All the best to your mom, and we’re lucky to get anything you give us.
Thank you very much!! ❤️
Priorities are God, Family, Country. Please don’t worry about us. We can wait. Take care of your mother first. At 93, every day you spend with her is a gift.
Thank you!
❤❤❤
Right back at you: ❤️❤️❤️
Oh my, Britta, I’m so sorry for both you and your mother. My mother is in her 90’s as well and has health issues that require care from all of us children. Falls can be insidious and complicated. How comforting for her to know she has the love and care from her daughter and so happy to know you have the love and comfort of your mother. There’s no other relationship like it. Take care and we’ll see you when you’re up for the next one.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment and your well-wishes! ❤️
Prayers for your mom and you.
Thank you very much! ❤️
Sending love and light to you and your dear mother! ❤✨
Thank you very much!!
All the best to your mother and to you!
Thank you!!
Wishing you all the best with your mother. Thinking of you and her.
Thank you, I really appreciate it! ❤️
Wishing your mom and you all the best 🤗
Thank you very much! ❤️
I'm sorry to hear about your mom's fall and health; sending love and good wishes to you and her!!
Thank you very much! ❤️
Warmest wishes to you and your mother. I hope everything works out for the best.
Thank you very much! ❤️
Very tough to do life and care for a parent - we will definitely understand the situation
Thank you very much for understanding! ❤️
Great to see you Britta & yes priorities for sure 🤝best wishes to both you and your mum 👩❤💋👩💙
Thank you! ❤️
Guten Tag Britta! Hope your mom gets better soon and take care of yourself… ❤
Bonjour, Julie! And thank you very much for your well-wishes! ❤️
I am so sorry to hear about your mum and I truly hope she heals in all ways. Hugs and flowers 💐 to you as you help her through this. It is good to see you back; BookTube is not the same without you! 🥰
Thank you so much, my friend! ❤️
Don’t worry about us.We’ll still be waiting with ‘bated breath and muffled oar for your next video whenever it comes. I found that when I went through something similar to this that the real strain came from feeling very emotional but having to be very practical. Take care of yourself and your mother. And a good book can be very soothing.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment, Stephanie! ❤️
Sorry to hear about your Mum. I hope she will be feeling better soon. I know exactly what it means to balance out work life with taking care of your parents.
Yes, it's tough... Thank you very much for your well-wishes, it means a lot. ❤️
Jasmine Sealy just jumped onto the top tier of my tbr 😂
Yay! I hope you will enjoy it!
I’m so sorry about your mum Britta. I hope things get easier for you both soon. ❤️❤️
Thank you so much, Lori!! ❤️
Hi Britta, my daughter lives with me and my partner. She’s 45 and I’m 73. I like to say that when people ask if I live with my daughter.😀 But she is very helpful and I know if I’m lucky enough to reach a ripe age she will be there to help. I recently had a fall But luckily, nothing was broken. I sent you prayers and healing vibes for your mom. Glad you’re back. Aloha friend.
Thank you very much for your well-wishes, I really appreciate it! ❤️ And how wonderful that your daughter is there to help you!
Brita, I’m sorry to hear your mom is doing poorly. Best wishes to you both. Take care.
Thank you very much, Alicia! ❤️
Dear Britta, as the only son of a widowed mother in her mid-eighties, I can well understand your priorities. It goes without saying that you take care of her. Best wishes for your mother and best regards, Norman
Thank you so much! ❤️
Good to see you Britta! That’s so funny that the Myers-Briggs test is entirely unscientific although to be honest, it’s pretty easy to have it come out the way you want it as the questions are so loaded 😉
That's very true about the Myers-Briggs!
I am really fascinated by the Myers-Briggs. 🤓
It's a fascinating 'origin story', I think you'd like it.
I'm sorry to hear about your mom. That's hard. Keeping you both in my thoughts. ❤
Aww, thank you so much! ❤️
“I forgot the name of the man but that’s not what’s important.” This is why you’re such a gem ❤😂! Thinking of you and your mum xo
Haha, yes, me and names... Oh well. And thank you very much for your well-wishes! ❤️ I hope you're doing better!!
I'm sorry to hear about your mother. I hope she feels better soon, like many others I know how stressful it is.
