hey guys! this year's youtube rewind was honestly not even that bad, just maybe a bit boring. i'm super thankful to be in it with the 6th most liked video of the entire year (even though it's got more likes than the video at #5? uuhhh anyway) so thank you all so much for supporting my content through all of 2019.

Nir Bromberg they didn’t make anything special because of the people’s response. They felt it was cringe that they featured youtubers and that it did it in a biased way. So they made this as a response. It’s not their fault.

Low-Budget Shork Exactly this. Rewind this year wasn’t anything special but at least it’s not like the 2018 one and definitely doesn’t deserves the dislike bombing.
It became almost a demand to trash youtube, but little do they forget that they watch it everyday and gave us creators that we love so much.
Playing it safe and celebrating their most succesful creators is what the rewind should generally be anyway so I think theyre taking the right steps.
Its not gonna be overwhelming or anything but its gonna be alright.
I'm guessing they're still waiting for the 2018 rewind fire to settle down before putting a lot of time, money, and effort into another Rewind. No matter how good this years rewind was going to be, they were going to be met with dislikes.

NeoNep to be fair even when they try to be creative with there rewinds 2016,2017,2018 people still hate on CZcams so it's understandable they choose something simple this year don't hate me it's just my opinion.

@@on_ftkbddadn8285 No hate here just wanted to say that if you look at the like to dislike ratio it is clear that last year was a big change. 2016-2017 might not have had the best ratios, but they weren't bad. 2018, however, was a disaster of extreme proportions. And I'm not saying they didn't have their reasons, I just feel like they took the cheap way out. There were made hundreds if not thousands of videos talking about the 2018 rewind and plenty of those talked about what could have fixed it. The concept of a classical youtube rewind isn't inherently broken, they just had a bad year, and that's what annoys me. Instead of at least trying to fix it they immediately went "they didn't like it, so let's not waste time on it" which is a horrible mindset to have. They didn't look at WHY we didn't like it and seemingly made no effort to try turning the trend around. But most importantly, they didn't simply cut their losses and decide not to publish a youtube rewind this year, but instead publish one where they specifically call us out saying "look at this, is this what you wanted?", which is childish and in poor taste. I understand not wanting to put a lot of effort into it, but taking the effort that could have gone into making something enjoyable and instead of using it to basically talk down on us is simply rude and places an already struggling youtube in a very bad light.
