The leg kicks(a weakness for Max), and his technical skills are on another level at this point. Doesn't matter what pace Max uses. Justin trains at elevation. He never gasses. Only time will tell. How is it a fake ass belt ? 😂 just cause it's not a division chanp belt, doesn't make it fake. It's a belt solidified into the ufc as it's own thing. It's for savages that will go out with a bang win or lose. Most division Champs just duck the people that can take it all away from them.

That is like saying the pound for pound best weight lifter should be able to lift the heaviest weights.. So if some 125lb woman lifts the most weight compared to her body weight and she is the pound for pound best. That doesn't mean she is going to dead lift 1,000kg.. It's exactly not what it's saying..

The Holloway segment just makes me feel even worse about the fight. I think the reason so many are concerned is a combination of a few things:
1. his performance against Poirier, which ended his 13-win run. It's not like he got obliterated or anything, but to me at least it demonstrated his smaller size can be a limiting factor at lightweight. I might be off here though, since Poirier is also an excellent boxer. Would've loved to've seen that fight at featherweight.
2. at age 26 the concussion-like symptons, or whatever that was, he was demonstarting in an interview before his fight with Ortega, and after some tests that fight being delayed five months. I think this is what concerns me the most.
3. Gaethje is no joke in the boxing and, most concerning, vicious power department and will happily oblige him on the feet. The ground game will be a zero factor in this fight and I can't help but remember what happened to Ferguson.
I, like most people I think, are concerned out of a place for love for the guy. But between his size, general lack of knockout power, and history of punch-drunk symptoms, combined with Gaethje's rep, I don't think things look good for him. Man oh man I so hope I'm wrong. Win or lose though, I think the absolute worst outcome here is Holloway being in there in a drawn out, gruelling war.

@@jenniturtleburger3708 Yeah, I was thinking the same thing but wasn't 100% sure, but it really seems he's saying any p4p should be able to fight anyone else on that list regardless of weight, because that's what p4p is all about. That kind of triggered deeper concern for me. He doesn't seem to understand why people are concerned about him and he just sees it as his fans (or whoever) not understanding the fighter's mindset. But if that were the case, why isn't anyone batting an eye at the idea of Islam moving up to welterweight for example, even considering that's a 15 (not 10) pound increase.

You aren't going to beat the top guys if you are worried about your shoulder falling off. His last loss reflects this.
I dont think its his shoulder, it's his style, it will work against many of the top guys most of the time, but elite strikers/wrestlers? Too many holes in his unorthodox style, and he has bad habits that opponents coaches can pick apart and gameplan for, for i.e an easy one to spot is his lunging in uppercut, Jiri dips his head then move forward every single time he throws it, its a huge tell once established via footage.

Sparing is not always about winning rounds, it's about helping each other get better. Plus, defense sparring is important too. Sean was being a good sparing partner and letting that guy get in work.