I just bumped The Island of Forgetting up my list.
Take care of yourself Britta, I think we'll all be happy to see you whenever you can fit in filming. I'm thinking of you and your mother.
I very much appreciate your concern and your well-wishes! And I hope you will enjoy Island of Forgetting
Family always comes first - your viewers will understand and be waiting when you return. My best to you and your mom. I'm now into the second book on your classics list. I refer to this as Britta's Classics.
I am also a fun test taker. If there is one in a magazine etc - I give it a go. I lost count of how many Myers - Briggs tests I've taken - but each one has the same results -- I am an INTJ.
Thank you very much for your lovely comment and your well-wishes! ❤️ Britta's Classics, I love it!
I'm sorry to hear that your mother had a fall and needed surgery. It's tough when they're old and frail, but glad that reading can help, of course it slows down, no need for apologies. Good to see you back whenever you can.
I didn't know anything about the creation of the Myers- Briggs test but would have assumed if asked that it was two male psychologists in the early 20th century. I won't ever read the book I suspect, but really enjoyed you talking about it.
Thank you very much for your lovely comment and your well-wishes! ❤️ And the 'origin-story' of the MB is really fascinating...
Sorry about your Mum's fall 💜
Thank you!
I’ve been through a lot of similar things caring for my mom as well. Best wishes to you and your mom. 🙏❤️
Thank you so much!
Best thoughts for your mum’s recovery. ❤
Thank you so much, Jen! ❤️
Enjoyed the wrap up, Britta, especially the Myers- Brggs book. You have to share what kind of orange eater you are now! 😂I hope everything goes well with your mom- i will keep her in my thoughts.
Haha, I'll keep my orange-eating-habits a secret. LoL. And thank you very much for your well-wishes!
Glad you’re back, if temporarily. Falls are a terrible thing and after a certain point almost inevitably ugly. I hope your mom recovers, and that you don’t overstress yourself.
Thank you very much for your kind words, David! ❤️
Warmest regards to your mother. Please let her know there's someone in Puerto Rico who hates falls and is wishing her the best. Take good care, Britta. Un abrazo. Edit: Oops, I forgot to mention how much I also enjoyed The Island of Forgetting, including the surprise ending.
Thank you so much, Alba, I really appreciate it. ❤️ And Island of Forgetting was wonderful.
I hope your mother will recover as soon as possible.
I have read The Princess of Cleves in February. I read it in French as I am French. I have never read it! I agree with the love story is not very important, but live at the court is interesting. I enjoy the writing as well. I have thought initially, it would be boring, but not at all, it is fluent. A rather good reading for me.
Happy to hear you've enjoyed Princess of Cleves! And thank you very much for your well-wishes, I really appreciate it. ❤️
I can't believe Myers Briggs is not based on science! I think I've had to take it 4 or 5 times for different work teams. And we had to post the results so people would know how to interact with each other. LOL
And best to you and your Mom. Been there.
Thank you very much for your well-wishes! ❤️ And I was flabbergasted as well about the Meyers-Briggs...
Take care of yourself and give our love to your mom.
Thank you! ❤️
So sorry to hear about your mother. I really hope things work out for her and you. Don't worry about this channel. Your mother definitely takes precedence.
Aww, thank you for your lovely comment. ❤️
Best of luck Britta, for you and your mum. No need to fret about being consistent, life is important. We'll be here. My father is 91 and insists on having a Perzisch tapijt 🙄 I just keep my fingers crossed
Oh dear, those carpets... (The first fall my mum had some years back was when her slipper got caught on a carpet edge...) And thank you very much for your well-wishes and your understanding. ❤️
Very tough road for your mom .. sending all my love your way my friend
Thank you very much!! ❤️
That Myers Briggs book/story sounds great. Hoping for the best for you and your mother.
Thank you very much for your well-wishes, Brian, I really appreciate it! ❤️
Anna Katharina
Vielen lieben Dank!! ❤️
Don’t ever apologise for the need to take care of family. Very important that you are free to do that and hope it will be better soon for you both. Apart from that you did well with your reading and your cover of the Princess of Cleves is better than mine. Luckily the mass of blonde hair, red lipstick and a very sultry look didn’t put me off. 😮
Thank you so much Penelope! ❤️ And your comment about the cover of Princess de Cleves had me laugh out loud. I often wonder what the designers thought when they made a cover. Maybe they were drunk. Or stoned. LoL.
