The day I was on the Queen Mary there was hardly anyone around taking the tour. I practically had the place to myself and I have to say, it was a bit oddly familiar and nice at the same time as I walked down the enclosed promenade deck with its wood floors and the windows set up just like the Titanic. When you get to the stairs going down onto the bow of the ship, it's nearly identical as the Titanic. The boat deck with the davits holding each covered boat, the funnels, just was so surreal. Too bad the interior ruined the mood. I now know what it was like to at least walk the outer decks of the Titanic and wish the inside was just as amazing.

Looks like Titanic from outside so i thought it was the museum/hotel Titanic in China ,....But when i saw the Grand staircase was missing....i understood it could not be it ...OR that they totally had forgotten it....Oh well...Queen Mary looks very nice too...In the end i saw they were not alike in the front from outside......and just the Indoor promenade deck was much alike the one from Titanic......Too bad they scrapped Olympic...It could be a museum ship too ...especially since it looked very much like Titanic both inside and outside even they had some differences.....

Once you get accustomed to it, it won't scare you. I worked in a chicken restaurant a few years ago, I often stayed late to make batter and marinate chicken after everyone went home. The door leading into the back kitchen could be heard loud and clear open and close. Initially I thought it was possibly a draft, however this door weighed over 100 lbs. No one was there but me working. I got used to it, and after awhile felt reassured when I heard it when working alone after hours

For some reason the Titanic story has become more important to me. Maybe it's just that I've gotten older and more fully understand the death toll. But the story of it's grandeur and majesty at the time also makes it special. It is a story of hubris against nature, against God. We often think ourselves above nature but the truth is that nature can snuff you out without warning or mercy. Drowning is a terrible way to go but the cold must have been the worst part. I thought the movie did a good job of conveying that plunging into icy water feels like being stabbed with a thousand knives.

Well obviously this is not the titanic but I honestly think someone should build a full size replica of the titanic like not only the upper decks and B decks but every single room and hallway including the engine room and boiler rooms we have maps and plan sheets of the actual ship there’s no reason why it can’t be done now obviously it would cost a ton of many but it would be worth it down the line

It's amazing how long ago ships started to all look the same as they do today on the inside since the 1930s. Only the way that ships look on the outside has changed drastically. I've been on a lot of ships but I'm not crazy about any of them cause they all look and feel cheap and generic (I'm afraid this one does as well)...

Charlie Carroll nothing modern can compete or replicate the golden age of ocean travel like a vintage liner. Queen Mary was able to survive the scrap yard and is pretty much the only living link to that era. People need to preserve her and and get on the ball with proper upkeep and restoration.

I’d say the cold is better than drowning. Drowning may be quicker but there’s more panic. The cold numbs you and hypothermia makes you delirious.

Bueno, desafortunadamente lo que ves ahí, no es el Titanic, en determinado momento se estuvo hablando de hacer una réplica pero agregando modernidad en su sistema de navegación etc, con fines turísticos por supuesto, pero no tengo noticias de que la idea prosperase. El Titanic era hermoso, indescriptiblemente hermoso, al menos en sus cubiertas para primera clase y hasta la segunda clase que también tenía su encanto... pero acá te das cuenta que faltan detalles que no pueden dejarse pasar por alto, como la gran escalera, rematada con su hermosa cúpula de cristal, el café Francés, etc, etc.. aún así me parece un maravilloso recorrido; haber visto al menos una parte del lujo de estos barcos... y muy Real el paseo por cubierta, eso si me remontó al Titanic, y de forma muy real... doy gracias al que compartió este video. 👍👍👍

Well saying it's the Titanic is one way to gets people to watch this lol but the Queen Mary is a beautiful ship. Would love to experience it moving on the high seas instead of just stationary.
Charlie Carroll nothing modern can compete or replicate the golden age of ocean travel like a vintage liner. Queen Mary was able to survive the scrap yard and is pretty much the only living link to that era. People need to preserve her and and get on the ball with proper upkeep and restoration.
And she made film history by standing in as the S.S. Poseidon in 1972!
