The dimensions of a jib crane, which is manufactured
by the Basick Co., are given in the figure. The crane has a
mass of 800 kg and a center of mass at G. The bearing at A
is a journal bearing and can support a horizontal force,
whereas the bearing at B is a thrust bearing that supports
both horizontal and vertical components. Determine the
maximum load F that can be suspended from its end if the
selected bearings at A and B can sustain a maximum
resultant load of 24 kN and 34 kN, respectively.

Sir it says A only supports horizontal force but we put a reaction force there, why?
Same for B it says B supports horizontal and vertical components but we draw reaction forces?

Thanks for the video! Could you just look at FBx = FA to figure out which junction reaches its max first? FBx is only a component of the FB, and since FBx is equal to FA at its maximum allowance, this restricts FB. Is this reasonable? Thanks again for all your work.

Can someone please explain how he got 14 038 from that equation at 3:47? I keep getting -1946 :/

its 24 kN in the video meaning you should use 24000 N (3 m) for that part.
