    • @dedrereads1474
      @dedrereads1474 Před 3 lety +84

      Honestly I think the sorcerer's hat was more iconic than the Chinese Theater, then again I think the Chinese Theater was a bigger deal in the movie-making industry back when it was built than it is now.
      You wouldn't be able to do projections on either (so it seems like the tower of terror is the new show icon?), but at least the hat had a stage you could have performances on naturally. Saw a few great new years shows by Mulch, Sweat and Shears there! RIP, you beloved Disney park band... (I think they're gone now)

      Dedre Reads I actually really miss The Great Movie Ride too. However, even though Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway is based off the subpar Mickey Mouse cartoons from 2013-2018, the ride itself is actually okay and very impressive.

    So it's come to my attention that I messed up the dates / timeline within the Rocket to the Moon segment in regards to TWA ending their sponsorship with Disney...still not sure how this happened on my part or how I didn't catch it during the countless re-writes and recordings. It's always incredibly embarrassing to admit when I get something so obviously wrong, but I believe in transparency, so please forgive the blunder. Thankfully it has no real impact on the overall story, just the reasoning behind why they pulled their sponsorship so abruptly.

    No joke: I sent Disney Imagineering a letter as a kid asking for them to put a Pizza Planet in Tomorrowland. They had just done the Toy Story Funhouse summer event, so they had plenty of materials to recycle (especially the arcade cabinets). They gave me the standard "We don't accept outside ideas, but you should consider a career in imagineering" reply and a free copy of DIsney Adventures.
    CUT TO 1998, AND WHAT DO I SEE?! They gave me my thing THAT SOMEHOW WASN'T MY THING! I wanted vomiting alien soda dispensers! Well, the final one isn't exactly that, but at least we finally got Pizza Planet theming. Too bad the Starcade couldn't stay open for it.
