I’ve been subscribed for a while before the midi art and personally I like the creative songwriting videos you do more than anything.
Also, “Jojo” refers to the anime “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure”, which is on netflix if you wanna find out what people mean. Each season is quite different from the last though, so take that into account.

Hey there! Speaking of lifted videos, I found you randomly like a week ago from your PacMan video somebody put on imgur. Thank you for putting your name in the video, I dislike sharing things that I can't find the original of. I sent it (the yt one oc) and some of your other art to peeps on April 1st, with something to the effect of "this guy doesn't fool around". 😁

Thanks so much Narf! I appreciate you looking for the original video, very few people do that these days unfortunately. Yeah lots of people steal the vids or repost them without crediting, but this is the first time a company has done that.
I can't change color based on note length unfortunately, only pitch or velocity (how hard I play the note). I have experimented with multiple colors but it's hard to get consistent results :)

Jojo's bizarre adventure (jojo) is a famous anime shonen and it's well known for its music, the soundtrack of every season is pretty good (because every season there is a new protagonist called jojo with his own theme) and the music is so good that it became a meme.
Also, Hirohiko Araki his author made characters with name based on musical artists (wham, AC/DC, notorious BIG, Polnareff, queen etc).
Hope you'll see my comment and even if you don't like anime or manga please listen to the soundtrack and trust me this manga is a cultural reference in art in general so if you'd like to learn more about this there is some videos which shows you why jojo is a masterpiece

makes sense, it does seem easier to memorize them rather than put it all onto a music sheet. does that mean you have some of them memorized still and could play them whenever, or do you usually for get them once you start working on a new one?

I hate companies’ scummy profiteering, rent-seeking, total lack of payment to the people actually doing the work they profit off. You say probably a lot of the content is stolen, my guess is all of it is. The fact that some people think you _used that filter_ to make the MIDI art is astounding to me - it doesn’t have the crummy fade-in, plus there’s the fact that your notes line up with the piano roll??? But I guess the folks saying that aren’t musically literate enough (not an insult, just a fact) to recognise that. So frustrating when companies just rip your art and profit off of it. Of course it happens to everyone, visual artists, musicians, photographers, and much more. Ugh.

@@GLASYS sadly that’s true of most laws meant to help us nowadays :( they exist formally, but not substantively, for 99% of us.
And of course while a select few people can make a ton of money off of, eg, Urban Outfitters ripping-off art to sell on t-shirts; these laws won’t get changed due to lobbying etc. It can be pretty disheartening.
