    I have a 1996 GMC 2500 with the 6.5 as well. Have had it over 23 years... Still runs great.. I like your truck. Engine seems to be running well... Just an FYI... Those holes on your front bumper are there for a reason. Those fog lamps should have not been installed there.. Those holes are to let in fresh air for your engine.. Diesels require large quantities of air for them to run well. Thought you as should now.

    • @kenkoy78
      @kenkoy78 Před 11 měsíci +2

      The holes in the bumper are for diesel engine cooling hence you don’t see them on the gassers.
      Blocking them defeats the purpose and further bakes the PMD (FSD)…

    i love these trucks.. mine is red 4door 3500 single rear 2wd and gas 350.. i dream of it being 4x4 and diesel.. but they are all awesome .. much better then anything out these days.. you can replace everything on it and still be less then half the cost of one of the new junk trucks that arent really trucks anyway

    Just got done doing my ffm for a fuel leak. Fortunately on the 94 the intakes didn't have to be removed to do the job. Not surprised that the PMD not mounted to a heat sink was the problem. They don't just get hot, they get HOT! And yeah, that T valve that had a rubber hose leading to nowhere is, as you guessed, the water in fuel drain for the ffm. Really enjoyed the vid, thanks.

      Thanks man! I didn’t have to pull the intake but I wanted to replace the rubber fuel lines to the pump so I figured it would make my life easier! Yeah I have a couple modules on the shelf just in case!

      @@hodgepodgegarage3911 I replaced the fuel lines, too. Opted to not rerun them under the intakes so as to be able to get to them easier if they ever need replacing. Hopefully never.

    Cool truck! Been looking for one just like it for the farm. Had a similar ffm problem with my truck. It was leaking fuel through that water separator/ drain and loosing prime. Probably not the best fix but I clamped off the drain hose. No issues so far. Great video!

    I know this is an old video and I haven’t watched it all the way through yet but on my 1997 C 3500 crew cab long bed I have a P400 6.5L T Diesel and on one injector pump I had the optical. I sensor went out on the injector pump before I bought a brand new pump from Leroy’s Diesel that optical license sensor creates a lot of problems if you get dirty fuel or it can get the flat out as well, but if fuel gets past that filter, it will create a problem starting and run running problem as well and stumbling similar to the PMD issues as well. Also check your PMD connections. Make sure they’re clean no crusty green crust also quadstar diesel. They sell a lot of parts for our 6.5 diesels as well and also lift pumps. Low pressure output is a big issue with these trucks. I should say our trucks as well. I still have mine will not give it up but anyway good luck with your project. Also on the windshield wipers there was a recall they replace mine and I had about 100+ thousand miles on them on the truck and they replaced it the motor assembly several years ago. I’m thinking somewhere around 2017 when they replace mine for a recall, so check into that and see if they’re still recall out for the windshield wiper motor assembly For your truck just saying might get lucky it was for mine and those PMDs yeah always keep a back up PMD.

    Hey man interesting vid. I have a 6.5 burb I just bought and it already had the pmd relocated with a new one but it runs like crap and always has a hard start even when engine is hot. Only thing that will fix it is when I change the fuel filter and I have to keep cleaning the new one out every few days to keep it from bogging down when driving. What could this be? Vibrates around 2000 rpm. Also, when I clean the fuel filter, I don’t notice any garbage in it so I don’t know why it makes a difference when I do lol. Any thoughts?

      That’s an odd problem, I’ve had a few with the crap in the tank, it clogs the sick in the tank, that and check for air leaks in the fuel lines, if air gets in it’s a pain to have to air bleed every time you start it
