There is a drain plug screw in front of the engine. The manual says, that you have to unscrew it do drain additional coolant. But yeah, this bike is a mess in terms of coolant flush.

Since this is a very high mileage bike, I've heard that trying to drain the block to get the little extra coolant isn't worth it as the bolt snaps frequently if it hasn't been regularly cracked loose. So this way takes a little more time and effort but is safer in my opnion.

@@Moturd nice to know. It seems, that I got lucky. But yes, you flushed the system pretty good.

Having the same issue... i think they just run hot like that. In the summer Mines would get to 220+ in no time. I don't redline but I do and will ride hard. And non-issue thus far.. but I'm here for the temp mod
