Justin has said it before that he doesn't wrestle because it's boring. He used to use his wrestling prior to joining the UFC, but ever since he just stands and bangs because it's exciting.

Same with these fighters that are older than 35, 100k to have lasting health effects isn’t really too much - future doesn’t look to good for them, doubt ufc is gonna pay for medical bills that aren’t immediately fight related.
they don't - you're looking at some of the highest earners in the company and those payout are nothing compared to the income they generated for UFC on that night. Less tax, manager/agent cut/ gym fees...

He's still a prospect. The UFC signs him for a few fights to see if he's worth it. A fighter is only worth the attention they bring to the cards they fight on. It doesn't matter how good a fighter is. If no one cares about your fights, you wont make shit. And right now, no one really gives a shit about Diego outside of seeing him as a promising prospect. Give him a few more fights and see if his stock raises when it comes time to sign a new contract.

Agree regarding Max/Justin being a very different fight had Justin used his wrestling. Yes, short notice preparation to 155 (“Muffin top Max”) was a factor, but I believe the biggest reason DP was successful against Max, was bc of mixing in takedowns. I’m surprised there was seemingly no change of advice to the game plan going in to the later rounds. Most significant was the broken nose with 20 minutes left to go. That one strike is what led to Max winning the fight, in my opinion.
