- This time we return to the Bridging Camp on Chesil Beach for an overnight session, Paella is the dish of the day, recipe bellow… Increasing wind, lots of weed & spider crabs made life tricky, but still managed some fish.
FOR 2 PEOPLE
Olive oil
4 x Chicken thighs
Fish of your choice, keep it chunky!
1/2 Pack fine green beans
1 x Red onion
2 x Garlic cloves
3 x Tomatoes “concasse” or grated
1 x Sprig rosemary
1 x Teaspoon Smoked sweet paprika
1 x Pinch Saffron
1 x Mug Paella rice
2-3 Mugs Boiling Water
1 x Teaspoon vegetable bouillon powder

great video buddy. maximum effort as always. The Paella looked awesome, need to do that one for sure, would you cut bream the same way for it. Can't wait for the curry. We quite often make a dahl with a fillet of bream on the top, no rice. Banging😉😉👍👍🙏🙏
Hi Dylan, Dahl is one of my all time faves, so moorish & great to batch cook & freeze. You can absolutely cut bream or bass the same, it would work a treat, sure there are a few bones to pick around but it’s part of the charm, makes a nice change to just filleting all the time. Take care mate 😎👍

What an amazing shelter, exactly the intricate construction methods that Bear Grylls or Ray Mears might employ, had they a few spare days to build it. You need to patent that design before Wimpey or Barrett steal it 😉.

Terrific video Lincoln, it's amazing what you can find on the beach, unless you carted the oil drum and pallet for 40mins ! Love to hear the ratchet going off. Ceviche bream would have been a lot easier! looking Forward to the next adventure .
Hi Rob, the drum and pallet wood was like a big sign saying “stop here”! It’s great having a fire at night, so the drum was a real treat, gets a bit hairy with exploding pebbles otherwise…! I don’t think I have made ceviche since my college days, a great summery dish though. Take care pal 👍🙂

Been reading reports about the weed, well done for sticking that out in those conditions. Haven't had the chance in the last few weeks to get out, so great to see the vid / cook. I normally stop at least 4-5 times to get to the bird sanctuary, the camp might be beyond me !! Conger curry anyone ??
Been missing your vids buddy, it’s a drag when you can’t get out. The last 15 minutes of the walk back to the car is horrible 😂 I think there are plenty of fish there, it’s just getting them on to the hook with the weed & crabs…hopefully the bigger tides on the way will clear some of it out. I’m not squeamish about eating eel, it’s just getting one the right size to turn up at the right time… it’ll happen at some point 🙂 look after yourself 👍😎

Really enjoyed this one, loved the Paella recipe and could smell the saffron going in...Your shelter reminded me of the ones we used to build from fertiliser bags back in the 70's. Look forward to the fish curry episode. How about a tasty bouillabaisse, which is my favourite.
Thinking about it, this was a bouillabaisse with rice! ;)
Hi John, I’m just picturing a row of anglers on a busy Chesil beach, all sitting in fertiliser bag shelters, brilliant!🤩 😎👍 there are certainly similarities in the dishes, but I think bouillabaisse would be a great suggestion for another cook up, an absolute classic & a great 1 pan wonder. @@fishdisco3107 No it was only us kids that had the makeshift shelters, the blokes had windshields with a tilley lamp tucked close by for warmth.