Good to see you, so glad talking to us helps you. Sending best wishes to your Mum for a speedy recovery.
Thank you very much! ❤️
Sorry to hear about your mom.
Thank you!
Oh dear Britta, I’m so sorry to hear about your mom’s fall. Please do whatever you need to do to care for her and for yourself. We are all here for you. ❤
I really appreciate your concern and your understanding! ❤️
Commuting to take care of parents and keeping a work life going is a hard path even when you can work digitally or have a short commute. I remember it as a difficult and lonely time no matter how well things were going. Holding on to a sanity-preserving hobby while not sticking to a strict schedule makes perfect sense. Most important, I hope your mother is sleeping well and able to find small pleasures in a constrained day.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment and your understanding! ❤️
We’ll be here for you no matter how often you are able to post videos. Take care and get well wishes to your mom. ✨🌈
That's so lovely to hear, and thank you for your well-wishes! ❤️
Family comes first and I hope your mother recovers quickly. Take care of yourself too while you care for her.
Thank you very much for understanding an your well-wishes! ❤️
My best to your mom for a good recovery.
Thank you very much, Lori! ❤️
Thank you for posting despite your current family dilemma Britta. Hope your mama gets better soon.
Thank you very much! ❤️
Thank you, Britta🌷I’m so sorry to hear about your mother! I wish you both all the best.
I really appreciate your well-wishes, thank you very much, Emma! ❤️
Best wishes for a speedy recuperation for your Mom and strength for you. It can be very draining dealing with medical issues.
Thank you so much! ❤️
Thanks for being back and sharing these difficulties about your mom with us. Taking care of our parents in need of support is much more important than book talk. I hope things will turn out well for her and you. Best regards from the Ruhr area to Cologne, - David 🤗
Thank you so much for your kind words, David! ❤️
Sending well wishes and healing prayers for your Mom!❤🙏
Thank you!! ❤️
Much light to you and your mom, Britta! Take your time. Be well! 💖
Thank you so much! ❤️
Sorry to hear about your Mom and her fall. Sending up prayers and good thoughts. Remember in the middle of all this remember to take care of yourself.
Thank you so much!! ❤️
Hope your mom gets better soon. The Personality Brokers sounds the most interesting in that there is no scientific basis in assessing personality types.
Thank you for your well-wishes! ❤️
Best of luck for your mother! Health is such a precarious thing, especially at her age.
Thank you very much! ❤️
Hoping your Mum has a good recovery. Take care of yourself.
Thank you very much, I really appreciate it. ❤️
Sending good thoughts your way and hoping the best for your mom. ❤️
Thank you very much, Nina! ❤️
So sorry to hear about your mom, Britta. I will be thinking about you and hoping for a speedy recovery.
Thank you so very much, Sherri! ❤️
Most important thing at this moment is being with and taking care of Mom. Please be with her as much as you can. We can sit out here and send you both love and a ton of healing for her.
I read this book also and found it more like an historical review of the times. Then I realized that it was exactly what it was only mixed as a novel of the times. I felt it was more like something I might have found in a history book. Yes, it was boring, I think because we all knew practically from the first page what was going to happen. Then I remembered that it was supposed to be the first love/novel at court. Taking it like that as a 'first' then it all made sense.
Worth the read as you think of it in terms of the 'first'.... I could just see the ladies peeking and gossiping!!
Thank you very much for your kind words! And I very much appreciated your take on the book. I had the same, I could picture all the ladies gossiping and spying on each other...
Britta, sorry about your mom's fall. I'm only in my 60s but had my own nasty fall in January (dog's fault). Ironically, it happened on the very last day I had him. (I found another family to adopt him.) Seven weeks later, my elbow is still sore. Getting old sucks. Glad to see you back.
Yes, getting old sucks. It really does!
Sending you and your mother warm and healing thoughts, Britta. ❤️
Thank you very much, I really appreciate it! ❤️
