I had my first surgery at Mayo Clinic St.Mary’s in Rochester, Minnesota at 4 months old
But I still get scared and nervous at 20 years old so I watch these to feel calmer about it still
X
You live in MN too?
Well done team workers at the hospital I bet you was doing the operation really carefully and taking care of the boy
Rex was born 10 days after my younger brother Charlie. My younger brother was born February 10th 2004. Rex and Charlie are about the same age today
He was not really born in 2004

I was born in 2008 damn wtf
When it came to me getting my tonsils out they were frozen out with cryosurgery instead of the method of cutting them out because of my age. And the recovery time from the cryosurgery was much faster.
This was so well done. Oh my gosh… the days of my eye surgeries. And adenoids removed. This was enough to make me tear up a little remembering the sweet sounds of what I heard back when I was in surgery. It kind of felt like you went off to dream leand. The quiet sounds of the surgical team putting you to sleep. It is such a sweat sound. And waking up in recovery. It was really interesting to feel the team caring for me especially after my eye surgeries. As many as i have had I remember in one of my eye surgeries the team was telling me that I probably won’t even remember going into the operating room which I actually do remember that and getting situated. I remember it was a gradual thing to bee put to sleep for that… a little medicine to relax and then as I was being rolled into the O.R. On the stretcher I just remember feeling very relaxed and asking “am I asleep yet?” And they would always say “well, you are still talking right? And i would say “yes.” I felt floaty. I do remember having the mask on my nose and after that I don’t remember anything else. I just remember waking up from surgery feeling my throat kind of soar…. That was because of the removal of the mask and then the tube that was put down my throat to keep me breathing and asleep. I just remember with my eye surgeries waking up with a patch on my eye and a blood pressure cuff tightening. It is very interesting feeling this sensation. Of the recovery room. It’s almost like a sleep that you would naturally sleep but you hear a bit of air and beeping. And it is medicine induced. But as far as the sleep it feels the same. It is just that you are put to sleep with medicines. And gas. Beautiful memories of making my eye look good. This gave me memories of for sure my eye surgeries. It made me kind of cry a little bit.😂
That’s a great video it’s super great I loved it and now I know it won’t hurt when I get surgery on the after and hurt but now I know that they’ll give me a special thing to fall asleep so I don’t feel the pain thanks bye
I would need a butterfly needle for the IV and some topical numbing cream. Because I hate long gauge needles and I panic and freak out whenever I see them near my view and in my sight. I just get so anxious, nervous, tense, scared, and try to resist at all cost. I ain’t afraid to fight out of getting an IV done on me. All they could do is talk nice, calm, reassuring to me that every thing was going to be fine. I’m scared of hospitals and emergency rooms and riding in an emt van. Because there’s so much death and loss that surrounds you having to carry on with your job and pretend like nothing happened the day before while doing your job your set to do. I also am traumatized at seeing long small syringes with thin long gauge needles. I saw some thicker long gauge needle and bigger syringes right in front of me. When I tried to have my wisdom tooth removed and my parents blame me for acting out the way I did. They don’t understand that if they were a kid like me and they went into have surgery done on a tooth, but laying down, fully awake, conscious, and seeing what you feared the most right in front of your view and you know what it was exactly. Of course you would freak out and resist it. They couldn’t outsmart you or talk you down from it. You knew what you saw and what was going to happen. I am traumatized for life after that incident particularly and how would I be able to put my trust in a stranger to let them do their job, not fight back, work with them, and know that I will be okay. I trusted them and they did me wrong. Luckily karma is bittersweet. I didn’t go through with the procedure and have it done to me. Because of how they treated me and they surely ain’t getting my trust back either or the money for the operation of surgery on a wisdom tooth.
Man I never had surgery cause I'm only 14 but still I hope I never have surgery lol nice job to all those who made it therw there surgery may God be with you all goodbye!

I have not to

I had an eye surgery nine years ago It went pretty well
I had a lot of surgeries on my heart, liver, appendix, tonsils and they were a successful operation.
I been through a back operation when I was 11 years old nearly 12 I had to be put to sleep I had lots of needles where they put them still got pink spots on where they are. I was brave I have it done on my mum and dad's anniversary in Liverpool hospital
I had about 25 surgeries. They are mostly all nice except one time. No one even talked to me. They just brought me in the operating room and put me to sleep and all they did was talk to each other about their family. I couldn't believe how unprofessional they were!
Wow they were verry unprofessional I agree.
Πρέπει να έχεις πάρει ρεκόρ γκινες
Un prof noobs
i’ve had two.
no three!
When I had my tonsilles removed in 2001 wasn't this comfortable at MÁV Hospital in Szolnok, Hungary... everything was frightening. The docs didn't even tried to ease my anxiety. Played Marche Funebre from Chopin in the surgery ward and were really harsh giving the IV to me... Oh! And I had to stay 4 another days there after surgery. Not wishing that "experience" to anyone...
I had a stomach and eye surgery when I was little. Because I was constantly tearing up, something to do with my tear duct, and I’m not too sure about the stomach thing. Thankfully I’ve been healthy since then
Save your tears
in my advanced 8th grade science class we did a medical detectives project, so we learned how to take a persons vitals. This kid really goes "having your blood pressure taken feels like a hug". All I have to say is not when someone's learning how to do it. I got bruises lmao

I had my nephew come with me when he was an infant. He would smile at me and I held him when I woke up and he just sat in my lap and smiled at me.

I had an emergency operation to get out my tonsils a few years ago because I had Tumor type lumps on my throat that stopped me from breathing we didn’t even have time to pick out a flavour of breath
In the uk when I had surgery last year I had a trainee anesthetist and an actual one digging for a vein in my hands thanks to that I had bruised hands for 6 months

Rex you're so lucky I had to have my IV in when I was awake

Last time when I had a surgery I could not eat or drink before. But this year (I am going to have 2 surgeries) my doctor said that I have to eat and drink because that day can be long. And now I am in the middle.
Someone please help me.
As an EMT:
Generally speaking you can't eat 6 hours prior to anaesthesia, you may drink clear liquids up to 2 hours prior. However you should follow the general advice of your hospital. As surgery timings change, sadly it is not possible to go right to that boundary. It feels like a drag, but you'll live.
Great surgery day with Rex
I had a surgery at Beckley in my mouth. All I got after was McDonalds, a popsicle, and a free day from school.
Surgery nurse be like: hey are you really Rex?
