Definitely, the coach had a real masterplan. It's a shame with the injuries. Morocco could have won the cup. The early goal from France was a mistake from a replacement that leaded to the goal. The only weakness of Morocco was they did not have benched players with same quality as the first eleven. The substitutes did have heart and commitment, but not high level experience.
Morocco's ball possession technique is the best thing here. It's literally "no we don't want it, you keep it" lmao. They literally kick the ball back to you and MAKE you keep it

They play to their capabilities. Portugal have bigger stars than Morocco. In their interviews, Moroccan players and their manager say “we fought and defended well” they never say “we played well”. They are tactically disciplined and follow their manager’s directions to a T.

Now, it is a real world cup as it still has teams from three continents. Though Brazil was quite disrespectful to their Asian opponents who probably hero-worship them privately, they got what they deserved from Modric and co who made the possibility of another show down with the French a distinct possibility!! @@Gotafly500 that's when you have the ball comfortably. In this case, the opposing team has always had to fight the constant press from the Morroccons which can lead to tiredness when you are constantly receving the ball with a player breathing down your neck at all times.

I am not sure Morocco played defense in this world cup. As it seemed they were defensive, they were actually on the offensive and all in it, so the counterattack isn't random or incomplete where it may fail and get counterattacked as they open up while on offense, so they really calculated their moves, and once they get well aligned an opening gets revealed in the opposite team and there you go with Atlas Lions taking it all in on the lethal o. offense. I saw no defense in their games, they are observing and aligning one another, once the regrouping and lockdown confirmed, they are now on the offensive all at once, massive swarm as a result of securing the lockdown in the back, confirming the other team is lockdown and can no longer create anything new, the offense begins.
