In almost every reaction video I have seen of this song, no one really seems to understand how good Ustaad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is. They don't really seem to know what it took for guys like Rahat to practice and master the art of singing. Guys like him spend hours everyday practicing and do not stop even after mastering it because they do not ever stop learning. There is a reason he is called Ustaad (Master). The thing with Rahat is that you can practice all your life but you will never get that thick warm voice at higher notes. All guys singing this high would sound very thin and squeaky. And that's one reason what makes Rahat so special.

Why we Pakistanis always forget that although Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan sahib sung the song but the lyrics are written by an 'Indian' poet Javed Akhtar sahib. This masterpiece is a result of collaboration, though rare, of two greats from either side of the border. It's beauty all around. Beautiful words; beautifully delivered then and now.

I am amazed how my Pakistani friends are suffering from identity crisis, I can absolutely understand they take pride in being Pakistani now as they have got a separate nation for themselves, but how can you differentiate music and language, this music was born in India with Ragas and SARGAMs and classical music is the base of it, also the language which is Urdu is a language of India which was formed in Uttar Pradesh ( U.P) of India by an amalgam of arabic/Persian and Hindi language (base Sanskrit), actually it's actual name is Hindustani/ Hindvi/ or Dehlvi, which got formed for the armies of that time. But due to communal differences between Muslims and Hindus the script to write that language became different, Muslims adopted Arabic/Persian script but Hindus adopted Devanagari script. But actually it's a common language of all religions of geographical area of old India as languages are geographical and not religious. Later on Pakistan formed and Pakistani govt. adopted an Indian language Urdu as their national language due to Muslim population adopting Persian/Arabic script for writing the Hindustani language. But they ignored the local geographical languages of that area which were Punjabi, Saraiki, Sindhi, Pashto etc. Urdu or Hindustani language was used in Persian/ Arabic script in Pakistan and was then loaded with more Arabic and Persian words. Similarly Hindi or Hindustani language got loaded with more Sanskrit words in it as it chose Devanagari script to write it. The music and language used in Pakistan is all Indian whether they accept that or not which is quite unfortunate as the people are in a dilemma as they are a different nation now carved out of India and they should take pride in being Pakistani and on their nation. But still the language Urdu is 80% Hindi cause of its Indian roots of Hindustani language and the music is the same Hindustani classical music.
